Me and a few friends stumbled across this house kept away from the bustle of the town amongst lush greenery. We fell in love with the rustic look of the place and agreed to pay 2000 INR a night for three people for a double room. As many others have stated the general maintenance of the rooms are lacking, the...

Totally unique experience. Beautiful old world cottage bungalow, wonderful lush gardens, intense historical feel which is 100% authentic and never feels like part of the manufantured 'heritage industry' approach of many of the MPTDC properties. Great simple home cooking. Yes, the whole place is a little faded and dusty and if you want immaculate all mod cons then look elsewhere....

It's a really old property and is not very well maintained, so it's not up to everyone's liking. However, due to it's vintage nature and poor maintenance, it has this old world charm which is what you may be looking for when heading to a cantonment hill station in the Satpura Range. Particularly liked the fireplace inside the room which...

Only good thing about the property is that it has lush greenery welcoming you. But once you enter the rooms, you will find dirt and cowwebs all over. Roaches over your bed...badly plastered walls...poorely maintained furniture and not to forget leaking taps in bathroom which are worst than public urinals. Please think twice before you book the rooms over this...

The first thing that strikes you about the property is the beautiful drive up to the old mansion, and the wonderful, meticulously tended garden. The setting is extremely promising. The rooms and service could do with an overall upgrade, though - there is so much potential in the property, need to professionalize the housekeeping. The room had a lot of...

A quaint homestay in a busy destination can be a promising prospect and when we found Evelyn's Own at Pachmarhi, we were really looking forward to the experience. It's run by a retired colonel and his wife and the charm, greenery and the attention to detail of the house drew us in. The room however was a disappointment. The artifacts...

miserable and uncomfortable room, rude hosts, ruined bathroom without shower - only bucket, overpriced food, pool is closed, they don't let guests inside the house - so it's like "out of home stay" - it was bad decision to stay here - we asked our money back and leave after one night. Hostess "miss pramilla" - very unfriendly and unwelcoming...

We spent 3 nights staying with Col Rao and his wife Pramilla. The house is indeed beautiful and the gardens are a lush sanctuary complete with a pool which is in use during the summer! We could not have felt more welcome or better looked after, despite turning up at some ungodly hour courtesy of delayed and missed trains! The...
