Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We were on a coach trip and stayed two nights, it's a lovely hotel right on the coast. We stayed in a twin room on the first floor (103) Spotlessly clean and really warm. We ate twice in the evening and it was really good! Three courses which were hot and plentyfull. Breakfast was also very good. All staff were friendly and helpful. We would return anytime.

I can't believe some of the negative reviews I have just read on here about this lovely hotel. I stayed there for a couple of nights as part of a coach trip to see the Christmas Spectacular at Thursford. The arrangements for checking in the party were extremely swift and efficient and the provision of tea and coffee on arrival was a nice touch. The food and food choices were excellent and EVERY member of staff was pleasant and every one was always ready to respond to our needs. Despite it being an old hotel, it is well maintained, clean, warm and very comfortable. And the seaside location is brilliant. Although brief, we enjoyed our stay and would have no hesitation in booking again.

Stayed at this hotel as part of a Crusader coach tour to Thursford. Wish we could have stayed longer. Right on the sandy beach. Lovely old hotel, excellent friendly staff. Menu and food was to a high standard. Bedrooms comfortable, cosy bars and lounges to relax in.

In a beautiful position overlooking a lovely long beach with fantastic cliffs. However, it is sadly a shadow of its former self. Housekeeping seems to be a thing of the past. The few staff who smiled were in the minority. After many visits I will not be returning.

Out walking in the area & we called in for a quick bite of lunch, eating in The Mariner bar area. Despite the place being busy the staff were helpful/polite & our food, which we ordered at the bar, arrived fairly promptly, looked appetising & was nicely presented. We’d both chosen the North Atlantic Prawn + Marie Rose sauce sandwiches & added an “ upgrade” of chips to the order. Generally the lunch was acceptable: the chips were freshly cooked, crispy/piping hot, the granary bread was soft, nicely buttered & the small portion of salad quite aromatic. HOWEVER, the North Atlantic prawns, that should have been the “star of the show” were terrible!! Unfortunately these prawns were most definitely the worst prawns that we have ever tasted. They were literally devoid of any taste, not even a hint of fish/seafood flavour was in evidence. It was as if the prawns had been in the freezer for way too long & then hurriedly defrosted by soaking them in cup on boing water! Shockingly bad!! Overall such a disappointing experience! Our bill was just over £26 for the sandwiches & two soft drinks which is a very acceptable price IF the food is good quality but on this occasion we walked away unhappy. In hindsight we should have sent the orders straight back to the kitchen but we were on a tight time schedule & simply couldn’t face the delay…..big mistake!!

Long weekend away for my mums birthday treat. Weekend of the “storms”. Woke up Friday morning to water flooding the room.Hotel Porter Bob was amazing!! He was able to accommodate us. We were upgraded to a lodge. The reception staff were friendly and helpful.Complimentary breakfast provided. The hotel did everything they could to cater for us and the unfortunate situation which reduced our stresses. Would highly recommend this hotel, the Mariner Pub and surrounding facilities.

We stayed in a sea view room on the second floor, which was very clean. Although the hotel needs updating, we did enjoy our stay. We had B&B & evening meal, there were good choices, a little hit and miss with the choosing, i.e on our second evening meal we both chose pan fried duck which came with half dinner plate of mashed potatoes and the other half sliced carrots with the duck resting on top. Other evening meals were more appetising, breakfasts were good. Reception staff were helpful and friendly as were housekeeping, sadly restaurant staff not as, on one occasion Reception said we could reserve a table in the restaurant, but restaurant staff said ‘no you can’t’, I said sorry but we were told by reception you can so she repeated it again, we felt like we were being sent to the naughty corner and didn’t ask again.

The hotel is located in a stunning postion for sea views. The room was really clean and the breakfast was great. I liked the selection at the continental buffet as well as being able to choose off a cooked breakfast menu. My only disappointment was a couple of the staff who could have been more hospitable (reception & restaurant)

Always a treat to stay at the Le Strange Arms hotel in Old Hunstanton. This lovely property sitting on Norfolk's North-west coastal corner has been our summer go-to for many years. This hotel offers very comfortable en-suite rooms, a relaxing bar and dining either at their restaurant or in the owned pub/restaurant next door for great pub style dishes . All of this Just a short walk from a perfect sandy beach. Also, a short drive inland, lay the wonderful north Norfolk countryside to explore. Along with the very helpful and friendly staff at the Le Strange Arms Hotel, these are the reasons why we always enjoy returning to stay (:))

We have just had the most amazing Wedding held at the Le Strange Arms Hotel, thank you especially to Tanya and all the staff at the hotel so helpful and professional they could not do enough for us . Even when my new mother in law delayed the music to play for my wife's entrance because she had her Bluetooth on her phone connected. The food is absolutely fantastic everyone said to us afterwards OMG they food the beef , the turkey and desserts were amazing. Everyone including people who were at the bar next door for a drink were so pleased with our Wedding singer she was fantastic and an amazing voice " Nicole Laurence an Ex Factor finalist from Peterborough area and she was absolutely brilliant she made our wedding . But against most of all goes to all the staff , the waiters and waitresses Chefs they were brilliant and again our biggest thank you goes to Tanya from the LE STRANGE ARMS She was our wedding planner and without her help we wouldn't have had a fantastic day thank you so so much .
