Set in rural Sussex, in the shadow of the South Downs, this exceptional family run free house is a joy to behold. In Bramber village (Best kept village in South East England multiple years) The Castle Inn Hotel and Conference Centre sits in magnificent splendour. The front of the Inn is bathed in glorious summer hanging baskets, meticulously cared for.To the rear is an English garden that, quite literally, takes your breath away. Packed with almost every plant imaginable for a garden there are a few surprises in store, such as the Strawberry and Tomato plants that seemingly go unnoticed until their juicy red fruit appears. Tranquillity best describes the atmosphere as you sit back and relax, only to be replaced by awe and wonder as Mr. and Mrs. Swan glide effortlessly passed on the stream, not five feet away, with their half a dozen signets

The Castle Inn Hotel is commended for its friendly service and clean, comfortable rooms, with many guests finding them well-equipped and appreciating the modern bathrooms. We were visiting family in Shoreham, decided to spend the night at the Castle Inn and to have Sunday lunch there as well. The dining area was huge but I think the adverse weather conditions (Storm Darragh) meant that only a few of the tables were occupied, leading to the restaurant lacking any atmosphere. It was a shame as the Sunday roast dinner was excellent We spent the rest of the afternoon in the bar area which was cosy and quite busy.

This is an old pub and the plumbing in our room was a little temperamental, but didn't spoil our stay. The bed was huge and very comfortable and we had a good nights sleep despite the stormy weather conditions. We would have preferred bath sheets rather than bath towels especially for those of us with a fuller figure.

The breakfast was fine without being exceptional, but to be fair we enjoyed our stay and thought it good value for money. We would certainly stay there again.

We had a very pleasant, one-night stay at the Castle Inn Hotel, set in a beautiful part of rural Sussex. We also had a lovely evening meal in the restaurant. The king size bed was very comfortable and the ensuite bathroom clean and well equipped. The staff couldn't have been more helpful and even permitted an early check-in to enable us to freshen up before attending a local event early in the afternoon. Nearby (1m) Steyning is well worth a visit.

Breakfast being included in the price made this a very reasonable priced stay.

The room was warm & cosy. The bed was comfy. The shower had good pressure & stayed at a relatively warm temperature.

Sky TV in the room with access to Sky Movies.

Direct access to the bar meant I could take my drink to my room with me when they closed up without having to go out in the cold.

The staff were welcoming & friendly.

We requested a quiet de luxe double room with king size bed, but on arrival were shown to a double room with a double bed by the car park which we did not think was not what we requested or worth what we had paid.
On returning to reception to ask to change rooms we were told the hotel did not have any king size beds, and when I went online to show the receptionist all bed types available, she told us they were fully booked .
We considered going elsewhere but it was late afternoon and we were tired and unhappy at our treatment so we asked to speak to the manager .
The Manager was helpful and immediately offered two available rooms with king size beds which we transferred to . The room was fantastic ! Clean, comfortable with a bath and shower.
Our evening meal was great ! They have a very good evening chef unfortunately breakfast was inedible ,I ordered an omelette which was burned and greasy.
A feedback request was sent to me and I raised all these points directly with the manager as training is required in areas unfortunately to date I have not received a response from him
All in all, the inn is comfortable and the rooms good value but mis information given on our arrival marred our stay

Enjoyed a very comfy stay.
Room was on the small side but did not feel claustrophobic there is plenty of storage space and amenities.
Bed was nice and comfy and there were spare pillows in the wardrobe.
Full sky TV including sports and movies was an unexpected bonus and was very well appreciated.
Had dinner in the bar in the evening, food was good and quite a few menu options.
Having breakfast included is always good, breakfast times are quite early (7:30-9:15) compared to other hotels. Staff were friendly, tea/coffee/juice/cereal and toast is stationed in the corner of the room.
I was slightly disappointed with my breakfast, I went for the “full breakfast” which had a menu price of £12 when it arrived it was 1 sausage, 1 slice of bacon, 1 hash brown, 1 egg and a small portion of beans. I did expect it to be larger for the cost on the menu (breakfast was included in the room rate) our party also had eggs Benedict and poached eggs on toast which were both good.
With free car parking down the side of the hotel it was a good value and comfy stay.
If I was in the area again I would return.

