Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Looking for somewhere inexpensive I found this B&B. When I arrived I wasn't sure I'd arrived at the right place but I needn't have worried. The room was spacious and well appointed and I appreciated a sitting area as well as the bed. There's a fridge and a good hospitality tray so you could probably bring food in. If you venture out, The Cat Inn is very nice but will probably cost you more than your room! In the morning there is a very nice breakfast and if you're lucky with the weather, you can have this in the sunshine on the patio. Whichever room you choose, the occupants of the other room will at some point be walking past your windows, not a problem but you need to be aware!

My wife and I recently had the great pleasure to stay 5 nights at Courtlands Nursaries B&B. The garden-view room has French doors that provide a lovely view of the beautiful gardens. The room was very spacious, absolutely spotless, very well equiped, and with extremely comfortable beds. Also it was very quiet, which was important for overcoming our jet-lag. The highlight of our stay was Lindsay and her wonderful breakfasts, most of which we enjoyed in the outdoor garden patio. The eggs, tomatoes, and raspberries were picked by Lindsay herself from the property. We also loved walking around the large and lovely grounds. Many thanks to Lindsay and Derek for making our stay so pleasant and memorable, and best wishes to their lad Thomas for the new in-school year!

Because of the pandemic, my niece had to to defer her wedding in the area 4 times, in the end we were not able to attend. Lindsay replied to my requests, deferred my stay and eventually refunded my deposit with no fuss x

Response from Resort42170032976, Owner at Courtlands Nurseries Bed and Breakfast

Dear Jacob, Thank you very much for your kind review and photo. We are now enjoying an amazing heat wave ( probably average temperatures for Haifa !!) so there isn't an umbrella in sight ....other than to provide shade. My apologies for a slow response but we've been away a couple of days visiting my elderly mother in Cheltenham. Warmest regards, Lindsay, Derek and Thomas.

Just the right place to stay while attending a family wedding nearby. Spacious light, clean rooms, one of which opens on to the lovely garden, friendly and accommodating (they were happy for our son who was camping nearby, to get changed in our room) delicious breakfast! Highly recommended

I stayed at Courtlands whilst attending a photography workshop in Crawley, about 25 minutes away. Courtlands is in a delightful quiet and secluded spot. The B&B was ideal, as the room I had was self-contained which meant I could come and go without disturbing other guests. Lindsay was really helpful with all my questions and I thoroughly enjoyed my stay. A super sized room, beautifully clean and furnished with every convenience I could wish for. Would love to stay again next time I am in the area!

We stayed here on a Saturday night. The room was clean and fairly large. Very friendly and helpful owners, you are free to have a walk around. The breakfast was great. Will come back when next in Sussex.

We stayed here while visiting friends for New Years Eve. Our room was spacious, light, and very warm and cosy , beds very comfortable with quality linen. We had our own key which let us directly into the room . Lindsay provided a great breakfast choice including the full English served in the conservatory overlooking the lovely gardens . Our hosts chatted over breakfast and told us the history of the grand house just up the road (now flats ) and the estate, and also gave information on places of interest . The Famous Bluebell Railway is very close by and runs through the winter months . Great value and would recommend it highly

We very much enjoyed our stay at Courtlands. The room and huge bathroom were spotlessly clean and had great extra amenities (fridge, microwave, tea, coffee, hot chocolate etc.) There were guide books for the local area and a comfy sofa with a tv and DVDs. It would make a great base for exploring the area. Breakfast was varied and very tasty. Gorgeous homemade jams! We really enjoyed talking to Lindsay, the hostess, and enjoyed meeting her son and dog. We didn't have a chance to check out the nurseries and grounds but from what we saw they promised to be lovely. We only had a few tiny gripes. The bulb in the outside light wasn't working for us. It would have made coming back in the dark a bit easier but they had put out a torch for us to borrow and even suggested on their welcome sheet that we might leave an inside light on if we were going out. We found a few crumbs and hairs on the breakfast table. (Breakfast is served in the family conservatory and I think the table had been laid up the previous day.) When I washed my hair, I seemed to use all of the hot water, making my husband's shower rather less comfortable. But overall, this didn't detract from an extremely pleasant stay. We arrived late which wasn't a problem and there was excellent parking. WiFi connection also great. We would definitely stay again if we were coming into the area.

Very clean and lovely Lindsay kept it that way for our stay Beds comfortable and very spacious room The excellent breakfast with eggs and tomatoes from the garden are taken with the family which added to that homely feeling. Parking is off road and right outside of our room. This excellent venue would suit any visitor who has mobility problems. The local pubs serve good meals including Sunday evenings. The garden is well kept and a pleasure to sit in or play the swing ball provided. I would recommend this B&B
