The bar of the White Horse has a good pubby atmosphere - lots of blokes standing around talking about football, a lad trying to impress his girlfriend, a collection of couples putting the world to rights and an old codger contemplating his pint. We tottered in seeking refreshment having walked there from the town. There is a selection of beers... More

We have stayed twice at this remarkable and beautiful hotel in the countryside. On both occasions we enjoyed a fantastic evening meal, and generous tasty breakfast. The service we received was efficient, polite, friendly and so warm hearted that we felt completely welcomed and as if we were at a second home. The owners and staff were amazingly accomodating to... A group of us went for Sunday lunch having not visited for a few years. The pub is tired and we were squashed against another set of diners with hardly any room to move. The food was extremely disappointing, many of us opting for the roast at £12.50 for one course and sadly the turkey was clearly cheap with a... More

Service atrocious! Food mediocre. Wont be going back again. Every table complained whilst we were there also. Very disappointed. Approximately 45 minutes after finishing our main course we had to ask for a dessert menu. 45 minutes after that we still hadnt been asked for our choice. We therefore asked for the bill for which we had to wait 30... More

My partner and I came out for a midweek break from cooking, he had ribs and I had mussels for starter. Ribs were lovely and the mussel sauce was delicious but unfortunately the shells were all cracked so was picking out the sharp bits before eating the mussels. For mains I had Mushroom Stroganoff which was delicious and my other... More

Highly recommended, ideal for business stop overs or nights away exploring the local area. The rooms are well decorated and very comfortable. The food in the restaurant was extremely good I had the creamy garlic mushrooms topped with goats cheese for staters. This was superb I could have eaten it again. For the main course I had lasagne it was... More
