Detailed Reviews
We stayed Monday to Friday in the Bluebell Pod which had fantastic views out to Carsington Water and the surrounding hills. The location of the pods are quite remote but that makes it lovely and peaceful. The pods themselves are warm, comfortable and provide an ideal base for walks, cycling and watersports in the area. The owners have thought of everything with a BBQ, fire pit and a fresh water tap provided outside each pod. As other reviewers have commented the minted lamb burgers really are top notch and tasted amazing!
There is an information room with maps and leaflets which incorporates a pretty well stocked honesty shop. There is also a well built outside cooking area with utensils etc and 2 very clean bathrooms available on the site.
The owners were very helpful and friendly when we met them and good information was provided to us ahead of our stay. Our daughters stayed in the Damson Pod for 2 nights and really liked the site describing the pods as 'cute'.
Overall the site was very clean, with plenty of hand sanitiser provided. We would recommend this site to anyone and we thoroughly enjoyed our glamping experience.

We spent a week in the pods shortly after the Lockdown re opening in July. We were 2 adults and 2 children in 1 pod which is fine though a little cosy and we had a 2nd pod for my parents in law. The Pods themselves are clean, tidy and well organised, having WiFi was a hit with the kids! The big attraction for us with the Pods is the location each Pod has amazing views and large outdoor decking areas. There is a central shared Kitchen and information area which was really useful as it had lots of brochures and maps for local attractions as well as the honesty shop. We ordered some of the Lamb Burgers from Craig (they are locally produced) and they were amazing! We used the BBQ a couple of times and the Fire Pits eery night. We also walked down to the local pub (Red Lion) which was very good. Overall a great stay and we will return, the weather helped as we were out and about every day but this location would also be great if you just want some peace and quiet to chill out.
The owners were really helpful and super responsive all in all a great place.

Fantastic few days away with our children (age 9 and 11). We stayed in Lavender Pod and it was lovely and clean and warm and cosy. It had everything we needed. Communal cooking and washing up facilities were great, wonderful views while you cook. A well stocked info room with any basics you may have forgotten and lots of leaflets with ideas of things to do.
Two bathrooms shared between the 3 pods was like your bathroom at home. Again super clean, warm and great shower.
The weather was gale force winds, rain and hail for our stay! But it didn't stop us having two evenings by the fire-pit, marshmallows a must.
The views from the pod are simply beautiful, we spent a lot of time just looking out at them from the decking. We also went to Carsington Water which you can see from our pod. Due to the weather we found some indoor activities. The cinema in Derby and Clip and Climb in Derby. Fantastic cafe Jack Rabbits in Ashbourne where we then ventured into the disused railway tunnel where the Tissington Trail begins. We did make use of the great WiFi in the pod watching some films together on the more rainy windy evenings.
We all really enjoyed our stay at Mulino Pods and will definitely return and highly recommend to others.

Just got back from a weekend at the Mulino Pods near Ashbourne. Went with my daughter so chose the Lavender Pod which had a large double bed plus bunk beds.
Firstly I would like to say how easy it was to book and Helen was very helpful and quick at getting back to me.
We found the location easy enough but it is up a long single track road but we didn't pass any other cars during our stay. Upon arriving at the farm at the top of the hill you are met by cows and sheep wandering around in the fields and wonderful views of the pods and countryside.
The parking is clearly marked and the paths lead straight to the pods. The Lavender pod was very nice and clean with a lovely view of the fields and Carsington Water in the distance. The pods have a fridge, toaster, chairs, foldable tables and cutlery and plates etc. Very well equipped. Outside on the decking is a picnic style table, fire pit & BBQ. Both used by us and easy to set up. Also outside tap which came in handy for rinsing cups or washing hands.
There is a separate shower/toilet block next to the honesty shop/info room. Both very clean and tidy and blended in well with the surroundings. The whole area is lovely and well thought out. The other pods are nearby but not close enough to be intrusive.
There is a covered kitchen area with sink and everything you need. We used this during our stay as my daughter rustled up some hot dogs & burgers.
I think we will definitely go back but in the summer as I think it will be a different experience and we will be able to sit out longer on the decking in the late summer evenings enjoying the views. We did enjoy it and although Helen and Craig sadly can't guarantee the weather we were warm enough in our pods. Wrapped up well for our night time toilet visit !!
Thanks for providing a great place to relax and hope to visit again.
All the best

