Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We had an absolute blast staying here. From dealing with the admin team on the phone to sort our booking out to checking in on Fizz Friday, through to breakfast the next day, it was all Fab. The family room was spacious for 4 of us and a cot was provided. The best bits: the super helpful and nice staff, the breakfast selection and the swimming and gym facility. The not so best bits: I'd say the pool, though fun, was a bit cold so our little ones couldn't enjoy it for more than 15-20min. Finally, definitely get your little one the 'What a mess' (?) dessert. Definitely won't be forgetting the experience any time soon.

Hotel's Favourite
Really enjoyed our stay here. Stayed whilst visiting friends. Most of the staff - especially Olivia at the front desk are fantastic and friendly. In fact all the female receptionist are friendly and welcoming. The breakfast options were great and we really enjoyed not being rushed and having time to actually have a relaxed morning. Having a little chat with staff and chef. Overall very friendly. Everyone seemed relaxed and had time for guests. The bar staff needs to change her attitude - it was like the Spanish Inquisition when we went to redeem two complimentary drink voucher. What has it got to do with her is the question- really off putting. I would avoid the bar because she just puts people off frankly. It’s an inconvenience to order anything there. We had some snacks plates at the same time with said drinks and those were tasty. The staff that brought it over great too. Special thanks to the fitness/ pool staff - fantastic people all around. The facilities at the hotel were good too. Overall we really enjoyed our stay and would highly recommend. Special thanks to Olivia for making our little one feel special. Much appreciated. The quality of the service by most of the staff made the stay enjoyable. (Later that week we stayed at Portsmouth Holiday Inn - which was more expensive- and it was no where comparable to the Hilton East Midlands)

Myself and my husband came for his 21st birthday and had an amazing weekend. Can't fault anything, it was so amazing. Obviously, well needed rest. Pool, steam room, sauna room and jacuzzi were amazing and very relaxing. Staff for recognition: Joe (F&D), Charlie(F&D), Joanne (front desk)

Hotel and rooms are fine but very very dated with dark wood. Pillows too small and flat and daughters roll out bed mattress so bad she had to put a towel to lie on to lesson the impact. Will not eat here in the evening again now. Food was not great last time but this time not better but the service was so shockingly bad. I had to go to the bar to find a member of staff to order dessert at 22.40! Chicken wings were absolutely tiny - didn’t even know you could get chickens that small and the charcuterie board was small thin pieces of dried out meat and two dry hard bits of bread. The Eton Mess was a rip off - £8.50. Couple of berries, broken up dried meringue (which could have just been bought from Tescos and tasted like it) and a little bit of something else, not sure what- all laid out in an un - Eton Mess style. No cream or strawberries at all. Chef needs to get his act together here. Cheap quality food and cheap preparation.

I have just returned from a one night stay and conference with my dog. I have to say this hotel is one of the most dog friendly hotels I've ever stayed in. Everyone seemed to be a real dog lover. Right from check-in, my dog was made to feel like a celebrity by every member of staff! Biscuits galore, fuss and copious attention, my dog didn't want to leave! There was a £25 dog charge, payable on arrival which is pretty average for dog friendly hotels . On check-in, my dog received a goody bag, which was a lovely gesture. It contained a tennis ball, a bonio, poo bags and a few local walk suggestions. Though the hotel is pretty much surrounded by motorway there is grass all the way around (perfect for on lead doggy toilet trips). This hotel really is an oasis of calm - you'd have no idea where you were when you get inside. The communal areas of the hotel are beautiful, as is the swimming pool. We both slept really well. Room was a little tired, but HUGE and the bed was lovely and comfy. Breakfast was perfect, plentiful in choice and supply, (I liked the fact the Kcal for each item was displayed, as I can easily get carried away!). My dog had to skip the hotel breakfast and wait in the car as I was a solo traveller and though the lovely receptionist offered to set me up a table in the lobby, I wanted to be able to relax without the dog begging me for a sausage! Lunch was served by the hotel as part of the course. Delicious again, that chicken was incredible and there were plenty of healthy options. The gentleman in charge of looking after us at lunch was such a laugh and went out of his way to find me some peppermint tea. Unfortunately and very scarily, my dog managed to escape without me knowing from the conference room (not anyone's fault), but the lovely receptionist from the night before bought him back to safely with a smile on her face and couldn't have been nicer about my dog running riot around reception... phew! 100% would stay here again, I wish I could remember the names of the staff, they were all fab. Thanks for making us feel so welcome and particularly for making my dog feel like a king! These guys really know the benchmark for customer service. What a lovely place, I'd love to go back!

