Dropped in on the way to the bird of prey centre. Food was amazing. We had 2 sandwiches, one steak and a fish and chip one. Everything looked home made, chips still looked potato shaped, onion rings were obviously home made. The fish and chip sandwich was huge, 3 slices of bread. I had the additional mushy peas and they were also great. Staff were friendly and helpful. Will return if we are ever in the area again.
MrsCapricorn and I (and a good friend) always make a point of lunching here on the way back from a buffalo farm near Northallerton. We have never been disappointed. The staff are very friendly and efficient and the food is of excellent quality and quantity. It might not be the cheapest place around, but it would be difficult to beat on value for money, Pop in if you are passing through.
Delicious food! We came here family of 4 on a lunchtime we all got a main and desert. The main I got was in the specials board and was salmon in a Thai type sauce- fabulous! The food was superb and plentiful Would highly recommend a visit if in the area
I stayed at the Kings arms for two nights and enjoyed every moment! The staff was excellent and the service outstanding, I had dinner one evening and the curry was top notch - breakfast was excellent too I highly recommend as a peaceful, relaxing venue near Thirsk,
I was travelling with one of my sons a couple of weeks ago. We broke our journey by staying at the Kings Arms overnight. If honest I didn't have great expectations but was pleasantly surprised. I got it completely wrong. We received a friendly welcome. The bar was very clean. The restaurant served excellent food, much better than the usual pub fare. I had fresh monkfish (not frozen), which was very tasty. The room was clean and well appointed, even if my son did complain about my snoring. Breakfast also did not disappoint. I realise my yard stick is London prices, but I felt it offered excellent value for money. I will stay again if doing the same trip. Well done!!
Great friendly pub, great beer and excellent food. The Jalfrezi curry was the best I've ever eaten, so good that I ordered it on two occasions. Everything we had was fantastic and well priced, will definitely be back. Sid & Judith Hodson
An overnight stay to celebrate our wedding anniversary. The room was very comfortable. Only issue wifi wasnt the best in the room. Had a delicious dinner in the restaurant, plenty of choice & really tasty. Staff very friendly & welcoming. Would highly recommend!
On the way north on business, this was a good choice. Warm welcome, clean rooms, great food and good value, won’t hesitate to stop again. There is a local tv aerial issue but the i player works on the tv. Nice local beer and decent wine to go with dinner.
We just had a lovely weekend here. The food was amazing and delicious. The staff were really friendly and helpful. The room was really comfortable and immaculately clean. I highly recommend it to you!
Had a two night break. Fabulous clean comfortable room great bathtub in bathroom. Landlord could not do enough to ensure we had a great stay. Ate in the restaurant both nights and food was well cooked and some great options that were a bit different to normal pub grub. The use of local produce was evident. Would recommend to stay or just for food.
