It was just a one night stopover. The room was excellent and superbly equipped, as was the bathroom. if you like watching planes then this is the location for you. Huge panoramic window overlooking the eastern end of east midlands airport with a pair of comfy arm chairs to sit in.

I had room service dinner and breakfast which had been redesigned to be served as take-out food as a safety procedure, The pizza was brilliant as was the self assemble baked cheesecake with fruit compote and whipped cream in separate containers.

Breakfast was a bit of an odd ensemble of cereal , fruit, jam, croissant, cereal bars, cheese and hard boiled egg but no butter? That needs a bit of a rethink, I think. A fridge in the room is always a plus as is the hotels willingness to send up "real" milk.

Reception were exemplary on check in, minimal contact as requested and even came up and pushed my bill under my door so that I could pack and go in the morning. Great service. The sort of service that makes you go back. Which I will.

Due to Covid my husband and I haven’t had a break this year, so when we saw our local Radisson had an amazing deal on we jumped at booking it to chill out together.

We booked a runway room as my husband loves watching the planes.

The lovely Dan was on reception, he couldn’t of been anymore helpful to us, explained all the Covid restrictions to us so we fully understood what we could or could not do. There were partitions for checking in and sanitisers everywhere.

We booked in a slot to use the swimming pool. An added bonus to our break.

Our room was brilliant, watched so many planes landing & taking off. Very modern room and a huge bed. We’d defiantly book a runway room again.

The only downside had nothing to do with the hotel or staff at all. We had a traveller family on the same corridor who screamed and shouted till well after midnight and then started again at 6am!! Then at breakfast they caused as much chaos.

Breakfast... wow today full English was back on. We were amazing how they had adapted the breakfast. The fruit and continental food was in individual containers for our safety and it looked so presentable. Fantastic service.
We both had the cooked breakfast, served to us by a lovely lady. No faults what so ever.

Thank you all so much for looking after us a break we needed after a rubbish year. Dan the fan was perfect!

Thanks Anna & Paul

On travelling throughout the UK I am always on the lookout for higher quality hotels and rooms at a fair rate. Being a hotel airport the room rates were low due to the lack of travel (COVID).

We booked the 'Presidential Suite' which was a really large bedroom with a separate lounge, huge bathroom with separate shower, dressing room and two toilets. Lovely amenities and complimentary drinks from the mini bar, but these were a little confusing unless you like Gin and diet coke :-)

The room was clean, however a previous guest had left a small amount of clothes in one of the drawers, which clearly hadn't been checked by housekeeping. A little worrying given the current situation but I did speak to reception straight away and it was dealt with swiftly and professionally.

All of the staff were kind and courteous, friendly but professional at the same time,

My husband used the pool but as usual, I'd forgotten to pack swimwear. He said it was very clean and nice.

Food was OK. Dietary requirements for me do make things a little difficult but I managed to find something. On leaving the restaurant we walked by someone who had ordered the curry and it smell amazing... wish I'd tried it.

We'll definitely return if visiting clients in this area again.

We stayed here for a three night New Years Eve event and were very impressed with the hotel. It has a pool/spa but unfortunately we didn’t have time to investigate this facility on this occasion.
Our room was lovely and spacious with every need catered for... large TV, hairdryer, iron & ironing board, lovely large towels and plenty of toiletries, a varied selection of hot drinks and bottled water with ice available from a machine down the hallway. We had a lovely bathroom with underfloor heating and spacious walk in shower, however were two windows through from the bathroom to the bedroom which we didn’t quite understand the need for, not only did they give a lack of privacy but if one of you needed to use the toilet in the night the light from the bathroom/toilet shone through and disturbed your partner so we ended up having to buy a small torch to use during the nighttime visits.
The meals we had were all lovely and the breakfast choice was amazing, with vegan and gluten free options readily available so I was very impressed.
Overall I was really happy with our stay and would definitely recommend this hotel.

We booked into the Radisson at short notice after cutting short a stay at a London hotel which seems to be using Covid-19 as an excuse to cut every imaginable corner. I was somewhat worried that the Radisson would be the same but it was the exact opposite. The hotel manages to be welcoming despite observing the social distancing rules scrupulously. The room was spotless and cleaned to such a degree that the remote control is sterilised and then put in a sealed bag. The room service was excellent and delivered to the room with real plates and cutlery.

We had a runway view, which was great although planes are somewhat sparse from East Midlands at the moment.

A great stay and all credit to the staff, who were fantastic.

We (my hubby and I) stayed at the Radisson Blu East Midlands for a Saturday night stay at the end of August. We had booked for an event in March at Donington race circuit which was cancelled due to Covid, and despite Radisson emailing to say all of their hotels would refund all existing stays, it turns out the East Midlands Hotel is not Radisson, its a franchise that don't have to comply with Radisson policies and they would only issue a credit note valid for this year. So we booked for August to try and get a summer night away, but there is nothing else to do in the area unless you want to visit a park..

We booked a runway view room to try to use up some of the credit note, it was a nice room with a complimentary nespresso machine and some other drinks, comfortable enough and fairly clean. There were only 2 pillows though, 1 per person, so you are stuffed if you need to sleep with your head higher.

