We’re nearing the end of our holiday, we have loved it here! The apartments are stylish, comfortable and immaculately clean, room service every other day with clean bedding and towels. The management and staff are lovely and work very hard day and night . The complex is set back from the main road, uphill, the supermarket is 2 minutes away and is well stocked.
The beach is a few minutes walk away, to the right, although not large, the seas shallow and warm, great for kids. Sun-beds for hire €8 for 2 and a parasol, although there’s a few gaps to sit if you didn’t want to hire one.
Also worth a mention for families is the star beach resort, they have a water park area that’s free to enter, sun bed hire is €10 for 2 plus parasol for non residents.
There’s a bar serving snacks too.
We wouldn’t hesitate to come back to Ida village, hopefully in the not too distant future....thank you all x

We arrived and found our accommodation was smaller than what we had booked with TUI .I went to see Despina on reception who immediately moved us to another larger apartment . Nothing was too much trouble for her and she was so helpful with any query we had .The complex is immaculate and set in beautiful gardens . There were plenty of sunbeds at all times so no need to be up early to put a towel on one !! The hotel bar and restaurant met all our expectations and above - a special thankyou to Petros for making everyone feel welcome. The rooms were cleaned every other day with fresh sheets and towels .I would strongly recommend Ida Village if you are staying in Hersonnisos it is perfectly located for the old village and Star beach is just over the road . I would like to give a big thankyou to Despina and all the staff for making our holiday perfect .

We have just returned home after a lovely family holiday at the Ida village , we found the rooms and complex perfect for our family and all very well maintained we had bed and breakfast during our stay and there was something for everyone in the breakfast buffet every morning ., Both the beach and bus stops just a short walk away which made it ideal for us to be able to explore the local area quite easily .
we where very impressed with all the local restaurant's also and we had a real choice and many fabulous meals out . With a large super market close by it was easy to find everything you would need for a family holiday .
We would like to thank all the lovely staff who made our stay enjoyable and showed a lot of kindness and understanding to our eldest son who has Autism and learning difficulties .
Especially Despina , Petros, Pela, Dina ,
This being our first trip abroad since the lockdown it was a perfect choice and we would highly recommend it and would look to book again in the future

Ida village apartments are fantastic
Just returned from a one week family holiday with my partner and 2 children (11 & 14).
We had a superior duplex apartment and they are modern, clean and spacious. Super comfy beds and each has its own veranda you can chill on. Aircon is 6€ a day, but worth every penny for a good night sleep.
The staff are really lovely, Despina, Petros, Dina and all the rest of the team too. Cannot do more to help and any issues you might have are sorted within an hour. Even when my son accidentally broke a glass in the apartment they were fab, replaced it straight away no issues. The massage offers are defo worth it to relax, we had a save your back massage and so so good.
They also do a Greek night every Monday, which is a good laugh and if you want to eat at the bar, the food is lovely and dinner menu is priced well, similar to a lot of local restaurants. Ask Petros for a vodka slush, half glass vodka and half slush puppy, absolutely lush.
The swimming pools are a good size for the complex, however are deep going to 2.9m, so make sure you take armbands etc for non confident swimmers. Never had to fight for a sun bed, and plenty of sun and shady areas for your preference.
There is a hypermarket at the bottom of the road for all your basics, including gluten free supplies if needed. The beach is less than 10 minute walk, small coves, and sunbeds /umbrella are 5€ each for the day. Star beach resort is good for a day, again have to pay for sun beds but have a variety of splash pools for the kids and it's free to use all of them.
Koutouloufari (old town) is worth a visit early evening and dinner and only 8€ in a taxi. For a more commercialised area walk along the main Street on the right to king Scorpio and then walk down along the front, you can keep walking all the way to the port, it does get busy the further you go with a variety of bars and restaurants. Palmera seaside restaurant and Kavari are both lovely, and if you have a late flight and need food the grill next to the hypermarket at bottom of street is great for take away pizza. Average to eat out was 50€-70€ a night with 1 drink for the 4 of us.

My friend and I stayed here for a week in May 2022 and we were both very impressed by our spacious apartment! We had a maisonette with a double bedroom on the first floor (including balcony overlooking the main pool) and then on the ground floor kitchen, bathroom and lounge (with 2 sofa beds) as well as a terrace outside the front door. The apartment was very clean and we paid extra for the air con and safe. There are 2 pools, the main one near the reception has a small children's pool and is located next to the hotel bar and the other pool is located near to the gym which we preferred as it was a lot more peaceful. Desenio was extremely helpful throughout our stay, she even taught us some Greek dancing at thr Greek night in the hotel bar! It takes around 20/25 mins to walk to what we considered to be the main strip of bars and restaurants. There is also a nice village up the hill from the hotel called Koutouloufari which is around a 15 minute walk with some nice restaurants, bars and gift shops however we weren't keen on the walk back in the dark on quiet roads so we stuck to just heading up there in the day time. We booked the jeep safari through the hotel at €75 each which was really good value for money considering what the trip involves! Overall we had a brilliant stay and would recommend to couples or friends looking for a chilled holiday in the Hersonissos area of Crete.

