Detailed Reviews
Stayed for two nights recently while visiting friends and family in the area and will definitely being staying again. Great easy to get to location, close to good access roads yet still retaining a real rural feel.
Large comfortable rooms with everything you need, wonderful breakfasts and friendly hosts (Liz and Dave) who really go out of their way to ensure you have a stress free stay.
Dog friendly too.

We had a lovely one night stay at Blatches Farm. The room was clean and well equipped, big comfy bed. Breakfast was delicious, I am gluten intolerant and the owner was happy to accommodate my needs. Peaceful, rural setting but handy for a trip to IKEA! Thank you

I would highly recommend staying with Liz and Dave on the farm. The rooms are lovely and the way they make you feel at home makes a big difference to the working week. A really good nights rest followed by the best breakfast.
So much better than the more sterile chain hotels.

We were delighted to return after 6 years to find that little had changed and the welcome and quality of rooms was as good as ever.
The peacocks are a treat and there is space to walk your dog, accompanied by the lovely resident dogs.
Breakfast is excellent as is the friendly atmosphere. Thanks! x

Stayed for three nights & wished we could have stayed longer. Ideal rural setting but easy access to the surrounding countryside.
Large, very clean room with comfortable beds & a small fridge provided by Liz for my wife's skimmed milk, a really nice gesture.
Breakfast, freshly cooked, delicious & massive portions really set you up for the day.
Thank you Liz & Dave for a first class break.
Highly recommended.

Without doubt the best bed and breakfast in Essex. Friendly hosts, idyllic off the beaten track setting yet within 15 minutes of Stansted, 5 minutes to Dunmow and 10 minutes to Braintree. Spacious rooms with ensuite facility's and a hearty breakfast to finish off ( proper butcher's sausages too, no Richmond rubbish here). Cannot recommend highly enough.

My wife and I had an overnight stay here at the weekend, and we cannot rate it high enough. We arrived around 8pm on a very cold and frosty evening, and we were greeted by Dave, who could not have been more helpful, and showed us to our room. The room was very clean and spacious and gorgeously warm, which was very welcome with outside temps at -1C!!!!
Next morning we made our way to breakfast, and were met by Dave and Liz and proper introductions were made. We chatted for ages with them, whilst Liz busied herself with our full-English breakfasts, which turned out so delicious and just what we needed to kick-start another very cold day; the home-made sausages are awesome!!! We left feeling as though we had known this couple most of our lives, as they are such a friendly family.
There is plenty of room for parking and has free Wi-Fi.
Thank you Dave and Liz for making us feel so welcome, and we will definitely be heading your way on our next visit to Essex.
