I was working in Carlisle so chose it opting for a rural bed & breakfast and was pleased. The room was lovely and the en suite was good. It had a shower and no bath which is fine by me. Breakfast was good with plenty of choices. One downside was the door to the room was thin and allowed noise...

We only stayed one night, as we were just passing through, but wished it could have been longer. The bedroom was lovely: spacious and clean, well decorated and with a really nice en-suite. The setting was absolutely beautiful and the room afforded lovely views of the surrounding countryside. The owners couldn't have been friendlier or more helpful and breakfast in...

Lovely place to stay. I was just passing through so only there for one night but wish I could have stayed longer. Its a very quiet location, the owners are so friendly and helpful, giving lots of advice about the local area. Had to go elsewhere for an evening meal but was given good directions. Room beautifully done, very comfortable,...

We picked this site for two reasons (1) we wanted to be away from all the busy tourist areas in the lakes (2) we wanted a quiet small site. Location wise is was great - very quiet area 3miles to the nearest village but not too far away for visiting Ullswater/Keswick - both about 30/35 mins away. The site was...

We stayed here last week in one of the glamping cabins and I can't find a single fault whatsoever. The cabins have an amazing view across the Solway Firth to the Scottish mountains and behind is a field with sheep and horses. The cabin was immaculate, I'm a bit OTT with cleanliness but even I didn't feel the need to...

This weekend B&B trip was a present from the family. I had never stayed at a B&B so I was a little unsure what to expect. The welcome from Janet was friendly and helpful. The family dog Mary was very unfriendly and aggressive towards our placid Springer Spaniel which was a bit disconcerting but Mary was moved out of the...

Very clean and spacious camp site in a pretty area. The shower block and toilets were spotless and always well stocked. The owners were friendly and we will be visiting again in the next couple of weeks.

Stayed here at the start of our coast to coast cycle ride on our tandem. Happy to store our camper van whilst on the trip and collected us from Wigton station afterwards. What more could you want. Pretty campsite and great facilities. Also has cabins and cottages to rent.

My boyfriend and I (plus our dog!) stayed at this beautiful cottage at the end of June 2016 and will definitely return. The cottage is the most lovely, well appointed, 2 bedroom house that you can really make like home. The kitchen is fully equipped, the beds comfy and there is a hot tub! We particularly enjoyed this after a...

We stayed here for 2 nights for a wedding in Gretna Green. It matched the reviews as it was a lovely stay. Janet and John are wonderful hosts and Janet really helped us out as the night of the wedding we couldn't get a taxi so she came and picked us up, otherwise we would have been stuck!! Also, I...