This is the second stay for us at Mulino Pods and we will back again!
We stayed in Bluebell pod which has fantastic views over the countryside and Carsington Water. The pod has everything you need for your stay - kettle, toaster, fridge plus crockery and cutlery. There is also a BBQ and firepit to use. We love sitting on the deck admiring the views with the fire going and a glass of wine, or watching the sheep, cows, horse in the fields surrounding the pod. Look out for other local wildlife too - we saw bats and frogs and heard owls at dusk.
The shared bathroom facilities are spotlessly clean and eco-friendly cleaning products are used. Equally, the shared gas stove and sink area is very clean and recycling facilities are provided. Information provided via email in advance of our stay was great and helped us to plan what to bring. Recommendations of local eateries was also appreciated.
In the local area there are lots of things to do for couples and families. We have enjoyed walks and bike rides around the Tissington trail, tea and cake in Ashbourne, and lovely pub food and cider in the local village of Kniveton.

After looking for somewhere to camp with my dog Sherlock for a couple of nights to escape the hustle and bustle of life I managed to stumble across Mulino Pods. I found Mulino Pods by shear chance when I typed Camping Derbyshire into the Instagram search for inspiration on where to stay. After I found a picture of the pods on Instagram, I was pretty much sold. I found a link which lead to the website, and although not technically camping I booked a 2 night stay in the Damson Pod which is dog friendly. This seemed too good to be true. A dog friendly pod, in the perfect location, for a great price, without the hassle of having to pitch up a tent? It was perfect.
Upon arrival I was in awe of the amazing view from the pod of Carsington water as you looked at it from across the Derbyshire countryside. I was extremely impressed with the pod which housed a comfortable double bed with two chairs. Furnished with a kettle, toaster, currently, crockery (plastic), and a fridge big enough to store items for a few days or perhaps more.
The deck had a lovely wooden table with and provided with the pod was a bbq and fire pit, although, owing to the British weather, I wasn’t able to use.
There were two bathrooms which were relatively modern and clean. While I enjoyed my stay, there was a family of four in one of the other pods and I never found it difficult to use the bathroom for shower/ toilet, etc. there’s a little kitchen area provided with two gas hobs and facilities to wash up. There’s also a cosy information room with a little honesty shop to pay log burner packs.
There was parking space enough for 2 cars for each pod.
The owner of the pod was polite and accommodating with last minute changes.
The only issue I had was that as expected, in the Derbyshire countryside, phone signal was a little rubbish, which I didn’t mind as it helped with escaping the realities of life and helped with avoiding social media. The Wi-Fi was good when in the info room or in the bathroom but pretty poor when in the pod. The only time this was an issue was at night when I like to set up my iPad and watch a film with my pooch. This however, didn’t affect the stay.
Overall, this is a great place to stay and I will definitely be booking to stay again in the future. I have even recommended to a friend who is looking to book soon.

We stayed for just 2 nights in September. We went on this break as a couple without our children, who were away with grandparents elsewhere. We stayed in Damson pod. The pod was well equipped with a small fridge, toaster and kettle. There was plenty of cutlery and tableware, enough for the 2 of us for a few days. There was a double bed in the pod 2ith a sift mattress and clean bedding, the mattress was probably a bit too soft for us really but thats personal preference.
Outside of the pod we had amazing views, and good weather so that was great. There was a bench and table outside, as well as 2 folding deck chairs.
The shower room was lovely and clean, lovely strong shower in the mornings. The shared kitchen was also really well equipped but we did not use it. Same goes for the shared living/ info room.
We woke up one morning to several chickens walking around outside, was lovely. There were plenty of sheep outside in the field for company too.
This is perfect for a couple who want to take long walks or just relax. If you want more to do you are a bit limited we found. There is a tram museum near by and a water sports centre on the lake. Other than that it is quite a drive away from anywhere really. We went out for food a few times but had to drive again. The Cock Inn was lovely, we didn't turn up wearing the correct attire, dress smart for evening. We also ate at the Marston pub in Matlock, and we had breakfast at The Family Tree which was lovely too!
Overall a lovely peaceful break.

