Been here 2 times on business. The place is very beautiful. You do not need to leave. The food is wonderfully prepared and the staff are helpful. It is a model for other hotels to strive to achieve. I hope to be back.

We did not stay at the hotel but met up for a family get together. Originally planned for July we were compelled to cancel at the last minute due to problems with the channel tunnel. Trying to rearrange things with my busy family has been difficult but the staff could not do enough to help. Finally we made it on... More

stayed here for one night with my partner.Rooms are pretty basic but clean.location is useful if you need to commute/get into town but sadly that means the views are not good. Bar area down stairs is quite posh but for the price you would hope the rest of the hotel would be to a similar standard.

I spent a night here for a business course. The hotel is sited over a mile from the city centre, so if, like me, you need something to eat, you expect to be able to do so in the hotel at lunch time. Not at the South Lodge. "Sorry the kitchen's closed". That was on a Saturday and, would you... More

Stayed here on Saturday night, check in was quick and simple and there is ample parking available. Venue is good, short ten min walk to the town and a tescos not far away either. Staff were helpful, the key was on a huge keyring which we had to dismantle to take out for the night. The room was pretty big,... More

Stayed on business and chose this hotel because it is near to the station - that was the only plus. My bedroom was in an annexe and smelled damp. The carpets were grubby to the extent that i would not put my bare feet on them. Dust on tv and lampshades, noisy fan in bathroom, and a well worn bathroom.... More

Stayed here due to family funeral in the area, and held the funeral reception/wake here. Food was ok and plentiful, probably too much food and a lot of waste. From the moment I called to arrange this, our arrangements were carried out very well and efficiently by Cristina, and all e mails answered promptly. On our arrival we were upgraded... More

Room and Bathroom was clean and tidy, breakfast was plentiful and well presented, staff very attentive. Yes I would stay again, and really can't understand bad reviews.

Well where do I start, first impression hotel looks alright bar area and staff couldn't be more helpful and nice but this is where it ends.
