We arrived late and were greeted straight away and taken to our room. The staff were very hospitable and for the most part friendly (some unfriendly and rude restaurant staff).
If you are wanting all inclusive for cheaper food/drink options do not stay here. There was plenty of choice for food but it was mediocre at best. The quality was awful, one night there was souvlaki (unidentified meat) which was very gelatinous and felt undercooked. Another example was the so called risotto which had less taste and texture than a packet of microwave rice, was definitely not risotto. It was clearly not fresh and a lot of it was from frozen. Unfortunately not all the food was labelled either which made it difficult for myself having a Nut allergy. The deserts consisted of some sort of cheesecake (which even the chef couldn't say whether there was nuts in this as it was bought in), tangerine slices dipped in chocolate, some sort of coconut bun, baklava and fruit. Their was also no fresh juice at breakfast, only cordial. Many much older (50+) non British guests seemed to enjoy the food.
The drinks were poor too, the only inclusive drinks were Ouzo, Raki, Brandy, Wine (tasted very vinegary), beer and soft drinks. For a single of any other spirit it was €6. The cocktails were poor too.
The rooms were lovely and large, clean and airy. Other than the mattresses being very hard and uncomfortable, and the mini fridge being old and loud, the rooms were nice.
We had some issues with the shower not working which the staff were quick to fix but apparently there was no bath plugs across the resort so I was unable to have a bath to help ease my muscles. It seems a bit of a strange policy to have bathtubs but not allow guests to have a bath.
The cleaning staff were very efficient and friendly and cleaned everyday.
The pool was a good size and seemed fairly clean but only one out of the two was open. The games room was disappointing having only one pool table (€2 per game), one table football and one air hockey table, neither of which worked. It could have done with a wipe around too.
The website states that there is a shuttle service three times a week but I was informed they aren't doing it this year. Alongside this they advertise a laundry option at the front desk but this is external and very expensive with each item of laundry being between €3-€10.
The view from the hotel was stunning and the beaches close by were beautiful and almost worth the stay. The atmosphere here was very relaxing and clearly for an older clientele without a party vibe which was nice.
The restaurants locally were excellent and I would definitely recommend YA Seafood, Saradari, La Mia Pizza restaurant and Teverna Harakas. If you don't mind eating out every for every meal then it could be worth the stay but not good value for money considering.
We were able to extend our check out until 6pm for €30 which was helpful with us having a late transfer and flight.
Overall we enjoyed our stay but we wouldn't stay again
The pictures are their version of a "risotto" and "Pina Colada".

A beautiful white village style hotel on the top of a hill with beautiful views. Unfortunately the hotel is in need of some TLC it’s a little dated. No map signs for where things are, games room was run down and all out of order!

The bedroom was pretty basic but clean. The pool areas are small but nice enough. Breakfast was the same each day a variety of hot and cold items, fresh made pancakes which were quite lovely. Lunch was served at the out door pool/bar area, dinner was in the restaurant area and both were your standard buffet style we only ate lunch twice and didnt have an evening meal which seems a waste as we were all inclusive.

All inclusive drinks were disappointing as you can only have beer, wine, soft drinks brandy or ouzo! Everything else you have to pay for and the cocktails were just as much as the bars in hersonissos 7€ There’s no ATM and you can’t pay card??
Rooms were cleaned (brushed, bed made and bins emptied) daily but we had to leave the towels on the floor in the bathroom to make sure they were changed.

Most staff were friendly just one gentleman (assuming he’s the manager) was quite rude and unhelpful. I don’t think we would stay again.

Hersonissos Village Hotel is a two-category hotel. The first part – renovated bungalows located in a beautiful garden. Rooms here are mainly provided to tourists from Germany, and the rooms probably meet the 4-star criteria. The second part of the hotel - some shabby bungalows placed in the bushes, not in the garden. The very appearance of the buildings suggests 2 or at most 3-star rooms. And in fact, that's exactly what they are. Poles are accommodated in this part of the hotel. It is only surprising that tour operators do not provide such details. Therefore, I agree with the previous opinions and suggest paying extra for a room with a sea view. Despite the location of these rooms in a worse part of the hotel, they are of a better standard than those without an additional fee (still at most 3 stars). Why top 3 stars? Because: the lock is falling off the exit door, the shower is broken, i.e. the tap cannot be adjusted up and down, the contacts are falling off the wall, the furniture is from the last century, the window cannot be closed from the inside - broken hinges, etc. As for the food, it seems to me that there is no tragedy for a week and everyone will find something for themselves. However, I confirm the repetition of dishes and their monotony.
To sum up, the hotel is located on a hill with a beautiful view and close to a very nice sandy beach (very nice for Hersonossos conditions, of course, because the beaches here are very narrow, often rocky). It's a pity that 4 stars are misleading and you may feel disappointed. During my stay, I tried not to think about all the shortcomings and enjoy the nice views. However, I would not come here again unless the price was exceptionally attractive. In the hotel you get the impression that more than half of the guests are our compatriots, so this also needs to be taken into account. During my stay, there was a group of 15 young guys having nightly parties in the style of drunken park hooligans.

### Disappointing Stay at Hersonissos Village Hotel

I recently stayed at Hersonissos Village Hotel in Crete, and from the moment I arrived, I was thoroughly disappointed. Despite the sweltering temperatures of over 30°C, there was no air conditioning in the reception or the restaurant. This meant that I was constantly sweating and uncomfortable, which is not what you expect from a supposedly 4-star hotel.

One of the most frustrating aspects of my stay was that, despite being all-inclusive, the hotel did not provide bottled water. Instead, you had to drink filtered water from the terrace, which tasted terrible. Staying hydrated was a challenge, and this is simply unacceptable.

