Very accommodating place to stay; friendly hosts and some nice little touches with a welcome pack containing coffee, tea biscuits etc, and toiletries in the bathroom. We stayed for a couple of night in a room with it's own access off the street.Everything is nearby in Castleton, with plenty of eateries etc, and the caverns are within walking distance.

A wonderful stay at Ramblers Rest. A warm welcome from Claire and Robbie. Nothing was too much trouble and they even offered to give us a lift to the wedding we were attending! The room was clean and the welcome hamper was great. Location was perfect and the room was spotless. Thank you for a great stay!

We had a lovely 2 night's here at the Ramblers Rest. We were there for a wedding taking place just up the track and it was the perfect location for both that and the lovely town of Castleton. There was a great parking spot, easy check in with lovely hosts and a nice comfy bed!

Biggest bed I have ever slept in! (UK based) Honestly I can not rate this place enough. We stayed in room 5 for 2 nights. The room was immaculate and so spacious. En-suite facilities had a bath only, but that was totally understandable when you looked at the height of the bathroom ceiling. Breakfast was provided 'all at once' so there was various options available and fresh milk and orange juice in the FRIDGE which was a god send. Claire and Rob were the friendliest and most likable people we have met. I would totally recommend Ramblers Rest and will definitely be returning! (With more wine 😉)

Such a lovely place! Claire and Robbie are super friendly and very welcoming. We stayed in room 4 which was spotlessly clean. Bed was so comfy and the shower was lovely. There was even a welcome hamper full of breakfast food, as well as milk and juice in the fridge when we arrived. We especially liked the tables outside overlooking the water where we had a drink after a long walk - definitely better than any beer garden :) Would definitely recommend and wouldn't hesitate to stay again if we're im the area!

I’m not one for reviews, but when it’s above my expectations I believe a place deserves a mention. Travelling as a solo motorcyclist around the uk. An absolute gem, lovely hosts, lovely spot, clean and tidy. What more can I say.

Our stay was spoiled by a medical episode in my part, but memorable for the helpful and caring assistance by Claire. She went out of her way to make sure she could help and it was hugely appreciated. As to whether I recommend the Rambler's Rest?100%. Ideally located, comfortable, sensibly priced. What more can you ask?