Don't stay here. Inspite of asking for a room with a double bed and putting it on my profile, I have never got a double bed, always a single bed. Plus I got the interconnecting room and could here the people next door nd the staff could do nothing to change my room, neither did they offer to tell the next door neighbours to shut up Don't stay here. The food is.nothing special and expensive.

Stayed with family for 1 night, and we had 3 rooms between us. Polite and friendly lady at check-in. Nice lobby/bar area. Tried to pay cash in the bar for a round of drinks but they don't have any change, which was a little disappointing, so ended up paying on card, not a problem but I do think places should also accept cash!! Rooms were clean but basic. Honestly, they do need refurbishment. The dark wood is quite dated, but overall was just ok. However, we did find the bed quite hard! Didn't really have a good night's sleep. Tried to have a shower late evening to find there was no hot water in our room. One of the other rooms in our party had the same issue. They were opersit us. I did try again in the morning, but it was still the same. We did mention this at check out, and they said they would get someone to look at it. Not ideal when you stay the night and can't shower! Breakfast was ok, they did seem to only put only a few items out at a time on the hot buffet, some of our party were waiting on some items, Usual choices of bacon, tomatoes, hash browns, mushrooms sausages, fried and scrambled eggs, Honestly We've had better breakfasts at other hilton hotels. Stayed at many hiltons but never this one, unfortunately we won't be back

Lovely to stay at Christmas with the tree & postbox with letters to Santa at reception. 😊 Nice touch having Prosecco on arrival. As gold members, we were upgraded to a bigger room - lovely warm shower, only downside was the lack of window light, but in some ways, it gave it character & individual style. Loved the pool area - maybe lucky with the time | went (late evening); nothing out of the ordinary, but I felt really relaxed & spent longer than normal there! Annoyed that I forgot to take a photo at breakfast, but I remember it being tasty. Enjoyable stay - thanks!

Great stay. Often stay at this hotel for work. This trip was a full 5 nights and from start to finish was great. Check in was a breeze, the team member was very polite and got me checked in with no fuss. Was given room 307 which was an upgrade to my booking and was a suite, very impressed. For a 5 night stay it gave the perfect amount of space. The room was well appointed, clean and obviously spacious. Once settled I went to the bar for some drinks and food. The team in the bar area were excellent. Their service was attentive but not overbearing. Throughout my 5 night stay the teams I encountered were great, very polite and always ready to help. As an example my colleagues and I had a very early conference call and with no hassle or drama we were offered a quiet area to complete our call whilst enjoying our breakfast. It may seem a little, but it meant a lot. Great stay and would very much recommend for business guests and leisure guests

This is a Beautiful Hotel the staff are so warm and welcoming, we were here for a work Xmas party and were greeted by the lovely reception staff and handed a glass of bubbles which was a lovely touch... the rooms are classy , tasteful and very clean however there were 2 not very full toilet rolls in our bathroom that should have been full ones or at least a spare one on the side as it ran out pretty quickly.... our friends that also stayed in the hotel said the same... also some of the milk that was on the tea and coffee tray was unfortunately off so perhaps that needs looking into but I wouldn't mark the hotel down a star for that... We had an amazing time it was a great party ,fabulous Xmas food , great drinks and a fab atmosphere!! Thanks to everyone at the Hilton.
