We stayed for 2 nights beginning of September and had a wonderful time. From the moment we called to book the owners were so friendly and clearly go above and beyond to make sure you have a great stay.
The amenities were spotless, constantly being cleaned and checked. They have a family shower room which is perfect with little ones. Plenty of sanitising stations and all toilet/shower facilities and washing up stations were faultless at every use.
The site is small but friendly and in a beautiful location, we enjoyed the woodland walk and just a general walk around the park in itself. A sweet little lake for fishing too.
The owners are often seen walking around checking everything on their site is OK including their visitors.
A new children's play area is located in the middle of the site so although our little one was too young to enjoy herself it's perfect for older ones to be able to play by themselves but without being too far away.
There is an honestly cafe which is a perfect little touch and has lots of handy items such as logs, firelights, milk, eggs, cold drinks and a tea/coffee machine. They also sell bags of ice and ice creams! There was also a microwave in there which was handy. Again this was kept clean and well maintained.
Overall we loved our stay and could not ask for anything more from a campsite.
Location was lovely and we enjoyed a day down the seaside and stopped in the local pub the Black Horse Inn for a cider on the way home.
Would recommend and will definitely be back!

Friendly welcome nothing too much trouble situated in woodlands quite hilly good walks lots of wildlife to see there is a lake for fishing.

Honesty shop where you pay at end of stay fully stocked fresh milk pastries available. Launderette
Books dvds etc wood available fir fire pits etc bbqs available to hire.

Breakfast can be ordered and delivered to your pitch lovely local produce from bakery and butchers.

Our pitch had its own bathroom adjoining the pitch hot water fab modern shower heated towel rail loo etc very warm with a lock on door.

The only negatives for me were people using our pitch as a short cut to their vans walking right by our van at all times kids playing footy losing their ball by our van but the owners are addressing this by putting up a fence so that's good 👍
The private bathroom is only cleaned once whilst you stay efire you arrive which is odd so take your cleaning bits with you I did oh and take your own toilet rolls.
Can be noisey if kids around because the playpark is in the middle of site be good idea to move the play area to the woods.

Fabulous stay wonderful owners always on hand they live on site no strict rules lots of hot water for us ladies 😉 definitely going back nothing not to like all fab

Amazing!
We went to Brake Coppice campsite at the end of the Easter holidays with our 2 boys (8 and 5 years) in our camper. The owners Dex and Jules welcomed us with a big smile. Their wardens Ayesha and Wilko are a real asset to their team: super-friendly, happy, and very helpful. Toilet and shower facilities were spotless and the honesty shop (most delicious coffee with fresh croissants in the morning- bliss!) was a lovely touch. The site in itself is small and spread out over various levels giving it a spacious feel. It is a perfect mixture of glamping and camping pitches without the dreaded partition markings of other sites. The atmosphere is relaxed: kids congregated by the climbing frame whilst adults chatted to fellow guests when doing the washing up.
The campsite sits in a slight valley which was a real sun trap and protected us from the cold wind (0 degrees at night!). Our boys befriended the campsite owners’ son who was more than happy to share his dens and secret hiding places. We felt so confident that the site was secure that we let the boys run around freely: they disappeared into the woods for most of the day and only returned when they were hungry or demanded ice cream from the honesty shop on site. They had so much fun that they did not ask for their ipads or kindles for the whole duration of our stay.
The site is in a perfect location for day trips to the seaside, Battle Abbey, steam train, and Bodium castle. We made it to the beach a few times but otherwise we relaxed on the campsite. It is not very often that parents get a proper break on holidays as well- we read books, drank coffee, and enjoyed sitting by the open fire in the evenings.
We will definitely return!

We have recently returned from a weeks stay at Coppice Brakes and although it’s a lovely little site I’m afraid that it just simply wasn’t for us.
We booked a tent pitch with a private bathroom 11 months ago, 7 months ago our friends decided to join us and hire a bell tent.
When the booking was made we stated that we would like to be together and this was then followed up by 3 phone calls over the months asking for this and stating that we have a large tent (dimensions given) and also that we would now need to bring our dogs with us.
We were told on each occasion that none of these factors would be a problem and would be sorted on our arrival.

When we arrived we were greeted by the owner Jules who was lovely and bubbly, her passion for the site was clear to see and she was very helpful.
Once shown our pitch this is where problems started to arise, it was blatantly clear that it was too small for our tent (Jules explained that it was the smallest of their private bathroom pitches but all they had available).

She offered us two alternatives but neither were viable as one was also too small and the other was on a very steep hill.
Her husband Des then came over to ‘help’ and things went from bad to worse to ugly pretty quickly.
We almost decided to just cut our losses and head home but then were told we could move pitch (to original one requested the next day).

We pitched our tent as best we could and explained to the children that they needed to be extra careful and vigilant as tent door was literally on the road and tent couldn’t be pegged out etc.

The next day started better as it was confirmed that we could move to originally requested pitch which was larger and near our friends.
Typically, as soon as we started to move the heavens opened 😩
For some reason this site rakes over pitches and adds building sand once tents are gone so rather than the ground being able to dry up and go hard it turns in to mush and becomes boggy (our groundsheet is now absolutely wrecked sadly).

To conclude, we did have a lovely week away and enjoyed the use of our own private bathroom.
Would not recommend this site to those without own facilities as there are 50+ pitches sharing just 2 unisex showers and 3 toilets.
Site seemed incredibly cramped due to all of the buildings added and the stench of the cesspit is like nothing I’ve ever experienced before.