We decided to eat in the restaurant to use up the rest of the credit note, which was a big mistake. To start with, the tables were not socially distanced and they weren't seating people far enough apart. One family of 3 asked to move for this reason and the staff seemed confused about why despite the family explaining there was less than a metre between them and the couple they had just started at the next table (there was a pillar between the tables but nothing separating the occupants of the table accept a chair width of space). My hubby ordered the cheese burger which he said was tasty and hot but I ordered the "Basil and Mozzarella Pizza" which looked lovely when it arrived and was hot, but didn't have single bit is seasoning and actually turned out to be a shop bought Chicago Town Tomato Stuffed Crust Pizza. I asked for some parmesan or something to season the completely tasteless pizza but all they could offer me was bbq sauce. Someone, I assume the restaurant manager told me that they had given me my starter for free but when I named the brand and exact pizza I suspected they had served up, all she said was "right", but her face formed an expression that I can describe as I told you so expression as if the person in the kitchen had said noone
would know the distance. I guess it was my bad as I assumed it would be homemade as a 4* hotel, it was not worth £14 that's for sure.

Breakfast was OK, although not a great choice of hot food for a vegetarian. Again, no social distancing at all between tables or guests or staff.

Not what I expect from the Radisson name and I will never stay in a Radisson hotel again after this stay.

Responded 17 Sept 2020
Dear Fidi79 We're very sorry you didn't enjoy your stay with us back in August. You booked a heavily discounted prepayable, non refundable, non amendable rate with us for your stay back in March . When the event you were due to attend at Donington Park was cancelled you requested a refund of your payment. We had no legal or moral responsibility to provide either a refund or credit note as you had booked a prepayable rate. However, as a gesture of goodwill we agreed a credit note. Contrary to your view that there is nothing to do in the local area there is, in normal circumstances, actually a great number of interesting places to visit and numerous activities available locally. Both Derby and Nottingham are only a 20 minute drive with Leicester and the Peak District only 30 minutes away. In this large geographical area there any number of leisure possibilities with a great number less than 15 minutes from our hotel. With regard to your experience at our hotel spare pillows are available in the wardrobe and of course we would have delighted to provide further pillows had you requested them. The tables and chairs in our restaurant have been laid out and measured to ensure they are at least 1m apart and our hotel has been independently certified as Covid safe by SGS, the world's leading inspection, verification, testing and certification company. We were pleased to learn your husband enjoyed his burger but disappointed to learn you didn't enjoy your pizza and your feedback will be shared with our Executive Head Chef and his team. I can confirm that the pizza you were served was not a Chicago Town frozen pizza. Please accept our apologies once again and we hope to welcome you back in the future. Kind regards Daniel

We took advantage of a cheaper room rate and ‘free breakfast, presumably due to fewer passenger flights during the Covid pandemic, to stay here while visiting friends and family in the area. We were impressed by the helpful and friendly service received and found our room and bathroom provided all we required for a good night’s rest. We were pleased to find the restaurant serving meals on our Sunday evening arrival (often not the case), although we found the menu rather limited. Parking at £5/night was welcome. We would stay here again and recommend this hotel.

We really enjoyed our stay in the Presidential Suite, the room is great for a family with all the space, 2 washrooms, bath and separate shower, dressing room etc.

We used room service for dinner on both evenings and found the prices reasonable/as expected for a hotel of this quality. Food was very good, delivered without a long wait.

We used the pool a lot during our stay, it was great that we didn't have to book slots and the facilities were always clean and tidy.

We stayed in order to attend an event an hour further north and it was a good base for us, very accessible. You can walk to the services around the corner and there are other hotels near by but there isn't loads to do, for us this wasn't a problem.

Overall a great stay.

We stayed overnight for a pre holiday flight from East Midlands Airport, with car parking too for our holiday duration. We decided to treat ourselves to a presidential suite & what a treat it was!! Exceptional customer service throughout, check in was super smooth and they noted our outbound and inbound flight times and arranged their in house shuttle service to and from the airport. On the morning of our outbound flight they were ready & waiting to take us to the airport, and on our return we followed their instructions by calling from their hotel direct phone, just located inside the arrivals at East Midlands airport- they came straight away! Perfect Service, very professional and friendly drivers.

The presidential suite was fabulous, a huge bedroom, separate double sofa bed all made up for my teenage daughters in the lounge area of the room- it still felt very spacious even with a double bed in it. A big dining table in the lounge area, a spacious area for making drinks and a well stocked mini bar. Dressing room, plenty of room for hanging clothes and a huge shower/bathroom. It was all perfect and gave us a beautiful start to our much anticipated abroad family holiday. We ate our evening meal in the restaurant at the hotel and thoroughly enjoyed all of our food- once again exceptional service!

We felt very safe in this hotel due to the hotels covid implementations, staff all wearing masks/screens up and plenty of hand sanitiser stations all about.

To summarise, this hotel is just fabulous and the location is spot on for the airport! We sat outside in the evening before our flight and watched the planes approach to land.

We will definitely be using this hotel in future for our pre holiday over night stay!

From the moment we arrived at Radisson we could tell that it would be a nice stress free stay. Carparking was ample and simple at £5 per night. Check-in was very quick and the member of staff on reception was informative and pleasant.

We stayed in a superior runway view room on the 4th floor (401) which we were thoroughly pleased with, it was spacious, modern and spotless! What made the room really special was the expresso machine, mini bar, huge comfortable bed and the very thoughtful birthday surprise left by Anna in housekeeping, the bottle of bubbly and chocolate were very much appreciated and enjoyed!

With runway views we spent a lot of time relaxing by the window with a drink watching the planes come and go and we enjoyed the speaker in the bathroom so you can relax in the large bath whilst listening to your favourite channels. A true moment of escapism was enjoyed and we can't wait to return in the near future and maybe even try out the pool.
