Its prime location garners appreciation for its convenience, although nearby noise has been noted. Sarah and Molly behind the bar and in the restaurant were amazing. Their service was ace and I saw their hygiene standards first hand…Top of the range. Two hard working members of staff that should be rewarded.

Lovely food as well, nice touch with the fresh chilli.

Room, parking (paid for) fine though with the latter neither of the 2 pay machines were working so I had to go online in order to pay. The helpful staff member said there were problems with the machine's wifi and that she had contacted the parking firm. Service at breakfast on the first day was fine but on the second was less so. Our tea and coffee were initially served at table in cardboard cups so I asked if my wife's tea could be in a china pot and mug as on day 1. I received a mumbled male reply of "we've run out". There were 5 other people eating at the time! Not good enough.

For the seventh year in a row I stayed at this hotel at Christmas. The hotel provides an excellent service and I was even able to understand the robot check in!

Now for the little down: At breakfast the plates were cold and the food only just warm. The quality of the food was as good as ever but this took the edge off it.

Now the big up- which resulted from a down! In the morning of my last night there was nil hot water. I reported this to the manager who gave me a card with a contact web site and informed me I would get a full refund. When I got home I made contact and within 3 days the night' s stay was refunded. No problem and no fuss. How nice to see a retailer keep to his word. Well done.

As usual I recommend this hotel

Ok, I chose this hotel due to the heatwave making aircon a necessity when 4 in a room, and it’s location. We stay in Premier Inns regularly when we travel and never had a problem before. The hotel was woefully understaffed, just 3 members of staff doing the restaurant, bar, check in and housekeeping. I presume this was due to covid reasons. My family (2 adults, 2 children) arrived at 5:30pm and we were given a room which was not set up for a family. It stank of stale smoke, was very small compared to other Premier Inn rooms and only had one bed set up and one towel. The room was supposed to be set up for 4 during dinner. After 2 more trips to reception, we finally got someone into our room at 8pm to find out they’d set up the wrong room and we weren’t even staying in a family room. Kids were exhausted by this point and needed to sleep due to a very important next day.
We had to move rooms. Still not enough beds in there. Waited until 8:30pm for an extra bed to be brought in and set up. ANOTHER trip down to reception because there was no power in the new room. Finally had power but the aircon not working properly so another trip to reception to get that ‘reset’. We had zero sleep that night because the aircon actually was broken in that room and kept us all awake with a super loud turbo boost every 40 seconds ALL NIGHT.
Next day took 2 attempts talking to reception to finally get them to realise the aircon was broken. We needed to move rooms AGAIN. Finally on the second night, after the very important event had passed we got a decent room, but it was too late at that point. The staff do deserve brownie points because it can’t be easy working in a hotel like that with low standard of rooms, not enough people working etc. They gave us a refund for our breakfasts, I didn’t ask for a full refund on their goodnight guarantee because the staff tried their best to make good of a bad situation.
On another note, if you want a hotel that feels quite covid secure, this is not it. Other hotels we stayed in recently had hand gel by the elevator bottoms on each floor and next to doors. Spotted a couple of bottles hidden and unused in the lobby at this hotel but didn’t feel like any cleaning of communal surfaces was going on.

I have stayed here many times in the past and have been very happy. This time was almost unbearable due to no wifi which had a major impact on our stay due for the need for both of us to work. Both the basic and premium wifi did not work although we were charged twice, a total of £30 lost. Staff said it was because of a new building blocking a mast????? Not sure how many times we said it was not our phones but the wifi in the rooms. We stayed in room 610. One member of staff went with my husband to try the wifi on the 9th floor where she said it was better but it was non-existant there too. We had no joy with the staff on site or the Premier Inn Chat on social media who both said it was an issue with Virgin.........if it doesn't work in your hotels and you advertise free wifi then Premier Inn needs to own the issue and resolve it for their customers not advertise a free service that is not being delivered.
A week later I am still battling with Virgin who are simply not responding.