Pros
Private bathroom
Bakery delivery
On site honesty shop
Fishing lake
Clean well kept site
Central Park and play area
Woodland walks
Felt secure
Nice people

Cons
Warden not dog friendly
Private bathroom pitches small
Check in
Awful smell
Very busy
Lack of communal bathroom facilities
Pitches raked so mushy

Sometimes people and places don't mix, we have failed to engage with yourselves which is something that hasn't happened with any of our customers in the time that we have owned the park and we can only apologies for leaving you with negative thoughts. Your numbers don't reflect the position on the park in terms of toilets and requests for dogs to be kept on leads should not be seen as anti canine bias. We are all dog lovers and welcome hundreds to the park each season. However an elongated defence of our facilities or commentary on your behaviour is not going to change how you viewed your stay and for that we are sorry. Wishing well in the future finding what works for you.

My husband and I have just returned from two nights in Oak Lodge and are already discussing when we should book to go back next year!

The lodges are very well appointed with two single beds (set up as a double) and two bunk beds, which would be perfect for children. There is a sofa, tv, small kitchenette (no oven but everything else), table and two dining chairs and a little bathroom with shower. The outside decking had very comfortable seating and they had even supplied a BBQ.

The honesty shop was well stocked and, when we went to get some ice, the kind man working there pointed out that we could turn the BBQ into a makeshift fire pit if we wanted...they even sold a big bucket of logs (not bad at all for £5) and fire lighters in the shop. Doing this meant that even in the middle of October, we were able to sit out until nearly 11pm both evenings!

The site was quiet, well maintained and surrounded by a lovely woodland area. You definitely need walking shoes/boots at this time of year though as it was quite muddy in parts. Not a problem at all...just best to be prepared!

All the staff were friendly and helpful and, like I said, we can’t wait to return when they reopen next year (they are open from March to the end of October)!

After 6 months of staring at the same four walls we needed a new place to chill and unwind. We found a little piece of heaven at Brakes Coppice. Everything was kept very clean. There was the normal daily routine with regular checks throughout the day and facilities were cleaned again whenever it was deemed necessary. There was also the option to use sanitiser and anti-bac products at pretty much every touchpoint.
The small honesty shop had some essentials if you ran out and the shower and other facilities were great. The grounds were just amazing and we probably didn't get around all of it during our stay.
The pitch we have was large and well maintained and the electricity was always maintained at a good level.
One thing to note is that the walk out of the campsite is quite steep, but we got a real sense of achievement every day we walked up it to get to the station.
Certainly a place to go back to when visiting this part of the country again.

This is a very attractive campsite set within a pretty and secluded woodland. The facilities are good – the showers are hot and not like the push button showers with lukewarm water you usually get on a campsite. The honesty shop is a nice addition in case you run out of milk for your morning tea. Owners were friendly and helpful too. It would have been good if the towel rails had been turned on especially during a cold spell while the washing machine facilities were on the expensive side at £5 a wash. If you don’t want to travel out of the campsite by car/campervan during the day, there is also a train station only 15 minutes away – an added bonus in my opinion!

We have just returned from a weeks stay at this beautiful site (extended) as we was having such a good time. The site is spotless with great facilities and Des, Jules and there son are so welcoming and lovely. The site is well situated 10 minutes from a beach and plenty of forest area to walk in. The coffee shop with honesty bar is a great idea and the ice creams were a favourite with our children. The toilets and bathrooms are spotless and the family bathroom made our lives so much easier. The site is well maintained and honestly nothing was to much trouble. It is safe and the playground is a lovely touch. We have had the best week at this site and will definitely be returning for another stay as we did not want to leave. We have no negatives with our stay 🙌 Thank you so much for a wonderful week away.

We stayed in "Elm Lodge" a beautifully fitted out cabin. Like the Tardis there was more on the inside than you'd believe - a perfectly sweet kitchen/ sitting area was separated from a luxurious double bed with a view by a partition wall. There are bunk beds tucked away too for kids and the generous shower and effective heating were a real treat as the temperatures dropped in the evening. The cabins have their own gardens which are peaceful and quite secluded, many with an entrance to the woods. You'll need to take stout shoes and like climbing for walking among the trees also do take food to barbecue and a DVD or two to watch on the mini screen perhaps but much you'd need is provided in the coffee shop so if you choose a cabin it's the easy life. Otherwise the Yurts with their own bathroom cabins look very stylish alternatively many people bring their own travelling homes and whether under canvas or in vehicles all types of camping fit well into the lovely landscaped plots. The manager and team couldn't be more involved, helpful and friendly. We are not generally campers but very much recommend this experience.

The campsite is a little off the beaten track, in a beautiful valley sheltered from the worst of the British weather. It has all the facilities you will need, including a secure entrance, toilets/showers, and an honesty shop. The owners are fantastic and couldn't be more helpful, even popping round to all the pitches every evening to see if you needed anything for the following morning.
The pitch itself was stunning, situated between a woodland and a stream, with a little fence for added privacy. We were pleased to find it had it's own water tap, and washing up facilities were only a few yards away. Our pitch was extremely well sheltered and despite high winds and torrential rain, we experienced very little of it.
A couple of slight concerns about the pitch; it was quite small and very little of it was flat. However the biggest concern was the open sewer, with a loose and poorly fitting cover over the top of it, right in the middle of the pitch. We handled this by moving the tent away from it slightly and covering it with a table. Had we a bigger tent or children with us though, this would have been a major problem. For us though, we felt we could cope with this for the significant other upsides to the location.
Did we enjoy ourselves here? Absolutely. Would we return again? In a heartbeat.