The rooms were in urgent need of refurbishment. The floor was breaking down, and the taps in the bathroom were covered in limestone. It was clear that maintenance and upkeep were not priorities for this hotel.

The food was another major letdown. The meals were average at best, with the same dishes being served every day. Lunch was particularly disappointing and far from what you would expect from a 4-star all-inclusive resort. In seven days, they only offered grilled chicken on one evening, while the rest of the time it was mainly stews.

I feel compelled to write this review to warn future guests. This hotel is not what it claims to be, and the previous positive reviews were very misleading. It was a big mistake to choose this place for our holiday. If you don’t want to constantly navigate stairs and hills, stay away. The nearest beach is a 10-minute walk away through a dusty, improvised road, and getting to town requires a taxi ride that costs 10 euros. Walking back from town is especially challenging.

The only redeeming features of Hersonissos Village are the views and the diligent housekeeping staff who did a good job cleaning the rooms. However, these positives do not make up for the numerous negatives. I would barely give this place 3 stars. We were very frustrated, especially on the last day when there was no air-conditioned place to wait for our shuttle. We had to sit on a chair and sweat constantly.

Avoid this place if you want a pleasant holiday experience.

The rooms are a little dated, the fridge and air conditioning make a lot of noise and you can hear the neighbors loudly.
However, with earplugs it's fine.
We found the food very good and varied. The staff is incredibly kind. Both at the reception and at the restaurant in the spa and also the cleaning ladies. Special mention to these brave little ladies. Impeccable cleanliness, we had little touches such as a small bouquet of flowers, our napkins folded in a certain way with a candy in them.
Access to the beaches is easy and just a stone's throw away. 2 spacious swimming pools, if I had to say its weak point it is the fact that you have to walk for excursions, because the buses do not know how to pass. Also no I put 4.5/5
We had an excellent vacation and a big thank you to all those people dedicated to the comfort of their residents.

We have just returned from a 10 day stay at this hotel. Unfortunately our experience at this hotel was neither pleasant or good. Firstly you need to be mindfull that it is at the top of a steep hill. We are over 60 and whilst we could walk down to the sea front some 15 minutes away - we had to take a taxi home every time because the hill was so steep. Once you get onto the holidasy village it is all steps and slopes. Steps up to the restaurant, steps down to the toilets, steps to the pool bar, steps or slopes to the rooms. Not for the faint hearted. The food was at worst cold and at best luke warm. The variety was extremely limited and very repetitive. The posivtie aspect was definitely the staff. The restaurant manager, the bar manager, the receptionist and the general works were extremely friendly and quite frankly were the only positive thing were brought away from this holiday. We went on several bus trips as there is absolutely nothing to do at the hotel. The pool was extremely cold and during our stay only saw no more than 5 people in the pool during our whole 10 days at the village. Entertainment was non existant except the second to last day they had a singer and musician playing. We were extremely disaapointed in our holiday as this was our first trp to Crete. Unfortunately we went all inclusive as we were not sure of the area and facilities available - the only drinks on all inclusive were local brandy, Raki, Ouzo, local wine and local beer. Very limited choise, very limited food selection, and you had to purchase any water you wanted.

We enjoyed our stay at Hersonissos Village. It was nice to have two swimming pools. The pool down the steps is preferable as it is quieter than the other pool. Breakfast was very good with lots of variety, although dinner was just okay and lunch was a bit less, but that was fine.

The cottages were pleasant, as they were not far from the pools and the dining area. We also had a beautiful sea view.

Unfortunately, you can hear a lot of noise from other rooms, and the mattress was very hard. The air conditioning in the room was good though.

The center of Chersonissos is a 15-minute walk away, which is ideal for an evening out. After going out, taking a taxi back is recommended because the way back to the hotel is steep uphill. A taxi from the center to the hotel costs only 10 euros.

Between 6:00 PM and 11:00 PM, there are free cocktails with excellent service from bartender Dimitris. He made us smile every evening and had great conversations, making the bar a pleasant place to be. We saw how hard he worked and yet he remained friendly to everyone. I highly recommend the 'Dimitris special' cocktail! Thank you, Dimitris, for the amazing service, we will miss you.

This hotel has such a fantastic location slightly out of the main town with the most amazing view. There are plenty of beaches within easy reach and are great for snorkelling. Like others have said, yes there is a smell when you come up the drive, but that didn't affect our stay. The all-inclusive food and drinks are limited, but there was always something on offer and the service is exceptional. They offer entertainment a couple of times a week which we enjoyed. We had a sea view triple room which had a nice balcony overlooking the sea and was definitely worth the upgrade. We got a taxi up to Old Hersonissos which had some lovely shops and restaurants and was one of the highlights of our trip. British were in the minority in the hotel which seems to have more French and German guests but this didn’t worry us at all. Overall, this is a great value hotel which I would be happy to recommend.

This was our first experience with a mid-level all inclusive hotel in Greece, or anywhere else for that matter. The cost is very reasonable but honestly, you pay for what you get. The drinks are very basic, the food is just so so, the distance you must walk to get to any beach is at least 10 minutes, however the view is spectacular, especially in the evening. The rooms are large and spacious but pay attention to where you go in this labyrinth of accommodation or you may get lost. The staff are courteous and helpful. Nice pool!

This is not a 4 star hotel it is very basic and no more than 2 or 3 star. The reception and dining room staff are ok but the bar manager is rude and arrogant to english people he is only friendly to german guests so we did not leave him a tip. The views from the hotel are beautiful. We visited the old town and it was absolutely lovely with a small square surrounded by restaurants where we enjoyed a meal in a taverna. The local taxis are great andthe drivers are very friendly and give you a lot of information about the area. There is no entertainment whatsoever at this hotel so you only have the option to go to the bar after evening dinner and be greeted by the rude bar manager
