Travelodge comes to the rescue accommodating 3 adults for a night's stay en route to Scotland. The hotel is new frills and baubles - but we're happy enough that we 3 could stay at this basic but comfortable hotel. Room was clean with the usual necessary basics and materials, functional without being showy, but in an area of outstanding beaury (if you ignore the M6). This abode had a friendly receptionist on welcome and on departure. The area was quiet and relaxed. No problems and no complaints. We'd come again should we need this essential half-way house betwixt England and Scotland.

You imagine a travel lodge or any hotel that is at the side of a busy motorway at the services to be loud and a bit grubby...how wrong was I, the place was well maintained, clean, warm and the rooms were tidy, smart with no broken items, mess or scuffs, the beds being very cozy. Noise was to a minimum by the motorway which was great and the rooms are decently soundproof for both internal and external noise.

Great northbound location and a handy number of shops in the adjacent small revive centre (M&S Greggs WHSmith and junk food outlets). Accommodation clean and well maintained and great value. Only problem was the inadequate web access which I paid for and did not receive

The room was surprisingly quiet given the close proximity of the motorway. The lady on duty was really helpful, helping my husband with our luggage & immediately changing us to a different room when I noticed the hum of the boiler - i'm a light sleeper. The room was clean & comfortable with tea & coffee as a bonus. Incredible value for money.

Couldn't fault the room & hotel – it was clean, tidy and comfortable although my wife would have appreciated a hair dryer there. The staff were friendly, efficient and helpful although it would have been even better if they had warned us that the eateries and shops across the car park closed at 8pm.

The ’free’ Wi-Fi worked fine in the room with a good signal, but if you wanted to use it for more than 30mins, it would be V expensive. I would have expected either no Wi-Fi, or for it to be free.

Have stayed here 3 times when visiting Lancaster. It has a good car park and despite being just off the M6 is quiet. Very good value for money and the room is always clean, tidy and of a good size. There is a handy back route which the staff tell you about so you can access the property from the M6 south without having to come off and then come back up on the north route. Only 20 minutes to Lancaster.

Room was clean, beds comfortable. Unfortunately no soap in either of the two bathroom soap dispensers. The Travelodge could do with providing a tray for the coffee/tea making facility. Without a tray the desk surface gets covered in hot water. After enquiring with staff, a tray was provided. It seems that Tea/Coffee trays are no longer used in the Travelodge rooms. There was a power cut during our stay 09:30 to 17:00. The North West Electricity Board insisted that Travelodge had been pre warned of this power cut. Travelodge however failed to pass this information on to its customers.

My wife and I experienced the most welcoming attentive and professional staff at this establishment and were completely blown away with the quality, cleanliness and size of our room.
This was a overnight stay splitting a drive from Bath to the Highlands of Scotland to relocate and we really needed this stay and we were not disappointed.
A very special mention to the Managers Nathasa who was so helpful and courteous and went the extra mile for us .
The night manager Kirsty was also very friendly ,helpful and courteous.
The cleaning staff also should take great pride as we have stayed in alleged superior hotels around the world and could not match their standard which we experienced.
I highly recommend this Travelodge and as this was our first ever stay we will have no hesitation in doing so again.
Many Thanks

Pros: Flexibility of Paypal payment for this last minute booking very much appreciated one day before January pay day. Comfortable bed and powerful shower in a room with adequate facilities for an overnight stay.
Cons: Location beside Lorry Park meant an unplanned early morning wake up call