Response from Whitbread Hotels and Restaurants, Other at Premier Inn Brentwood Hotel
Responded 11 Nov 2020
Hello there, thanks for taking the time to share your review. Whilst we're happy to hear you regularly stay with us and usually enjoy your visit's, we're sorry the same can't be said on this occasion. I can imagine the issue's with WiFi left you feeling let down, especially as you were staying with the intention to get some work done and this certainly isn't how we want our guest's to feel. We'd like to assure you we take comment's like these very seriously and we have ensured your feedback is picked up with the hotel manager to see what improvement's can be made going forward. We wouldn't want standard's like these to continue so the WiFi will be inspected to ensure any faults are rectified. If you paid for WiFi on our website when reserving the room, payment would've went directly to Virgin. If you'd like to pursue a refund for this, please continue to speak with the Virgin customer support team and they'll be happy to discuss it further with you. Thanks again for getting in touch and we hope to see you again soon. Ricky

Arrived at 1.30pm but check in wasn’t until 3pm which we knew but just wanted to ask if we could store our luggage. When we said we had a booking we got a rude response that check in wasn’t until 3pm but wasn’t given a chance to explain we wanted to store luggage. Staff were very very rude and unwelcoming as were the desks. We then arrive on the 7th floor to find our room not ready even though we arrived back at 4pm. I called reception to be told to go all the way back down with our luggage. Then manage to get a room with no apology. The hotel is very run down and is nothing like any premier inns I’ve stayed in before. The restaurant isn’t open until 6pm and is then only open for breakfast. I asked for clean towels and a clean bed sheet as ours had food spilt on it in the morning and was told I should have asked the night before but I didn’t know I would need a new sheet before. I said I did mind putting the sheet on myself if they put it in my room but I was told they are busy and can’t do that. Overall a very poor stay with rude staff.

Absolutely horrific stay! We booked this hotel for a wedding and arrived back very late, we got to our room and realised the air con wasn’t working, the windows have restricted opening, not to stop you falling out, as stated, but to stop you from smoking out of them, they don’t let in any air at all and with the air con not working, it was unbearable, we finally admitted defeat at 6:30 and left for home, when I got home I wrote them an email explaining the horrific night and today got a reply to say I had not advised them in enough time, so doesn’t fall under their good night guarantee! More lies unfortunately from premier inn…avoid at all costs.

The staff are miserable and ignore customers and the breakfast was inedible slop, absolutely nothing like the pictures they advertised.

Feel really cheated and scammed by premier inn. How can they knowingly book guests in to rooms like that and then try and blame it on their customers? Several people in our party and the hotel was complaining of the same issues!

Disgusting!!!

Also other reviews complaint of this issue from July, so they are fully aware and just ignoring the problem!

As long as your not expecting the Ritz you'll be fine.
Beds are very comfy and clean.
Bathroom basic but had all the facilities.
Aircon worked well.

The staff were polite and helpful (having read the negative feedback remember they can't read your mind so ask if you need something).

Breakfast was good- you need to ask as your seated for any veggie options to be cooked for you. The coffee is very nice.

Car parking is available around the corner and for £6 a day I think it's reasonable, especially when the Victoria line is in view.

I have stayed in this hotel several times now and it’s my ‘go to’ hotel in Brentwood when I visit family and friends. Usually a lovely comfortable stay with great food - close the station. Breakfast is always outstanding especially with Ridha is cooking it with a smile !
For family rooms, the second single bed is very hard and uncomfortably firm and not really fit for purpose. They could with investing in some mattress toppers for family’s to use. I asked for an extra duvet to make it a little softer which the hotel usually sorts for me quickly. On this occasion though, I had to ask twice several hours apart and the manager was quite rude and dismissive of my request when I asked first time.
The young lady on reception was wonderful though and couldn’t do enough for us. Her customer service was excellent. It is in a location for going out too, so we were disturbed at 3.30am by drunk people shouting in the hallway outside our room which was annoying but not the hotel’s fault. All this said, we will definitely stay here again.

Overall a great stay, clean rooms and good service.
We went down to the restaurant to eat before going out and being gluten free this can sometimes be difficult however the service was great with lots of help and lots of choice of foods. Thank you!

Apologies for the late reply, the Elizabeth Line is literally 5 minutes walk to the Premier Inn and goes from Liverpool Street without needing to change. Unfortunately I can't help re ticket prices as we use Apple Pay as and when we travel, the TfL website should help.

If you search for the Premier Inn website they say they cannot open until the Government let's them. I think the first time will be in a couple of weeks time for all hotels.
