Probably the best Sunday lunch I have had. I could not fault my lunch. Beef, roast potatoes, new potatoes, large crispy Yorkshire pudding, multicoloured carrots!, greens and a wonderfully rich gravy. Really enjoyed it. Was too full to enjoy the two courses pudding offer.

I'm reviewing our last three visits here - to cover as much as I can in one go. the first time was in October - lunch - first call at 12:15 - had the cod and chips and the crispy cackling pork - both excellent. The only criticism was that chef puts the apple sauce onto the pork and it... More

We had a small funeral afternoon tea for a small party of around 30 people on Monday just gone. They room was just the right size for such an occasion, the staff very friendly and the food was excellent. I would highly recommend.

Popped in for lunch on a dreary wet Saturday and hubby and I decided to opt for the meat sharing platter. We weren't disappointed, it was glorious, tasty chicken, sausages, ham etc etc. Well cooked and well presented, it tasted as good as it looked. I also managed a portion of the lemon and vanilla cheesecake with lemon curd ice... More

Had a lovely lunch here as we came across this pub and the garden that overlooks the estuary. You can access this pub from the High Street and from the estuary side. The food came out quickly, was of great quality and filling too.

Nice bar/restaurant overlooking the estuary, great view and good relaxed atmosphere. The guys are friendly and attentive. Sausage and mash was plentiful, tasty with good fresh vegs, well cooked. I would have been disappointed in my husband's rib though - so lucky I didn't have it! It was coated in a thick, sweet sauce which quite over-powered the meat. Maybe... More

Visited Manningtree for the first time and discovered the Crown. The welcome was very friendly and the food excellent. The service was perfect with just the right amount of attention and the menu extensive along with a good selection of cask ales. There is a space to all in the various sections of the Hotel. I can not recommend this... More

Took my wife for a anniversary meal. Not only was the food tasty and plentiful but excellent value for money too. Great sense of humour from the manager and great all round service. The complete package.

Really friendly Staff Had Sunday lunch which was cooked beautifully with plenty of meat and vegetables which were cooked to perfection. Lovely river views . Landlord was very attentive to detail and made sure that everything was satisfactory. Would definitely visit again.
