We (two sixty something Brits) live in Crete and had booked into Classic Apartments for a night so as to see a friend nearby. The reservation was made but they took us around the corner to Portakali and weren't my wife and I delighted they did. It was peaceful and quiet (under 12s not allowed). The family who run it...

The kosma Hotel could have been a good experience for the value but what let it down immensely was the hospitality. You were expected to pay for everything which would be the norm in a standard hotel therefore the accomadation itself turned out to be very expensive if you were to add on the extras like air con at ten...

There are some points raised which came true. Kosma the owner is a lovely chap who is always around and friendly....

The apartments were well-sized - ours was a one-bedroom apartment, with two beds in the bedroom, and one bed in the quite spacious kitchen/dining area. The apartments were clean enough, although only one ring worked on the cooker. If you want a decent cup of tea or coffee, it would be worth picking up a cheap mug in a local...

We have just returned from a 10day holiday. The hotel is supposed to be self catering but the kitchen equipment is just about non existant. Thank goodness we took some food with us too as the small supermarkets are incredibly expensive. The room was clean but this was solely due to the very nice girl who came into clean. The manager...
