We stayed here for Valentine’s Day and stayed in the deluxe king room. Upon arrival there were heart shaped chocolates and sweets on our pillows and red roses in the room.

The room is decorated to a very high standard and has loads of character. The bed was extremely comfortable and faced towards the huge window, which looks across to the sea where you can watch the boats. The view from the bed is just beautiful.

It was immaculately clean throughout and the facilities were brilliant, there’s even a mini fridge, a flat screen, and a tea pot. It’s the little things that made it so special like the bath robes and fresh slippers, bath oil to go in the free standing bath and there’s even a box of various teabags. Hand on heart we couldn’t have wanted for not a single thing more. We could even pop down for a bucket of ice when we wished to the honesty bar, where you can help yourself to alcoholic drinks, soft drinks and bar snacks throughout the night, should you wish.

The bathroom had a major wow factor and was one of the reasons we chose to book this room and we wasn’t disappointed.

To top it all off, the breakfast in the morning was absolutely gorgeous and cooked for us fresh and to order and is served in such a beautiful and relaxing room.

We will definitely be staying again and plan on booking a little treat for a family member also. Book here you won’t be disappointed.

We were warmly welcome by Teresa who checked us in a showed us to our room. We had opted for the Mendoza which is a large room on the first floor at the rear of the property but has the option to have twin beds which we prefer. Everything was done so well and there were little touches which were both thoughtful and generous. The ensuite is very large and includes a roll-top bath and separate large shower with a high pressure of water. The REN toiletries are all included in large bottles with the full range of hand wash, hand lotion, shower gel, shampoo and conditioner as well as a small individual bottle of REN Rose oil for the bath.

The room is well equipped with TV, radio alarm, hairdryer, iron and ironing board, safe, fan and heater. A kettle is provided and a good supply of various tea pigs and ground coffee. A small fridge contains fresh milk and a minibar.

Breakfast has a full range of options. On the first morning we had the full English breakfast which was perfection. The following day we had avocado on sourdough toast and poached eggs, and also smoked salmon & scrambled eggs on toast. All the preserves and ketchup/brown sauce are from Essex based Tiptree.

There is a resident's lounge which is well served with books, travel guides, magazine and board games. There is also an outside raised decked area on the seafront with large comfy chairs and a sofa.

All in all a wonderful place to stay.

We stayed in the Atacama room at the top of the building. The room is large and comfortable with a bath in the room as well as a conventional en-suite bathroom with a shower. Steps up to the room include a steep, narrow final stair case. Views are good when you open the skylight window, weather permitting. Breakfast is included and very good, with a range of cooked breakfasts, fresh fruit was bananas plus cereals. We stayed in March and were able to park right outside the Guest House where there are no parking restrictions. It is a popular spot to park though. Its a very pleasant walk along the seafront to the pier and on to Leigh-on-Sea. The No 9 bus passes in front of the B&B with a regular service to central Southend and beyond. A really good base to explore Southend.

The service has been amazing and better than I expected!

The hosts were very friendly and the room was just perfect, very clean, very comfortable, cosy and had all that someone would want, e.g. different types of teas, hot chocolate, cookies, fridge and the list goes on.

Bathroom was super clean with a shower.

Breakfast was so delicious. I loved my stay, thank you very much!!

The accommodation was by the beach and had free parking!

Everything was easily accessible from the location, restaurants, parks and the drive is not too far from Shoebury, Leigh, Westcliff and other places

We often visit Suthend-on-Sea to catch up with family and friends and we always stay at Suenos. Teresa & Neil make everyone feel very welcame. The rooms are comfortable and well stocked with toiletries. Rooms also have tea & coffee making facilities with fresh milk in the room fridge. The breakfasts are superb. The icing on the cake is that it's located on the quieter beach side of the resort yet is an easy into the town centre

We came to Southend for a girls trip (sisters and mum)

I feel like I’m echoing all the reviews here but honestly Teresa and Neil were amazing hosts. Anything we needed to want trouble at all. They had the perfect balance of friendliness but privacy too. If we needed anything, a quick text and it was sorted.

The rooms were spotless. I LOVE the taste of furniture in the rooms. Very up to date and modern. One of our rooms had a bath tub, which meant a wonderful soak after a day at the beach. The little touches in the room such as the shortbread, chocolates and chocolate were made it extra special :) Super comfy beds.

Location wise- it’s a tiny bit out of the main bit of Southend beach but that’s great because you have the peace and quiet. But still have the lovely view. Parking is super easy too and Teresa gave us multiple options, which made it a lot easier.

There is a cute seating area outside too which is nice in the evenings. It closes at 10pm but that was fine for us.

Breakfast was so yummy and filling. We all had different options, it came out on time and everyone was happy. We didn’t even have room for lunch. And they have great recommendations of places to go (and also to avoid!)

I’ve already told my boyfriend we’ll be coming another time :P Thank you so much Teresa and Neil x

Stay at Suenos was exceptional. The guesthouse is beautifully designed with plenty of room to relax and take in the stunning sea views. My room was spacious, bright and immaculately clean. The hosts Teresa and Neil were very friendly and thought of everything -from the freshly baked lavender shortbread, tea, coffee and fresh milk in the room, to the lovely REN soaps to the variety of creative breakfast selections. The homemade French Toast with Pure Maple syrup was the best I’ve had. I would highly recommend the Suenos Guesthouse to friends and family and look forward to returning later this year.

This was our second stay, and the only place to stay in Southend. Our room, the very stylish "Ushuaia", has a private balcony with binoculars provided. Homemade shortbread awaits with fresh milk in the mini fridge. There is a freestanding bath with the fluffiest of towels. Neil and Teresa are the most welcoming hosts. The comfortable lounge has a well-stocked honesty bar and an outdoor terrace. And there's a very good reason why the breakfast keeps winning awards. - homemade jam and superb local produce perfectly prepared. You'll want for nothing here. This is an absolute gem.

Tony and I had the King room overlooking the sea and that was the icing on the cake as far as we were concerned. The guesthouse is listed as luxury and is situated in Thorpe Bay, the quieter end of Southend and so much nicer. The mark of a good host is that they listen to their guests and this is undoubtedly what Theresa and Neil have done. They have completely gutted and refurbished what was a run down house some 10 years ago and it now certainly deserves its luxury classification. Beautifully decorated and imaginatively presented, comfortable beds you just don't want to get out of, luxurious shower and towels, breakfasts for every taste and to top it all, fantastic hosts who go out of their way to make sure you have the best stay you've ever had. We will go back, for sure.

Hi there, A hotel is usually a larger property with additional facilities such as a bar and/or restaurant on site. A Guesthouse is normally a smaller offering, a house, or rooms in a house where the owners live. There is no restaurant on site, however breakfast is provided. A guesthouse or bed and breakfast offers a more personal experience compared to a hotel as they are usually family owned and managed. At Suenos, we have five guest rooms and a guest lounge with small bar. We live on site, although separately from our guests, and hope to offer a friendly personal experience that maybe one does not always receive from larger hotels. If you have any further questions, please don't hesitate to ask! Teresa Jones, Owner
