The Cooden Beach Hotel is in Bexhill, East Sussex - a unique award-winning 4* hotel that is located directly on the beach. Just take a step from the terrace to start a wonderful walk along the coastline! We’re an independent family-owned hotel offering a range of accommodation and dining experiences - including the contemporary Brasserie on the Beach and Gin Palace. Wherever you choose to relax, you are only a few steps away from the beach and there are no roads to cross to get there! The hotel has 41 rooms across the main building and the Sea House in the garden, many with Tempur mattresses. There are interconnecting and family rooms and even a four poster bed. Our Brasserie on the Beach is open for breakfast, brunch, lunch, afternoon tea and dinner. There is also a Beach Terrace and d Cafe Bar which are great spots for an informal drink and bite to eat. The Gin Palace is set within our Cafe Bar and features 18 artisan gins and 9 specialist mixers too! . The Sea Cottage Spa is located adjacent to the hotel and offers a full range of treatments. If you are a golfer, you will love our neighbouring Golf Club - an 18-hole Lynx course that is well known in East Sussex. We would love to host your wedding at the hotel. Visited overnight for my wife’s birthday as we were having dinner with friends locally. Booked sea view room. No hot water in room ! Apparently they had had problems but still sold the room, which was expensive. Had to speak to 6 people at various levels to extract a 50 % reduction - not offered and had to be asked for. Evening ruined. One suggestion was to bath/ shower in another family room and then go back to ours !! Room itself was tired and badly finished ( eg hole in wall by shower fitment, gap between bath and wall, plastic headboards, TV misaligned on wall )and vastly overpriced. Professional approach should have been an apology, a refund and a complementary breakfast - but the half rate reduction had to be extracted after numerous conversations with a hierarchy of people on and off site. A really bad approach to customer service with regard to a room which should never have been sold without such a fundamental facility

Thank you Cooden Beach for yet another lovely meal. Our family have been visiting the Cooden Beach Restaurant since the days of Marie and Manuel, and Lester on the piano. We visited today for a delicious ladies that lunch meal. This place continues to delight us with its atmosphere, food and staff. Thank you to Andre our waiter and all the other staff in the team.

We have dined here many times at this wonderful place. This has been my go to for the last couple of years for lunch. Its great to see the improvements that have been made which gives a much nicer feel to the surroundings and the staff are always so lovely. One of my favourite things for a real treat was the out of this world chocolate fudge sunday. This unfortunately has now been chsnged to a brownie sunday which im sad to say doesnt come close…. (and actually does not taste particulary nice) everyone i know says the same! Please can you go back to the original?!! Have also noticed that scampi has disappeared- please reinstate this as this too was such a lovely lunch! My harmony and lunch will then be restored. 😊 Thank you.

We stopped off here for a snack lunch, on the outdoor terrace, while on a New Year’s Day walk along the beach. Apart from being a very pleasant setting, the food was good and in particular we thought that the service was friendly and efficient. We’d definitely go there again when next in the area. From what we could see, the bar and lounge area inside was clean and well maintained too.

4 of us had booked for Saturday lunchtime and were greeted and shown to our table overlooking the beach. We ordered starters of haddock scotch eggs, beetroot salad and crab fish cake. All were served quickly and were beautifully presented and very tasty. Main courses were duck breast, 2 of the bisques and lamb rump. Again, everything was of high quality and certainly exceeded my expectations. The service throughout was very good. Drinks were nice although my pint of Long Man could have been better. I suspect they may not turn over too much of it, so they need to keep an eye on it. Loos were spotlesslessly clean, which to me is always a good indication of quality and cleanliness throughout and it was nice to have proper linen serviettes at the dinner table… again a good sign. Will definitely return..perhaps for overnight next time.