Thank you for the lovely detailed review of your stay with us and for sharing your stunning photos. Pleased you found everything you needed and had a peaceful stay, sorry the mattress was too soft for you. The farm is in a remote location, 3 miles drive away from the town of Ashbourne, so we haven't any places to visit directly on our doorstep. Glad you enjoyed a lovely child free getaway 🙂

Mulino Pods is a small glamping site in a lovely remote area of the Derbyshire Dales overlooked by a farmhouse. I rented the entire site of 3 pods for a weekend family get-together.
Although we didn't get ideal barbecue weather the site is well equipped enough that it wasn't really a big deal, which is exactly what you want when you go for glamping over camping. When it rained we all just huddled in the info room and ate there.
The galley kitchen next door had everything you need to cook on a hob and every pod had its own supply of rapeseed oil for frying.
It's ideal both for people who just want the quiet and solitude of the location or those who enjoy long walks, since it was a good hour + to the nearest pub!
The communication from the hosts before we arrived on-site was excellent and everything was perfect when we arrived so there was no need to ask for anything anyway. The pods each had a little sign welcoming the guests (including the dogs) 😁
The radiators in the pods were surprisingly powerful, so it didn't take long for me to thaw out and go to sleep.
We had a few little adventures like having to shoo some cows out of the road on the way to the pub (another farm, not Mulino Pods'!) and getting lost on the way back. We all had a fantastic time.
Somebody in our party managed to forget a hat there and the owner was kind enough to offer to post it back to us. Couldn't recommend the site enough. It's so so peaceful and picturesque.

We visited the pods Friday- Monday me my friend and her 4 year old. We loved the views and it was very relaxing the showers and shared bathroom were a lot nicer than I had imagined that they would be and were very easy to find even in the dark (with the torch) we stayed in lavender pod and it was very clean, cosy and there was a lot of room. Outside facilities were lovely and we had everything that we needed and if you do happen to forget anything there are a few bits in the honesty shop. Beware that you do have to drive out of the resort in order to access pubs, restaurants, local village etc which takes around 5 minutes. But it was fine once we got used to it. We used the shared kitchen once to make a simple dinner and also got some bits from there to help us with the bbq and it was clean and tidy.
We ate at the cock inn which was on the list of restaurants the owners sent by email before we got there. I highly recommend it, it was lovely. Also we ordered some burgers from the pod owners and Craig bought them down to us which was lovely as we were then able to cook them on the bbq. The fire pit was also a nice touch and the little one loved toasting very marshmallows on it. Power is a bit slow in the pod but what would you expect being in the middle of nowhere.
We visited Ashbourne for the day, carsington water (which allowed us to do a 7.5 mile walk with a buggie). We found it too difficult to walk around nearer to the pod as we had a little one who would get tired and were unable to push the pushchair very far as the roads aren’t so smooth. But there is so much to do around the area so you won’t be bored. There are a few other pubs that weren’t mentioned but they are nice to just stop by and have a drink, found some little pubs with play areas too. We were very lucky with the weather and it was such a wonderful experience. We would totally come back.
Even if you do take little ones with you they just love looking at the animals and being outdoors so nice for them to be away from phones, screens and tv. We all had such a wonderful time. And a few people have seen the photos and asked me where we had been as it looks lovely. You wouldn’t even know there were anybody else in the other pods.
Thankyou so much.

I have a question, how much for two nights from 23rd to 25th July
Thank you for the enquiry, based on two guests the price would be £220 for a two night weekend stay including extended departure time of 5pm on the Sunday. Our next available weekend is 2nd October. More details and availability can be viewed on our website
Thank you for the enquiry, there is a small grassed area next to the car park or depending on what animals are in the fields at that particular time there is usually a field to use with supervision. Hope this helps, please get in touch if you have any further questions kind regards Helen
Both Damson and Bluebell Pods have the view overlooking Carsington Water and surrounding countryside :)
Hi please can I asked where the bathrooms are located ie inside the pods or in an external building?
The two bathrooms are located in a separate building, central to the pods.
