OH MY GOD, the food here was out of this world and worth every penny. The room was a little bit too small for ourselves, However, the staff and the food made up for this. We would happily stay again when we are up this way and I couldn't recommend Windy Harbour enough. Thanks to all for giving us a great stay.

My in laws are regulars here but on Christmas Day for £90.00 per head was unjustified. They waited for ages for a drink and did not get offered one until after their starter! There was one girl waiting on everyone… When their dinner arrived, it was piled up on a plate too small and they had to ‘look’ for their food. Shoddy service and not worth £90.00..

Thank you for your review we are sorry yourselves and mr and mrs neighbour didn't enjoy your Christmas Day meal yes we have one bar maid on serving drinks while the other two gentlemen were serving meals out so you didn't get either cold meals or dried up meals the reason it £90 is because we have to pay staff double pay Christmas Eve and Christmas Day all the prepairing the cost of food heating electricity as im sure you are aware has gone up but we do hope to see you all again soon kind regards windy harbour

Stayed for one night on a Saturday. The good was that staff were very friendly, hotel was clean and well maintained and view from the window was lovely. Not so good was that room was small for an out of city guest house. We could hear the couple in the next room having a conversation. Having booked a nonrefundable room we were advised there was a party on that night. Could hear the lyrics of the songs so definitely check if there is an event before you book. Will stick to other hotels in glossop next time.

My husband and I visited Windy Harbour for our 2nd wedding anniversary, and absolutely loved it. We stayed for 2 nights and were made to feel so welcome! On the first night we ate in the restaurant and had drinks in the snug/lounge area. Our meal was lovely, one of the best steak pies I’ve had in a while. It was also good that we could just put everything on our room tab and pay check out. The next day we had a lovely breakfast before heading out to walk the Old Glossop and B-29 Crash Site Circular (highly recommend). When we returned, we had another drink in the snug before getting changed to head out into Glossop for a meal. We struggled to get a taxi, so Lee gave us a lift which was so kind of him! When we got back the place was heaving as there was a surprise 80th birthday party (which we were aware of), but Lee spotted us and came over to see if we needed anything. Again, nothing was too much trouble at all. All in all, a brilliant stay! The location is ideal, the food/drinks were great, the service was faultless and we will definitely return in the future. I terms of the rooms, they had everything you’d need. En-suite, toiletries, tea/coffee making facilities, hairdryer, iron/ironing board (on request), super comfy beds, great views, and the room was lovely and warm. Thanks to Lee and all the staff for making us feel so welcome.

My husband and I stayed at the Windy Harbour for the night. It is the perfect location if you like stunning views, scenic walks and friendly people. It was a lovely experience. On arrival, we were greeted by Lee who was very warm and welcoming. He showed us around and to our room. The room was on the smaller side but enough room to get ready and the double bed was clean and comfy. The ensuite was clean with lovely fresh white towels. The view from our room was spectacular. In the evening we had drinks by the fire which was lovely and cosy. Breakfast was fab too. We had continental, cooked breakfast and as much tea/coffee as we wanted. Very delicious. Overall, we had a lovely experience at Windy Harbour and will definitely return.

Just to note I attended a 70th birthday lunch for 24 people. It wasn't a set meal. It was pre orders everybody got what they wanted. What should have been hot was hot what should have been cold was cold. Spotlessly clean as always. Excellent experience would definitely recommend. From entering to a lovely log fire to leaving well fed and watered. Top job

Thank you to Lee for making sure I was looked after as I was staying on my own for a business trip. Nothing was too much trouble and I found the room really comfortable and bed comfy too. Dinner and breakfast were great. Perfect for what I needed!

We ending up here purely by accident as our car had a tire blow out and need somewhere to wait for towtruck. What a fabulous place to stumble across extremely welcoming and we had a lovely hot homecook lunch. Sauage and mash was delicous, kids pizza was hugh and yummy . The puddings were also homemade and delicious. When towturck arrived there were too many of us to fit in. But luckly the landlord/ owner offered to give us a lift back to our holiday cottage. We couldnt thank him enough as we arent local and he made sure we were delivered back safely whilst car went to the garage. Great food and above and beyond service. Thank so much

A really enjoyable and relaxing stay. Friendly, helpful staff led by the ever-present Lee. Comfortable, quiet, clean bedroom. Excellent food in the restaurant and good drinks from the bar. Great base for exploring the Peak District. Cosy lounge available for residents too. Highly recommended!

Stayed one night travelling on business and had dinner and breakfast . Had the owner or any of the staff asked me how was my food or room I'd have told them but they never did including the owner / manager at checkout who only told me how much was due to pay. Had he asked I'd have told him the following. Very small cramped room which smelt with small wardrobe around head of the bed which you can bang your head on if not careful. Small bed with raised base board above mattress level so very uncomfortable if you're over 6 foot tall as feet hit hard base unless lie diagonally, ok as long as alone . My room smelt - damp / musky smell, not sure what it was but it stank. Poor underpowered electric shower . Tiny mirror above equally small sink set at ok height for someone short for shaving , bigger mirror needed for taller people Toilet seat delaminating - looked awful Dining room bar area , characterless plain Hall like room and at breakfast the painter and decorator was in with his paint splattered duat sheets in the dining room floor, hus radio on with his music choice and paint fumes for us to listen to and breathe whilst me and other guests were eating breakfast. Dinner was OK, steak requested medium came well done , presentation a bit like a wetherspoons grill though . Cooked Breakfast decent enough, probably best bit of the stay but tea Served in an awful stainless steel catering tea pot with lid which didn't close fully, damaged probably. Some earthenware or China crockery needed for a more refuned touch and general attention to quality / detail needed all round - all very functional, average at best and no style . Staff friendly and pleasant though. Recommend owners visit other b and bs or even Premier Inn who have far better beds , bed rooms and showers , equally good breakfasts and can be cheaper. Investment needed here which I guess is always challenging . I wouldn't consider a return visit, would find somewhere else to try.
