We have just spent 9 days at The Cottage at Phoenix House. It is so comfortable & clean, well equipped and offers wonderful space with a lounge area as well as bathroom and good sized bedroom. The cottage has a separate door from main house which makes coming and going very easy. Guests are encouraged to use the very pretty... More

I have been stopping here for a couple of months due to a new job in Chelmsford. The accommodation is top class. Very spacious, spotlessly clean and well equipped. You couldn't want anymore. The location is idyllic too. Close enough to Chelmsford and rail links to London, but situated in the middle of the Essex countryside. Fantastic for cycling or... More

We stayed at The Cottage for one night following our Essex wedding. Sadly for us, we were only there for a short stay after the wedding festivities ran later than we had planned - would have loved to stay on! Lovely self-contained room - bright, clean, and with all the amenities you could ask for. Jayne and Tim are absolutely... More

I spent 2 nights per week here over a period of several weeks while doing some work in Chelmsford. Its about 10 mins drive from the Park and Ride and all on its own in the beautiful countryside. The view from the breakfast table is amazing. The self contained accommodation consists of a large comfortable double bedroom with a sitting... More

Having fallen into a bog literally up to my knees on the Esssex Way, I must have been the dirtiest guest Jayne has ever had! However, she washed my walking ttrousers and dried out my boots overnight without batting any eyelid. What a star! We loved the Cottage - beautifully furnished and everything needed was to hand. Breakfast was fabulous... More

I stayed for 3 nights during a business trip and unfortunately couldn't carry through on my future bookings due to a change in circumstances - A beautiful cottage for 2 and I believe would make a pun ideal setting for a holiday in the area. Friendly family run B&B and a lovely breakfast - only ask and these lovely people... More

I stayed here while in Chelmsford for work - it was a really relaxing place to come back to, very comfortable with an excellent selection of DVDs to unwind to. Breakfast was amazing, and nothing was too much trouble for Jayne and Tim. Spotlessly clean, quiet, peaceful - will definitely return.

The cottage is situated in a beautiful, quiet, countryside location, yet close enough to access local towns via a short car ride. I stayed week nights as working in near by Chelmsford, and coming back to a clean, well-equipped, and spacious suite made being away from home a much easier experience. Being summertime, I was able to enjoy evening walks... More
