Absolute fabulous B&B. Stayed for 3 nights with friends. Incredibly warm welcome from Brian. Excellent comfortable room with separate bathroom & toilet & everything you need from a coffee maker to high pressure hot shower to amazing view of the ocean. A great fresh breakfast with everything you need. Brian even filled our flasks every day. Thank you & we will be returning next year x

The Lismore is a really lovely guest house. We received a lovely, friendly welcome from Brian on arrival. Our room was spacious, comfortable & beautifully decorated. Everything was spotlessly clean and little details like USB charger and devise charging station were provided. The bed was very comfortable so we had a great night's sleep, followed by a fab breakfast the next day with a great variety of choices, even fresh berries. We travelled by car & while there was no parking the train station parking is really close by. Lovely restaurants and the harbour are just down the road. We'll definitely book again when visiting Whitehaven.

Fantastic guest house. We travel a lot as we love at our workplace, and this is one of the best we gave stayed in. We live in South West Scotland and tend to head for the lakes but have never actually stayed in Whitehaven before. We thoroughly enjoyed it. Loads of history and fab restaurants. The guesthouse was super. Claire and her dad made us v welcome. Room beautiful and spotlessly clean. Water in fridge for us and lovely shower gel. Even supplied decaff tea! Breakfast was so delicious all fresh produce and roasted on the vine tomatoes! We will definitely return. We had a great weekend!

Over many years of staying in guest houses and bed and breakfasts in the UK, the is certainly one of the best. Our hosts kindly let us check in early which was greatly appreciated and the standard of accommodation was excellent (with one room having lovely views across the harbour). Both the location and quality of breakfast was excellent and our hosts could not have been more helpful or accommodating. Highly recommended.

A group of us stayed here for two nights and every one in the group loved this delightful little guesthouse, which is in a semi-detached property. The decor is cosy and welcoming and the rooms are clean and well furnished. Host Claire and her dad Brian are lovely and hospitable folks. The delicious and generous breakfast is served in a beautiful glass encased sun room with a view of the sea. We stayed in a total of guest houses/hotels during our two-week trip in the UK. Lismore is ranked among the top, in my view.

This was the start of our coast to coast cycle ride. Brian was so helpful and accommodating. He stored our bikes securely inside and gave us local knowledge of where to eat (and drink!). A wonderful host and the breakfast was superb! We would recommend this place for a coast to coast adventure!

Better than any top Hotel. As we were travelling to Whitehaven, we received a text to say our room was ready. (A lovely touch) Warm welcome from Brian. Shown to our lovely large, warm room (number 2) Double bed, single bed, separate bath/shower room and separate toilet. Beds extremely comfortable. View over harbour and out to sea. Good supply tea, coffee, biscuits etc. So quiet. No disturbance from other guests. Busy road below but hardly heard the traffic. Only few minutes walk from train station, buses and taxi rank. Few minutes walk from cafés and restaurants. Close to Coastal path. Walking distance from Beacon Museum and Rum Story Museum. (Both worth visiting) Then we met Claire. Really lovely, friendly person who provides the best breakfast. All freshly cooked and great choice. Served in conservatory with great views over harbour. This is a real find and we can't recommend it highly enough. No idea how such a high standard can be provided at such a reasonable rate. If we are ever in Whitehaven again this would be our first choice.

I stopped here for a short business trip. My room was a single (by choice) but didn't feel cramped, certainly comfortable for the 2 nights I was there. Spotlessly clean, friendly hosts and a short walk into town - top it all off with a very good breakfast and you have great value for money. A better supply of shower gel would have been good but hardly a complaint point.

As one of eight riding the C2C, the accommodation was booked by the company organising the ride. And a good choice too. Well positioned for the town, the host and staff couldn't have been more welcoming. The room - I can only comment on mine - the Kingsize shown in the main image for the property - was perfect and to a high standard - quiet and comfortable. The breakfast was excellent too. An excellent choice and fundamentally, if needing to stay in the area again would attempt to make a booking at the Lismore.