We were off to a promising start: friendly staff welcoming us, we asked if we could get a packed lunch the next morning for our walking trip, and that could be arranged. We were asked what we wanted on our sandwiches, white or brown bread, we were advised to take some fruit from the breakfast table, and they could fill our waterbottles. It was put on our room number, since we’d also.booked a table in the restaurant that night.
The room was small but nice, with good beds and a clean bathroom with an excellent shower.
For our evening meal we went to the restaurant. There was a lot of staff walking around, who were mostly friendly, but chaotic. Someone would come for our order, then leave the menues on the table so the next person would come to take our order. The person we ordered drinks from couldn’t tell us anything about what was on tap. This type of thing happened a lot. The team was not really a team yet. Also the table was very sticky. Food was good though. We asked for the bill to sign and put on our room. Three people came to the table to ask if we wanted the bill and we still had to go to the bar to get it arranged because none of the staff actually came back.
Back in the room we had some trouble. The small room didn’t have a window to ge fresh air and when we left the door to the bathroom open because there was a window we could open, the motion-triggered light would switch on every time we moved, While in the shower however, the light would go out, and not go on again no matter how much you waved.
Next morning the breakfast was very nice (different table, also sticky) fresh, plenty of choice. No fruit however, and when we asked about the fruit for our packed lunch, they said they didn’t have any. The man yesterday apparently didn’t know that. After breakfast we asked if our packed lunches were ready, but nobody knew about that and there was a lot of flailing by several people, more concerned with how this could have gone wrong than with going to fix the problem, so we said we would pack our stuff and maybe in the meantime they could fix the sandwiches. When we came down it turned out they were all out of chutney so someone had gone out to buy some. It took a good while for that to be sorted, when we would have been happy with a tomato or something on the cheese. The man yesterday hadn’t known about the chutney either. Oh well…

The hotel is situated in Bramber and very easy to get to – I just tooled down the A24 after seeing friends in Surrey, for most of the way, and there was no problem about arranging a later check in time than I had first stated. It was easy to find Eunha a decent carpark. The staff are young polite and very helpful. One even offered to carry my bags upstairs. The food was very good – I had a beef pie with vegetables all very fresh . almost more than I could eat! The room was large, clean with a comfortable bed and a decent shower. The £57 I had paid for the night included breakfast, which again was very good with locally sourced sausages. Vegetarian options would’ve been no problem. Altogether very pleasant and I think a considerable bargain.

Stayed here whilst in a business trip to Brighton and the location of this place is great as is only 20 mins from Brighton and Hove, near the town of Steyning. Extremely friendly staff made check in quick and easy, and the room was clean, fair sized and very comfortable. The room contained the usual amenities you'd expect, TV (with sky) kettle, tea and coffee etc. The double bed was comfortable and I got a very good night's sleep. The bathroom was clean and the shower had very good water pressure and was hot.
I enjoyed the breakfast the following morning. There is a variety of continental fare and also cooked breakfast options. I opted for the cooked full English breakfast and it was delicious.
Should I venture down this way again, I will seriously consider the Castle Inn Hotel again as I was extremely pleased with the whole experience

This was the fourth visit by my wife and myself to stay three nights. This visit was to meet our family to celebrate her 80th birthday over Sunday lunch. As usual, we were greeted warmly when we arrived and continued to receive a lovely efficient and friendly service. Our room was spacious and comfortable and on the Sunday we had a delicious roast lunch that spilled over into late afternoon, but we never felt rushed and eventually went to the lounge to continue our celebration. Great care is obviously given to training the young staff and are to be applauded for all their effort to please. well done!

The room we had was quite small, but big enough for two people. It was also extremely clean and comfortable. The bathroom was also very clean and the shower very good. The room had a good supply of tea/coffee/sugar etc, and also had a hair dryer and iron and ironing board. The iron, however, did not work and the staff were unable to supply one that did, which was a little inconvenient. The breakfast was excellent and plentiful, but I cannot comment on other meals as we did not eat in the restaurant. The bar prices were quite steep, although it may be that we were comparing them to our local pubs. I would absolutely stay here again and can recommend this hotel to anyone wanting a good value stay in a lovely, picturesque village.
