Myself and the wife spent three nights here as of the 23rd April 2017; great base for travelling to York, Harrogate and Whitby! Breakfast and evening meals were of a high standard and choice, staff were lovely and attentive, and room although a little on the small side had all modern amenities and was very clean and comfortable! Overall a...

Stayed at the Angel for one night before my Sons wedding. Room very clean and everything you could need. Had breakfast, lunch and dinner at the hotel and the food was excellent with generous portion sizes. The staff were very attentive and I would stay at this Hotel again.

Easy to find off A1(M) with good parking. Excellent staff, had room overlooking garden with FAN - a key plus for us, clean, quiet. Good range of beer and wine. We found food a bit pricey, but the breakfast options were good - it is sad that more hotels do not offer omlettes as the Angel does - it was...

So how does a tiny quiet village have such a gem in its midst? This is the second time I've stayed here and the value for money is so worth it. I love the rooms with en suite bathrooms. They're tastefully decorated to a high standard and the heated towel rail in the bathroom means you always get a dry...

I had not been to The Angel for many years and that was for a quick lunch following a meeting nearby but having looked online and wanting somewhere between home (Harrogate) and the coast; The Angel was chosen for dinner, bed and breakfast. I have to say that our bed (see previous review) was very comfortable (room 5) and I...

Value for money was outstanding but can I suggest a few improvements on the residential side? Mattresses are obviously a number one priority and The Angels were poor quality. Shower mats are essential to give people, especially the elderly, a more secure footing when having a shower and of course a GRAB RAIL. The restaurant was excellent but the new barman...

Being advised of the quality of the food the wife and I decided to pop in for lunch. There wasn't a full menu just a special offer of 2 mains and 2drinks for circa £19 or sandwiches. Wife decided to gave a club sandwich and I unfortunately had the gammon off their lunch specials. The piece of gammon would have...
