Came here 1 year ago after visiting Sheffield park, and it was the best Sunday roast I ever had. Now it's just lost all its character. When you first walk in (even on a Sunday when I went) the place was empty, with only one person talking, who turned out to be the manager. The place is a very old... More

This has to be the worst hotel I have EVER stayed at. At £100 for one night, it is also the most overpriced for just a bed. The price was meant to include full English breakfast, but this was not given. The "continental" breakfast was soggy toast, a mini box of cereal and a plain yoghurt from the tatty old... More

When we arrived at 2pm there was not a soul to be seen and the hotel was in darkness. I called and shouted but still no one appeared. When I walked outside a lady eating a burger and chips jumped up and with a mouth full of food mumbled "hello!". She could tell by my reaction I was unimpressed with... More

Stayed in a room with a four poster bed which was lovely. The bed was comfy, room was clean, albeit very dated, with a desk area. TV worked fine though the WIFI didn't work as room is on the top floor.

We stayed one night at this old pub/hotel. Our room lacked bedside tables and lamps. The towels were stained, the wifi was lacking in the room and the TV reception was poor. Furnishing is dated and our bathroom suit had seen better days. This place could do with new management and a refurbishment. Not value for money as we paid... More

The hotel is an "old English pub" as per the description it gives itself. So you don't really expect high quality as other accommodation classed as hotel. The room was clean and very spacious, 2 double beds, and the bathroom was clean and everything work albeit very dated, green avocado and a single bar electric heater above the mirror. I... More

On arrival asked for a white Zinfandel Rose, only to be told we have run out, we did have some. Ok I'll have a gin and bitter lemon. No chance of that either. Run out of bitter lemon. Excuse was been on holiday. Well order double before you go or put someone in charge of ordering. Walking in, it felt... More
