Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Went for the sunrise spa, the floor was wet on arrival and they were hoovering the spa area. Doesnt seem the most relaxing welcome. The treatment itself was great and the girls who did the treatment were very professional and the nicest part about the pigs. The breakfast was ok, not very warm and forgot about the drinks included in the breakfast. My mum then forgot her glasses and called up later to be told they dont go to the post office very often so it wont be dealt with for a few days. There was also a £5 charge for this. Doesn't seem that professional when I have sent peoples item in the post before for customer goodwill and satisfaction. Got to be careful to cover all the small things otherwise you may aswell go to bannatynes...

Oh my days, what a luxurious birthday treat this was! Stayed in a spa suite and was just fab. Evening meal and breakfast were amazing. Would definitely recommend for any special occasion. Look forward to staying again.

Gifted as a birthday present our stay at The Pigs was good. The room had a sauna and ‘outdoor’ bath plus fire pit and chairs. Very luxurious bed and bedding. The bathroom was large with a raindrop shower. We didn’t have a spa treatment but did have dinner. The Sunday menu was limited but enjoyable. Breakfast was varied with emphasis on local products. It’s a tad expensive for b and b but great as a treat if you’re looking for something special.

My partner and I went to The Pigs for lunch yesterday. We had a wonderful time, great service from all staff, excellent value and the food was amazing. Cannot fault any thing. We will definitely be returning.

Poor experience, we booked a large table for sister inlaws birthday. They took a booking for 215 my sister inlaw and fam arrived around 150 informed bar staff that they had arrived, but where going outside to allow the kids to play, no mention that they stop cooking at 230(states online that they serve food all day). after some play time outside we came in to get our pre ordered food, only to be told that we unable to as there’s no chef we should of been at our table. What gets me is 1. why would you take a booking at 215 if your chef was leaving at 2:30 2. Why would you state when they arrived that we needed to be seated at our table as the chef was leaving at 230? As we were leaving my partner went to the toilet only to hear us being moaned about between staff could have at least waited for us to leave. Disorganised and unprofessional. Luckily we managed to get a table at kings head in letheringsett with their nice polite staff. Would not recommend or return!

I’ve recently been diagnosed wheat, egg and milk intolerant so we chose this restaurant because their website stated that they offer dairy-free and gluten-free alternatives. The meal I selected had both options available so I informed the waitress that I am wheat and dairy intolerant. When my meal arrived, instead of using dairy-free alternatives, the dairy ingredients had simply been removed, which made the meal dry and flavour-less. The cost of the meal was of course the same but paying £17 for essentially a beef and bacon bap seems extortionate. To add to the disappointment, my partner’s meal was incorrect. We’ve previously had great experiences at The Pigs but feel after today’s poor quality, we won’t be returning in a hurry!

Excellent stay, all staff very friendly and attentive, from bar staff to reception and the lady who served us at breakfast was brilliant! We ate in the evening, me and my partner both had the Pork tenderloin and it was the best dish we have had in a long time!

Everything about this stay was exemplary. We are not novice spa goers, but this really was a cut above. You might agree with me that they are a little pricey before you go, but you will come away thinking they are good value. We stayed in one of the lower tier “spa suites” but we certainly didn’t feel anything but pampered. We have to say though, that the restaurant was possibly the absolute best of a wonderful experience. From the greens, the red cabbage, to the meat itself, everything held its own gorgeous flavour. (We had “the pig event”) Honestly, go for it. This is the break you want!
