We chose the hotel for its location but it's the personnel that made the stay, every person cheerful and helpful. Piping hot breakfast and clean rooms. Our room had a double and 2 singles but was still useable without bumping into furniture!!

As a pair of “silver surfers” marrying not for the first time, we wanted a more relaxed reception than the “traditional “ and this was exactly what Jolene and her team gave us.. Drinks and hors’ dervres on arrival including plenty of well prepared Pimms! With the meal served from a cold table included “home cooked” ham, turkey, various pies and one of the best fish platters I’ve seen in a long while.
Having dining room, two reception rooms, separate bar, sun deck and gardens there was plenty of room.
With the rooms beautifully decorated and the garden nicely laid out with a couple of gazebos in case the weather turned against us, or was too hot!!! The staff met the COVID regs with drinks served to the table and limited numbers being served with food at a time..
I (groom) stayed there the night before and was very comfortable, room with seaview (#2) enjoying a good full English breakfast that set me up for the day
Highly recommend.

We booked in a double room for 2 nights. It was very basic and cheap, but the staff were incredibly helpful. The breakfast was very good excellently cooked and so large the following day I had the kids option. We were there for a wake so didn’t use any of the rest of Westcliff on sea. The wake catered for about 70 people with a buffet lunch after the funeral and an evening buffet as well which were both excellent. There were numerous rooms we could use as well as a bar, rooftop terrace and a garden, which meant we could have conversations it’s all our cousins. The staff were exceptional, very hard working and had the place all cleaned up by the time we came down to breakfast. Thank you to everyone especially Jolene the owner for a brilliant time.

Me and my partner were in the area and came across this nice looking bnb, I waked into reception and was greeted by a woman in a tabard, I asked if there was availability and she replied ‘weren’t u here last night walking up and down outside ‘ I replied I’ve never been here before , she then proceeded to take a photo of me and said ‘ let me send this to my daughter I’m sure it was u trying to get business outside here last night! .. I was so shocked , I have never been so insulted in all my life , she was taking to me like I wasn’t worthy of the establishment.. and she expected me to stand and wait for her daughters reply , I just walked out I was so embarrassed 😞 ended up in tears !! What a horrible horrible woman, and certainly not trained in customer service .. glad we never stayed at such an unwelcoming place .. fuming!!

As soon as we entered we were made to feel welcome and at home. Our room was a great size with sea views and very comfortable. The hotel is just a short walk (less than 10 mins) from Westcliff Station as well as a very short walk to the beach. We had a fantastic Sunday Roast and a great full English breakfast for a very good price. Really looking forward to visiting again.

Just got home from a lovely 2 night stay at the cobham lodge. Our room was lovely and clean and the bed very comfortable. The owners jan and jolene are super friendly as are the rest of the staff and nothing is too much trouble. Our breakfasts were also very tasty. They are currently redecorating a few areas since taking over but what they have done so far is to a high standard. Well done to all at the cobham you are doing a great job. We will definately stay here next time we are in the area.

Owner runs a disco/nightclub in the basement and if you’re unfortunate to stay there when they have an “event” on, the noise inside and outside is unbearable. The owner informed us there was an event on but assured us as we were on the top floor, we wouldn’t hear anything. This was a lie.
The room itself was like an oven to sleep in and the beds were extremely old and uncomfortable. Vomit all over the footpath outside in the morning and when I expressed my disappointment in the morning, the owner suggested I was being rude. I was being honest, she just didn’t like hearing the truth. I feel sorry for the residents on this otherwise quiet street, especially the residential home across the road. Stay away at all costs

Prepare for a warm, happy, glow review! Booked a one night stay for myself and my teenage daughter in a twin room. The staff couldn't have been more friendly and helpful from beginning to end. The hotel is beautiful and the room was clean, quiet and comfortable. In the morning they went out of their way to prepare a special breakfast for my vegan daughter with the ingredients that we gave them, they even made it look amazing! We will recommend to all our friends and family. Thank you to all staff for your kindness and hospitality. Well deserved five star review.

It is very easy to park on the road, it is not too busy. They have a car park at their other hotel which is across the road but a couple of properties down. There was availability to park but I did not bother. Lovely people and very helpful. ...Enjoy!
