Enjoyed dinner at the Queens Hotel. All the staff were welcoming and the food delicious. We sat at a table next to a roaring log fire which, considering the lashing rain and high wind outside, was really welcome. The menu isn't extensive but they have daily specials. Portions are enormous and the food was served piping hot. Very pleasant evening,...

The staff was very friendly and helpful. The rooms were very old, but clean. We arrived on Monday and the kitchen wasn't open that day. The manager said that had he known a few days in advance he would have had the chef come in to make us a meal. We ended up eating at the Manor House across the...

I'm hoping that any customer service issues have now been addressed. We visited with friends from Australia, London, Edinburgh and our party had 20 people. We were having the best day, we had sat up at The Manor for a few hours having drinks, then we went down to The Albert and the atmosphere in St Bees was immense. The...

Decided to have a meal here with the family. As we walked in, we were impressed with the new decor, especially the way the conservatory looks. As we didn't book, we were told that we had to wait 20 minutes before we could get served so in the mean time, we had to find a table and wait. The girl...

We visited in the evening for a drink and some food. We were told we couldn't have a table until 8.00 pm as we hadn't booked but were happy to wait the 45 minutes enjoying a drink in the beer garden to the back of the pub. Having perused the menu we were ready to order when the friendly waitress...

Stayed here for a walking weekend and the rooms, staff and food are all good, great base for starting coast to coast walk especially if travelling by train - 2 mins walk! The hotel itself would benefit from a delivery of a bale of big fluffy towels, a Dyson, new showerheads and a bottle of elbow grease!
