Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.

Thank you to all the staff at Le Strange Hotel, yet again we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and leave with contemplation of our next visit. From the warm welcome to the excellent restaurant via a good night’s sleep we love it here. This is how to run a hotel, lots of safe parking, excellent wine list and simply stunning food- consistently! So handy for the beach and a stroll to Hunstanton. Sea view superior double room which had a super king bed with plenty of space to sit and enjoy the sea view from the sitting area. Oceans of hot water and soft towels. My fiancée who is a vegetarian found the menu reflected her needs and was thoughtfully created so often the vegetarian ‘option’ is an after-thought, not here! Two nights B and B with two course diner included is a great combination and excellent value, we really looked forward to our evening meal knowing the quality and attention to detail never fails to impress.

We have had a delicious Sunday lunch here today. The food was excellent. The cod was so fresh and everything was cooked to perfection. The Yorkshire Puds that came with the roast were enormous. Two of us have a lactose intolerance and we were very well accommodated; which was much appreciated. A really friendly team working there and a cracking view. Thank you!

Excellent location for a sea view stay, a short walk to the beach. The hotel staff were all very friendly and helpful and there are many sitting areas, many with sea views. The room was spacious and well equipped. Superb breakfast. Recommend highly.

We have stayed at Le Strange a number of times both in the Hotel and self catering accommodation, both of which are of a good standard. We recently stayed for a week in one of the Garden Lodges and had a lovely relaxing break by the sea. The weather was kind too so we had a great stay all round ! As always the staff were great too both in the Mariners (who kindly delivered meals to our Lodge) and on Reception who were happy to provide assistance. We are already booked for another stay later in the year.

We went on a girls weekend staying in a Garden Lodge and have been going there for the last 2 years and the year before Covid hit too. The position of the Le Strange and Lodges are just perfect and would highly recommend it. Just a perfect place to unwind and have fun. The staff, especially Karen from the Ancient Mariner, could have been more accommodating. We have booked again for January 2025.

We had an Anniversary weekend away on a January deal. Bed breakfast and evening meal for two nights. Very pleased with our clean standard room, a complimentary bottle of wine was a lovely touch. Thankyou 😊 The food was presented of high standard. Most of the staff were friendly. Lovely open fire in the communal lounge Great location on the seafront. Walk to town takes around half hour. We love le strange hotel and have been returning for many years now. Will be back again sometime in the near future.

We have had a wonderful 2 days stay here. The staff were wonderfully helpfully, welcoming and friendly. The food delicious with cheerful staff serving us promptly. The Location is exceptional overlooking the sea with the Hotel right on the edge of the beach. the views especially of the sunsets were outstanding too. All in all it was the best break we could have asked for and hope to back for longer soon. Thank you to all at Le Strange for giving us such a great break...

Booked three nights here , December ,at a leisure rate of 583.56 this was for dinner bed and breakfast in a sea view superior double room. Dinner allowance in restaurant was 33.50. Arrived at 2 pm and room was ready.Did a recce of the room before unloading the car. Just as well as there are three flights of stairs to room 215. WE requested the cases delivered to our room and they also advised that there is a lift to the first floor and you just walk across. Trust me! Do not attempt this, we did without luggage and got completely lost as did other guests we spoke with. This place is a labryinth.A well appointed room with a super king sized comfy bed. Comfy armchairs with table and standard lamp. Large flat screen TV. Tea tray with tetley tea and border biscuits. Two bottles of water. NO air conditioning but a window that opens out. IN summer the lack of this may present an issue as previous reviewers have mentioned. Large cupboard with ironing board etc. Hair dryer in drawer. Double plug above desk with twin usb ports. The room overlooks the car park with direct sea views. All quiet this time of year but if you are looking for peace and quiet in the Summer season (read previous reviews)then best choose a room away from this. The hotel prioritises coach passengers who appear every one or two days for the Thursford show and populate the main dining room while we are placed in the conservatory which can be chilly. Plenty of choice on the menu and the quality and presentation of the food depends on whether the main chef is on duty or the trainee chef. If you want the Eton Mess make sure you ask if Nathan is making it! Food was generally very good and the dinner allowance more than covers what your choose. The fish was the best. Breakfast has plenty of choice but i stopped ordering the black pudding and hash brown as they came saturated in fat.One major issue for us both was the quality of the coffee which came in a pot and was the worst we have ever had. we left it and made Nescafé in our room. I subsequently brought my own red bush tea bags to breakfast and asked for a pot of hot water, Hubby declined all hot drinks after that.It was his birthday was on our last night and we dined in the bar. WE got dizzy with the change of venues for our dinner because either a chef was or wasn’t on duty. The last meal was perfect and I guess Nathan cooked it. The birthday board was very sweet as was the complimentary bottle of wine to compensate for the various changes. The staff in the hotel are lovely and bend over backwards to assist. A shout out to Kate, Craig, Maryam for all their help and kindness. Not forgetting the porter on our last morning who was so helpful. This is a lovely hotel with good staff . However the constant muddle over dining arrangements was unnecessary. You need to treat all your guests the same.A standard room for the same period based on three nights would have cost 491.56 and it does not follow that this would be a refurbished room. So if you want the standard we got then you need to pay the price.Would we stay again, yes we would. It is the staff that make this hotel. Not sure we would book a sea view as we spent our day touring and if we came in summer then the terraces would be rammed with guests enjoying their drinks in the sunshine. Thank you to all the staff that looked after us.

We were on a coach trip and stayed two nights, it's a lovely hotel right on the coast. We stayed in a twin room on the first floor (103) Spotlessly clean and really warm. We ate twice in the evening and it was really good! Three courses which were hot and plentyfull. Breakfast was also very good. All staff were friendly and helpful. We would return anytime.

I can't believe some of the negative reviews I have just read on here about this lovely hotel. I stayed there for a couple of nights as part of a coach trip to see the Christmas Spectacular at Thursford. The arrangements for checking in the party were extremely swift and efficient and the provision of tea and coffee on arrival was a nice touch. The food and food choices were excellent and EVERY member of staff was pleasant and every one was always ready to respond to our needs. Despite it being an old hotel, it is well maintained, clean, warm and very comfortable. And the seaside location is brilliant. Although brief, we enjoyed our stay and would have no hesitation in booking again.
