I spent a fabulous week down Higham , Kent which was my 3rd trip down and after a long journey from Tyneside , I was greeted by hazel and Sean the owners and was offered a welcoming cup of tea 'and a tea cake ' fantastic views and am looking forward to be travelling down to Rochester early August 🤞😉
Beautiful house with stunning views. Hazel the proprietor could not have been more welcoming and friendly. Spotlessly clean comfortable room with ample complimentary refreshments and snacks. Highly recommended and we will certainly re- visit.
The beautiful weather probably helped, but Field View was one of the best stays I had during a solo trip. Hazel was more than kind, as well as willing to chat with me about the area and its history. The room was very comfortable, and the view could not be improved on.
What a lovely B&B. My brother and I were greeted by Hazel to her lovely home and offered a welcome cuppa after out long journey from Cornwall. Hazel was so welcoming, a real peoples person. A stunning location for this centrally located property set in peaceful surroundings with stunning views. Bedrooms were spotlessly clean, spacious and comfortable, with tea making facilities, water and snacks. Breakfast was very tasty, a choice of cereals, fresh fruit, toast, crumpets and warm croissants, we were also offered a full English breakfast, but we declined. Thank you for such a warm welcome. Recommended. Will hopefully be back
We booked three rooms for myself & wife, daughter & her boyfriend and our very close friends. We were there for one night, after our other daughters wedding at Knole Country House nearby in Higham. Our friends had booked us in (as we were somewhat busy prior to the wedding which took place at 1pm) so we really didn't know what to expect. We arrived at the Field View around 1am in the morning after a very busy wedding day. First impressions were good, despite being shattered, both emotionally and physically. A bright, comfortable, modern en-suite room. Huge, comfortable bed with more than enough plump pillows and cushions. Clean and very comfortable. A kettle and range of drinks - coffee, tea, hot chocolate & bottled water, snacks - crisps, mini cheddars & biscuits available.Fluffy, clean towels in abundance. My wife and I slept well as did the other couples. We woke, and two couples made it down for breakfast (the youngsters didn't....lightweights!). We were faced by a table laid for people - groanong under the weight of fresh fruit - apricots, strawberries, apples, bananas, raspberries - yoghurts - cereals - pastries including croissants and pai au chocolat, an endless supply of freshly made toast, non-stop tea, coffee & hot chocolate and a superbly cooked and high quality full English breakfast - sausage, bacon, tomato, mushroom, hash browns, eggs and offers of second helpings of everything. Superb hosting and a splendid garden, complete with pond and Koi, overlooking the fields (guess that's where the name came from!) and then across the Thames made us forget how close to Gravesend and Rochester we were staying. The only criticism (and this isn't of the host or accommodation!) is that it's shown as 10 minutes walk from the Knole Country House - if it were in a straight line, it might be, but you will need a taxi as there is no direct route - you need to walk a good mile and then double back to get to the Field View. However, it would be worth every step.…
