This The Waverley Hotel in the centre of Whitehaven is ideally situated for all that Whitehaven has to offer. The accommodation is good, I stayed in a single room and was surprised to find a shower plus soap, shampoo etc. Toilets are along the corridor and it also accommidates a bath. The Sunday night the hotel did not do meals but 50...

The rooms are very dated. The bed i slept in was so uncomfortable felt like the springs were going to go through the bed. The food was good. The wimdows were rattlingduring the night. There was no place in the bathroom to put any toiletries. I most definitely wont be recommending this to anyone to stay at!

A big thank you to all at the Waverley Hotel. We had a family gathering to celebrate an 18th Birthday. We had a dining room all to ourselves and because we pre-ordered the food, it arrived a few minutes after we arrived. The food was hot, well prepared and there was plenty of it. The staff were efficient and friendly....

I joined family here for a post funeral gathering. The friendliness of the staff serving an array of home cooked food (soup and sandwiches accompanied by trays of 'proper' chips and tea/coffee set the scene. We were afforded time to chat and exchange stories celebrating our lost member's life and getting to know each other better and meet the new...

Just had an overnight with family - would recommend. A little bit tired but lovely and clean. Staff were great especially the older lady doing breakfast. We ate in the restaurant in the evening and had breakfast, both meals were outstanding, big portions and good value. Would definitely go back.

We are a couple from Yorkshire who visit the hotel twice a year when visiting our family. Having read a recent review we decided to add photographs of room 3 where we stayed on the 5th and 6th February. The bathroom has been refurbished and the room was immaculate (24 inch t.v). As always the staff were outstanding and the...

Stayed for one night, two adults and a child, in Jan 2016. Hotel is central and handy for shops/bars/restaurants. We stayed in the family ensuite room (Room 7) which was at the very back of the hotel away from other rooms and was very quiet. Perfect for when you need a little one to settle. The room was spacious for...

It is a very tired hotel with very minimal comforts in the room and a TV which has about the same size screen as my laptop. The bathroom was a bodged repair with gap between the bath and the grouting, the sink in my room was chipped in the bowl and the toilet cistern was hanging on the wall by...
