Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Ideal place for visiting the Lake District, St Bees is not widely known by many visiting the Lake District, however I’d highly recommend giving this place a go. We were visiting family and staying in one of the cottages, was ideal for a week’s stay and the Tan was absolutely spot on, no complaints at all and we will see this as a regular place to stay

This is a lovely old farmhouse on the Main Street of St Bees and in a great position just minutes from the train station. It has been completely modernised and I stayed in a lovely bright room at the top of the main house with great views. It was well furnished, decorated and spotless. The B&B is approx 5 minutes walk from St Bees Priory Church which was well worth a visit and just yards away from two public houses. The breakfast was lovely and we were made to feel very welcome.

What a lovely way to start the Coast to Coast walk. We stayed two days with Carole and enjoyed the facilities very much. Carole took such good care of us and sent us off with a lovely lunch. For our extra day, we sent south and took the little train “La”al Ratty to see a different area of the Lakes. It was fun and easy to do from the train station next door to StoneHouse Farm. Highly recommend this location in St. Bees.

Historic building and professionally-run B&B. 2 minute walk from train station. Comfy bed, clean bathroom, tasty breakfast, good WiFi in room and good packed lunch for 8.5£. Very helpful staff. Would definitely stay here again.

It was nice to be cut off from the busy world and come to a place where everything is provided-most importantly clean air! The rooms are large and airy and comfortable. The food, made by the owner who is also an international chef, is exquisite. and always fresh. He even offers to take you for a walk through the farm. There is a pool to boot and a lot of lawn area inside the gate. Good value for the experience!

Stunning example of how a great B&B should be!! The house was immaculate, breakfast was terrific and all the team were incredibly friendly, nothing too much trouble. If you're an animal lover, this is little haven. Take the sandwich offer if you're setting off on coast to coast... yummy!
