We were recommended The Manor during touring the St Bees area for weekday lunch by a local petrol station and also a local person who was present at the time. We arrived via the rear car park, entering the bar by two sets of stairs which was difficult but not impossible for a disabled person, just slow. Although it was...

Arrived during a very busy Friday evening, due to a retirement party. However we were greeted by the Owner Alan who was very gracious. We had room 6, which was spacious and very clean. We had decided to visit St Bees in order to take advantage of the wonderful coastal walks and were not disappointed. We dined in the restaurant...

Booked a table for two early on a Wednesday evening. Unusually for my wife and I we both decided on the same meal opting for a starter of artisan bread and dips and steak and ale pie, real comfort food on a cold and damp evening. The servings did not disappoint. The artisan bread was warm and came with amongst...

Thank you for posting you review. We are pleased you enjoyed your meal & hope you will visit again. I apologise for you having to battle your way through a group of smokers who I presume were smoking in the doorway to shelter from the rain!

Arrived without a booking but given a table with proviso it was vacated at a certain time. This was more than fair but will definitely book next time as I will certainly return. This is a pub frequented by locals with a gastro style restaurant. Decor is muted and welcoming and thankfully the serving staff are more mature than the...

Travelled up the west coast of Cumbria from Millom to Maryport and called in at The Manor at St. Bees for lunch. Very glad we did. Friendly welcome, good food and good beer. Just the job. No parking from Main Street, you have to drive around the back to the car park and enter via the rear hotel entrance. Small...

Visited here with family for the first time on Saturday night, we all enjoyed the food - only criticism was that the pork terrine starter was very bland! Other than that we all enjoyed our food and service was good. Will return again next time we are in St Bees

We went here for lunch on the recommendation from a friend and have absolutely no intention of returning. The waitress was sullen, unsmiling and rude. We waited 50 minutes for our food despite there being only one other family in the restaurant. Our food, when it arrived, was varying degrees of warm - the chips had just been made whilst...

I would recommend the Manor, it has charm, the food was good and ale excellent. It was a lovely evening sitting outside the pub enjoying and ale talking with very friendly locals Matthew, Mark, Luke & John. My stay coincided with a large storm (noting the staff could do about that) would I come back - yes if only to...