We have been to Hersonissos a lot over the years we have mostly stopped up the hill Koutouloufari and Piskopiano, but we were taking friends and wanted to be near the coast
We did our searches before hand and looked at the reviews so we picked Ida village.
We really enjoyed stopping here the village it self is lovely gardens are fab good footpaths and good lights especially at night.
The apartment was good 2 bed settees in the lounge table with 4 chairs television kitchenette only thing missing was a toaster, nice to have washing up liquid sponge and a tea towel.
Bathroom was very good, big shower plenty of hot water whenever you wanted a shower white towels changed every other day.
The bedroom was good starched sheets changed 3 times in 11 nights plenty of storage with lots of coat hangers.
Nice terrace with table 4 chairs and a clothes airer, a light over the door and a street light so you can sit and read even at night.
Pools are nice we were near the top pool it didnt get too noisy except for Monday night the singer didnt finish till 12.30 and we were leaving the next day but thats what you get on holiday.
The other pool was quiet we used this area so sunbathe and read our books.
The bar area is very good food good too just a little pricey for drinks.
Supermarket just down the road its very good sells everything.
Just a 20 minute walk takes you up the hill to Koutouloufari ,Piskopiano love these villages the people and restaurants.
Big shout out for Despina she is a star and makes this place.

Loved the experience staying at IDA Village for 2 weeks in early June 2022! To start off, this wonderful family run apartment complex is well maintained, clean and comfortable. The facilities were suffielcient and the atmosphere was always welcoming and cheerful. The staff were always available, friendly and helpful, they did their best to accommodate any requests and gave useful tips for things to do and even organised a reduced price exursion to nearby waterpark including transport.
The bar served tasty food throughout the day and delicious cocktails!
The location was perfect too, just 5 mins walk to Star Beach and a Spar 2 mins down the road! The old village of Koutolourfari was a 15 min walk and the centre of new Hersonossis about 10-20mins walk with plenty of shops and restaurants along the way. The coastal walk was gorgeous too and easily accessible, never had any trouble walking anywhere!

Overall, highly recommend IDA village, wouldn't stay anywhere else on next visit to Crete!

Lovely apartment layout right next to the pool and with a sea view! The room had plenty of space for a family of 4, it was clean and had all of the kitchen essentials. Air conditioning was fairly cheap per night and wifi was free. The restaurant served nice food and drink and the staff were so friendly! Lots of fun activities such as table tennis, a pool table, tennis and the gym. The gym was very simple but effective. You could also get a massage.

The location of the hotel was good as it had shops nearby and only a short walk to Star Beach and other beach areas, restaurants and bars.

Only one small issue which is the reservation of sun beds by the pool. Some people were laying towels out on beds in the morning and not using them for hours! I think maybe the staff should address this as it is not fair on others.

Great family holiday!

Just back from a 12 night stay with my partner and my 15 year old daughter. Without doubt, the best part of Ida Village is the bar man, Aris. Without him, the hotel atmosphere would be pretty poor. He always had a smile on his face, nothing was too much trouble and he was very passionate about his cocktails, which were amazing! He brightened up our evenings and even taught my daughter how to make a cocktail, which she loved.
Our room was very large compared to others we have stayed in on other Greek islands. We stayed in a two bed Superior Deluxe. The beds were really comfy and the apartment was cleaned every other day.
However, we didn’t realise that this hotel caters for the 18-30, Dutch equivalent.
There are two swimming pools and we chose the quieter of the two which also attracted the 18-30’s. On one occasion, they played their own music, competing with each other for loudness. Smoked and drank whilst sitting on the edge of the pool. This caused several families, including us to move to the other pool. Thankfully, it was later in the day and there were free sun beds.
Overall, we loved the location and were able to walk to the gorgeous local, typically Greek villages every night and ended the evening with a delicious cocktail made by Aris. He deserves a five star review all to himself!!! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

We’ve just spent two weeks at Ida Village with two toddlers and everything has been just perfect! Despina is so wonderful and makes you feel very much at home. We had our room upgraded free of charge as they had a spare and every day Despina has either made the kids animal balloons, given them sweets or stickers…they absolutely love her!

Rooms are lovely and spotlessly clean. New towels and bedding every other day. Having stayed in many self catering Greek apartments these have been by far the most comfy!

It’s a little uphill walk to Koutouloufari, but well worth it. A lovely little town with plenty of tavernas and little shops to browse. All have been delicious and brilliant with kids!

Thank you Despina and the whole team for making our holiday so fabulous, we can’t wait to come back!
