We stayed on Sunday 6th April .we arrived late in the day so missed getting anything to eat .The owner told us where the restaurants were or if we wanted we could get a takeaway and eat it in our room which we thought was nice of him .our room was clean and basic but being honest it was all we needed . Yes its a bit dated but remember that her has lost his income for 6 months and is only 20% at capacity so living really to pay the bills . We came down in the morning for breakfast and received a full cooked breakfast which was really tasty. We was going to book a taxi but the owner did it for us . If your looking for a plush hotel look else where . If you want to have a basic clean hotel with a lovely breakfast book here and help a local business.
Clean room
Comfortable bed
Hot shower
Clean and plenty towels
Coffee and tea facilities

As a group of 9 cyclists all with bikes, it wasn't an easy job to find a hotel in Wellingborough but the Columbia did the job well. The rooms were clean and shower was good. The owner was friendly and helpful with our bikes, plus the breakfast was delicious and of good quality. Give this place a try and you won't regret it.

I only booked and stayed for one night but would book again when I'm next in the area. My room, although single, had enough space and didn't feel claustrophobic like some single rooms. A good sized desk for working at with overhead light. Kettle with ample tea and coffee and biscuits were a nice touch. Shower room gave plenty of hot water with a heated towel rail too. A small LCD tv came with freeview. Bed was really comfortable and pillows gave a good night's sleep. My room faced the main road so there was some road noise so in preference I'd prefer a room overlooking the rear car park. Good value for money - it's not the Ritz but it doesn't pretend to be more than it is. My breakfast was cooked to order and was delicious.

This hotel is a complete disaster! We checked in to this dilapidated hotel that was once probably really nice. Got to our room which was really really cold with single glazed windows which didnt help, room is so dated and basic. The noise off the road was terrible. We asked the owner why it was so cold and he laughed and said the heating goes on at 5 for a few hours. Slept well once warm but heating went off half way through the night and was Baltic once again! Menu is limited.... very limited. The only good point I can say is it's very close to a pub called the coach & horses which is 'warm' and serves fantastic food and drinks. I wont be back and suggest they shut their doors now!

Definitely a perfect location and if you're after an inexpensive hotel in central Wellingborough, this is the place. However, the decoration is tired & dated, the breakfast is extremely bland, and the rooms are 19thC small with creaking floorboards so you hear everything at all times. Certainly will go to a modern IBIS or TRAVLELODGE which is a similar price and infinitely more bearable.

I stayed here as I was working in the local area. The hotel is clean & cosy & the owner (Tofail) & his Wife are friendly, accommodating & hospitable. The breakfast was also super! The location is good with plenty of parking to the rear of the Hotel. Some good Takeaways nearby.

I booked this hotel whilst on a business trip in the area. I booked for 4 nights through booking.com and was told that my booking was non refundable. When I walked in the hotel is extremely dated. I had booked what I thought was a twin room, however when I got to my room which was very smelly and not the cleanest and was situated at the furthest corner of the hotel, up a very narrow staircase and quite smelly hallways, there were 3 single beds crammed into a room that was even too small to house a standard double bed. It was furnished with a mish mash of furniture which looked like it had been bought from a charity shop. The room was freezing cold due to the old wooden window frames which faced onto a main road, which again due to the gaps in the window frames was very noisy. The shower wasn't strong enough to actually wet me unless I ran around in the shower, plus it kept going from boiling hot to freezing cold. When I arrived there was one toilet roll with approximately 12 sheets left on it and no spare roll. I used this toilet roll on day one, it was not replenished all week. I looked inside the kettle and decided not to use it as it didn't look hygienic at all. Luckily I had a friend in the area and was able to stay at theirs on a night so I basically used this place as a wardrobe, but kept my case tightly closed as I wasn't sure what exactly was roaming about in there.
