We had 2 nights at Church Walk House before starting the Cumbria Way walk. Martin is a perfect host and such a kind, funny (and bonza..) soul. A stunning building full of history and perfectly located in Ulverston. Thank you Martin, you are great at what you do. Jennifer & Fran x

A truly warm welcome to this centrally located B&B. Martin is a welcoming host who is there to help. Rooms appeared recently decorated in an old fashioned style that suits the building, with original furniture and ornaments. Everything was clean. Breakfast (full English or as you like) was enjoyable and served around a common table.

All the reviews are absolutely correct. John and Martin are kind, attentive hosts who go out of their way to make your stay memorable. Our room was very comfortable with a splendid new bathroom. Breakfasts were beautifully cooked and very tasty. The house is in a good location near to the centre of Ulverston which is a most pleasant small...

We arrived quite early on a Saturday where there was Carnival in Ulverston and got our room immediately. There was everything we needed for a good night and the fantastic decoration in the bathroom was a lovely addition which we enjoyed. Brekkie the next morning was typical English and good and as it was our first for this vacation we...

Only one night but I wished it was more. Perfect host, room, breakfast. So if you are ever in Ulverston or anywhere near this is the place to stay. Ulverston of course is the birth place of Stan Laurel and there are lots of pubs and restaurants too and with Ulverston on the edge of the Lake District National park...

Stayed in CWH for 3 non-consecutive weeks last year when I was over for work. The townhouse looks great from the outside and the inside didn't disappoint either! The rooms were spacious and comfortable with a real touch of class while the breakfast was as good as you'll get with the poached eggs particularly outstanding. Martin was a fantastic host...

We stayed here prior to commencing the Cumbrian way. We were instantly welcomed into the house and given many great recommendations for evening food. The accommodation itself was neat and well presented. We also had the most delicious breakfast of beautifully poached eggs and "secret recipe" mushrooms that prepared us well for our Cumbrian way walk. Thanks again for your...

We stayed here for one night after completing the Keswick to Barrow walk. The accommodation was very comfortable, clean and friendly. Breakfast was also fantastic. This particular B&B stood out to us because it didn't insist on a two night minimum stay, particularly as we only needed one night to recover from the walk before heading out of Cumbria. This...
