A first class stay at the delightful Gate House! A warm welcome from Jane, a spotlessly clean and immaculate room and a delicious breakfast! Would wholeheartedly recommend and would love to return to eat at Haywards, the adjoining restaurant. The pub next door - The Forest Gate - was great too!

I had a wonderful stay at the Gate House. I was traveling alone from the U.S.and quite unfamiliar with the area. I had many questions that were immediately answered via e-mail before my arrival. Jane could not have been any more welcoming and accommodating. My room was very clean and had a hair dryer, coffee, tea, biscuits and toiletries. The...

Lovely stay! Jane is super friendly and really welcoming! Breakfast was delicious. Rooms are clean and bed was so comfy! We had a drink in the pub just across from here which was also very nice and welcoming with good prices. We didnt eat as we went out for a birthday but the menu looked lovely!

Such a wonderful find. We stayed here for one night, to attend a wedding at Gaynes Park, just 10mins drive away. And I only regret that it wasn't for longer. The cottage has 4 rooms available, all beautifully furnished, with clean en suites and wonderful cotton sheets. There is a communal lounge and kitchen you can enjoy or use your...

Great location for walking straight out Into Epping Forest. Room immaculate, with extra touches such as bottled water, biscuits, shower cap with the toiletries! Wifi available, pleasant sitting room with books and info on the locality. A warm welcome received and the feeling that nothing would be too much trouble, if you needed to ask. A matter of steps away...

Lovely clean room and bathroom. Really tasty cooked breakfast - definitely worth the extra money! Really convenient location for a wedding in Gayne's park. Only reason I haven't given it 5 stars is that check out was slightly earlier than I'd have liked.

We stayed in the flat at the Gatehouse for 2.5 weeks in between a house move. Although it was a tight squeeze for a family of four, it was perfect for our needs. The accommodation was clean and tidy and well maintained. Jane and her team were friendly, went out of their way to help us wherever possible and I...

Great one night stay while attending a wedding at nearby Gaynes Park. Immaculate, well appointed rooms, great breakfast (upgraded to the full English, well worth the extra fiver particularly after a heavy night!). Also enjoyed a pint in the pub next door. Thanks Jane, enjoy your travels. Debbie & Brian

We booked three rooms prior to our mother's funeral at the nearby Woodlands Burial Site. Our host, Jean, was very welcoming and sympathetic to our reason for staying there. We were first to arrive and we were shown all three rooms which were immaculately presented. We chose the self-contained flat which is separate from the main house and very spacious....
