From the outside a normal english seaside guest house, beautifully presented, clearly with a lot of loving care taken in the simple but welcoming garden.
On stepping through the front door it was clear that the same care and attention to detail and cleanliness was present throughout. Tastefully decorated with a personal touch instead of the too common commercial approach in reflected the owners personalities; warm, approachable, friendly but not 'in your face'. Everywhere was spotless. Room was a good size with excellent en-suite facilities that were not cramped. Our double aspect room (#5) gave wonderful sea views especially of the sunset.
Breakfast was simply order whatever you wanted and it was cooked to perfection and served fresh to your table. If you required anything special eg: haddock, just order it the previous evening and it was there.
Every room had a well stocked mini-bar and there was also an honesty bar in the lounge.
Archie and Stephen clearly love what they are offering here and it shows in spades! Nowhere in the world does guest houses better than the english and this must surely set the bar to almost unreachable heights!!

Great weekend away,
Close to all amenities.
Archie & Stephen where top hosts and they think of the little things.
A pint of milk in yr fridge, scissors on the table to cut sauce packets, they really have thought of the little things. We had a lovely relaxed 2 nights stay, lovely fresh fruit and yoghurt for breakfast followed by English breakfast. We even enjoyed a few hrs sitting in the sun in the lovely well kept garden..

Absolutely fantastic place to stay. We stayed in room 4, which was comfortably spacious, had a comfy settee to relax on a large bathroom with bath and shower and had the luxurious 4 poster bed. We also had a Seaview, a much needed ceiling fan as the weather was red hot during our stay, a good size tv, plenty of tea and coffee, water and a mini bar/fridge. The entire room was spotless, and very comfortable.
The guesthouse itself was in a prime location, only a stones throw from the town and the sea. It was beautifully clean, well taken care of and had a lovely garden area to chill out in at the end of a lovely day.
Parking for 5 out of 6 rooms, we got there early and got a space.
The breakfasts were great. 3 courses with coffee and juice too, lots of choices, all freshly cooked to order and served to your table.
The 2 guys who run the guest house were very pleasant, and would clearly go the extra mile for all guests to ensure a tick all boxes stay.
Thank you.
We loved our stay and would highly recommend.

We stayed at Gate Lodge for 4 nights in June. We were a group of 6 adults in 3 rooms. As someone with mobility issues I was given an accessible room on the ground floor. Beautifully decorated and spotlessly clean. Mini bar and teas, coffee, water, biscuits etc and a really well stocked bathroom with everything you could need. The only drawback for me was the shower didn’t have handles or seat for disabled showering and with the windows open there was quite a bit of road noise. There was a lovely sitting room near the breakfast room equipped with a full bar which you could access and an honesty form for declaring usage. The breakfast was amazing with so much choice on the menu, at least four courses and extra specials which could be ordered the day before and everything was beautifully prepared/cooked, the portion size was also very generous. The hosts were friendly and professional and very accommodating. I would wholeheartedly recommend this accommodation to anyone and thank Stephen and Archie for such an enjoyable stay.

Thank you for your review. We are pleased that, overall, you enjoyed your stay at Gate Lodge Guest House, Hunstanton. We wish you had brought your shower concerns to our attention during your stay, as we were unaware of your issues . We do have a "shower chair" available for guest's use, if only you had asked.

Greeted by Archie who was lovely and showed us around before bringing our luggage into our room. Room 2 was lovely with an en-suite shower all very clean.Large tv with free wifi. There were cotton buds, cotton pads and tissues in the bathroom , shampoo and shower gels. They was also a hairdryer and a mini bar and tea and coffee making facilities with complimentary biscuits on both days of our stay, the breakfast served by Stephen was really lovely, nothing too much trouble with lots of choice plus a full English. There is a lovely garden with seating but unfortunately not warm enough to sit out. We had a lovely stay with two lovely hosts. Will definitely go back

We have stayed in many B&B’s in Hunstanton and the is by far the best. It will now be our ‘go too’
The place is beautiful, soon arrival the host was happy for us to leave the car in the car park despite arriving early. The place is spotless. It oozes style and is clear has been refurbished to (in my opinion) high standard, as a ‘younger couple’ other places we have stayed are dated, this however has a modern fresh fee. The hosts are pleasant, the room (6) was perfect. Hosts went above and beyond to provide extra fans for the heat wave!
Breakfast was lovely. We are in fact still here, we leave in the morning and it will be a sad departure. Thank you for making our mini break a little more special.

From the moment we arrived, we felt very comfortable and welcomed. The rules regarding COVID19 were explained in a clear and effective way.
We had room 5 which was large and spacious with a large en-suite bathroom. All very comfortable, and very clean. The bedroom has dual aspect windows, which had views of the town on one side, and the sea on the other.
Breakfast was mega. A two course breakfast, which set you up nicely for the day.
Our hosts, Archie and Steve, were warm, friendly, and attentive and answered any questions we had. Thank you chaps!
I would highly recommend a stay at the Gate Lodge Guest House.

We stayed for a long weekend for 3 nights.
The accommodation was lovely and very close to the seafront and local tourist areas. The hosts Stephen and Archie were lovely, very polite and friendly, and on arrival gave us a full tour of Gate Lodge and full run down of the accommodation and the local services. The room (Room 5) was excellent with a nice sea view and very clean with a lovely king size bed, bathroom, TV, sofa, chairs, tea and coffee making facilities and a minibar fridge was provided with a good range of soft and alcoholic drinks all very reasonably priced. The bed was exceptionally comfortable, a very good night's sleep assured!! The bathroom was lovely and clean with nice towels, soaps, shower and bath soaks provided. The bathroom also had some lovely extras included like cotton buds and face wipes provided. The English breakfast in the morning was lovely with a good range of starters also. The breakfast room was lovely and clean with great friendly service from Stephen. All in all a lovely stay and very good value for money. Gate Lodge is a very well run and exceptionally comfortable place to stay. We highly recommend staying here and we will love to stay again in the future. 5 stars all round!!

Firstly i don't know where to start, me and my partner booked the Gate lodge just on the reviews we read on here, and wow we were not wrong, Stephen and Archie definitely lived up to the reviews, nothing was too much for them, we were greeted with a warm welcome and made to feel at home from the word go . The inside was clean and smelled lovely. Upon entering the room i was taken back with how clean and looked after it was, with every little detail from the mini bar, antibacterial wipes and clean towels and lovely bath robes. But what done it for me and my partner was the breakfast. Everything cooked to perfection, no waiting about either , Stephen definitely makes you feel that you are important as a guest. Archie is also very good at making sure the guest house is well maintained. I can honestly say this was far better than any hotel i have stayed in , as you dont get the personal touches that gate lodge gives you, and now after having breakast here, i can understand why they won a breakfast award. Thanks again for a marvellous stay, and i cant wait to return. Best wishes Robert and Jennie

Spent a week in this establishment and I have to be honest it is stunning. The accommodation is spotless the breakfast is bountiful and cooked to perfection and as for the hosts Stephen and Archie their attention to detail is amazing you honestly could not find better hosts they really go that extra mile to make you feel comfortable and welcome. Myself (Steve) and my partner Dave will definitely pay a return visit and will be recommending to all we know. Thank you guys
