Stayed here for one night B&B and evening meal. Accommodation was comfortable, WiFi good and loads of parking. Food was good, posh pub grub. Prices for accommodation and food were very reasonable. The owners and staff were friendly and helpful. We will stay here again.

What a fab hotel/pub. Cosy, really comfortable, breakfast best for a long time!!! Ideal location and nice flat walk to Ashbourne. Cannot fault this gem of an inn. Lovely staff and so reasonably priced. Thanks for a great weekend break!!

The building itself is not the most attractive. However, it boasted inside very large, comfortable and well appointed rooms - a great nights sleep and a good dinner and breakfast to boot. Really could not ask for more - the friendly staff on hand were also a bonus.

Stayed here on our way to Alton Towers, arrived early evening to a warm welcome and a friendly smile. We had 2 rooms and both were well equipped, clean & tidy. We had booked a table for dinner and the food and service were excellent. Breakfast was also great with locally produced food. Would highly recommend eating and staying here.

We wanted to visit Ashbourne for its antique shops and decided to stay overnight. We chose the Royal Oak as it looked good and had very favourable reviews. We weren't disappointed, it was absolutely great in all respects! The room was lovely, spacious and spotless, as was the bathroom. It was rear facing,so was free from road noise. It also had... More

£65 for a night here with my girlfriend after our Alton Towers trip to open up the Peak District represented very good value. Large room, good furniture, comfortable bed, lovely modern bathroom that was clean too. Service absolutely fine. Breakfast was good in the morning (included in the rate) - wouldn't have minded slightly more but not a major problem!... More

We had a very friendly welcome on our arrival and our room in the adjoining annex had everything we needed for a comfortable nights stay. We stayed here for one night before departing on a 2 day cycle tour of the Peak District. Friendly welcome and nice atmosphere in the pub. Clean and tidy rooms above the pub, but the en-suite to our twin room was looking a bit tired and in need of updating. We ate here and were pleasantly surprised ow good our... More

Stayed two nights to celebrate a birthday. From arrival to departure the staff went out of their way to meet our every need in a relaxed and friendly way. We had a large room over the function room annex close to the main building, It was comfortable and well equipped. The bathroom had restricted headroom which allowed only a hand-held... More
