We really enjoyed our stay here. It’s situated right next to the beach; which you can get to down a flight of steps from the campsite. We sat on the beach and watched the sunrise. The restaurant is very good but the shop wasn’t open due to COVID restrictions still being in place. The shower facilities are extremely clean, but they only stay on for seven seconds at a time, which is not ideal. A lovely campsite, which we are looking forward to coming back to next year.

This holiday park is in an ideal location with a direct access to the beach. The pitches are laid out at different angles in woodland so you have your privacy and you are shaded by the tree’s canopy. We went to the restaurant both nights our dog was able to come with us and we enjoyed excellent food in particular the fish very fresh, lovely white flakes in a light batter. Our only negative of the restaurant was that the portion size were too large and have good appetites. The bar had a great selection of gins, I very much enjoyed Queen Victoria Rhubarb Gin. Sadly the showers were in a poor state both the ladies and the gents had mould growing across the ceiling, there didn’t seem to be much ventilation. This is the reason for 3stars and not 5stars. Hopefully the owner of the site can sort out the amenities as this would be a 5 star resort and we would return.

We spent a week here this summer and loved the situation - very pretty and with easy access to the beach and nature reserve. Our pitch was spacious and we didn’t find it particularly noisy (apart from some very loud dogs!). It was unfortunate that the camp shop was still not open, as we had to drive to reach the nearest shop. The toilet block was reasonably clean, but it was rather trying that the taps only run for a few seconds at a time. We only ate at the restaurant once, as we found the menu very limited, and the attitude of some of the staff to be abrupt and unwelcoming. It’s a lovely site, but could be much better.

We had a weekend at Cliff House, not our first, and had a lovely weekend as it is a great site and well looked after. We arrange to stay late on the Sunday so we could stay for the carvery in the 12 Lost Churches (which the site is always happy to do). Halfway through the meal we were asked by the groundsman if we were on a particular pitch as he had someone waiting to get on the pitch (the was at approx 12.45, so before the 14.00 arrival time), which we were, we were then asked to move. We explained that we had arranged to stay longer and that we wanted to finish our meal. The groundsman was not happy and wandered of mumbling that this was the 4th one today. This spoilt the meal, so we did finish early and left, on returning to the pitch we were accosted by the people waiting to get on the pitch, waving pieces of paper at us and telling us we were supposed to leave before 12.00, we highlighted that they were not supposed to arrive before 14.00. On returning home I send an email complaining about this and I could not have received a better response from the owners, they immediately apologised and offered a replacement weekend later in the year. So although the end was split, Cliff House fully redeemed themselves. We have booked the weekend and looking forward to a nice weekend with friends and a few meals in the 12 Lost Churches.

Great location close to the beach. Toilets and showers are well maintained. Children’s playground caters for all ages. This is our second visit and we shall return again however we shall not use the bar/restaurant as both visits we have found the staff and service terrible - this is such a shame as it would be lovely to have friendly staff and better quality service to push our overall experience to 5 stars.
