Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We used the Wyndham for a reception after our granddaughter's Christening on Sunday 20th August. Everything about the venue is lovely. The bar area and function room are beautifully decorated with comfortable furnishings and elegant decor. Summer, the Manager, was very helpful in all aspects of the organisation and the other members of the team were friendly and efficient. The food provided was tasty and well presented with more than enough for all our guests. We were very pleased with every aspect of the venue and would say it was the perfect location for our special occasion.

An excellent little hotel with super friendly staff, the room was spotless, comfortable and well equipped with a bed that was one of the most comfortable that I had slept in.
The breakfast was excellent with a good choice of cereals and toast with wholesome breakfast bacon and sausages.
We ate our evening meal at the Butchers Arms which has a diverse menu of good dishes, there was 38 in our party and we all ate well, the staff there are super friendly and helpful.
I’d recommend a stroll around the village as there seems to be a few places of interest like the caves, unfortunately we were busy with a family wedding at Clearwell Castle and didn’t have enough time.

The whole hotel was booked out for our son's wedding at the Castle.
Our room was excellent, comfortable bed and very hot water for the shower.
Quiete village so not much noise at night.
The food provided for the Thursday evening was very good and the breakfasts for the days we stayed was excellent.
The staff coped fantastically well as it was a big wedding with most guests staying - kitchen staff and the bar staff were always polite and helpful and did a great job.
Thank you all very much for helping to make it such a good weekend for us.
Pauline Britton.

Two nights stay at room one at the Lodge was clean and a good size. Shower room toilet only 4 inches from the wall ,no space to sit comfortably apart from side on. No milk or tea/coffee replaced until we asked.
The breakfast was the worst we have ever had .so called continental consisted of Kellogg variety packs of cereals and were later added to with the smallest croissants we have ever seen. We then had under cooked bacon and sausages with dried out Babs which had been left under the heat lamps.
Never worth the £150 we paid.

Accommodation was nice and located near to the castle for us to attend a friend’s wedding. We were incredibly disappointed to find the bar and restaurant closed however, and were not made aware of this in advance so we could have booked a table elsewhere.
We intend to come back sometime and hopefully everything will be up and running.

A lovely place to stay during our wedding. Our wedding party stayed there for 2 nights, each with a buffet, and it was a brilliant time. The rooms were lovely, the beds really comfortable, the food was amazing, and the location to the Castle was perfect. It was also the best place for bridal prep with the large landing upstairs, so would highly recommend for any couples looking to get married in the area

Place was booked for the Brides family to stay over the night before the Wedding. There was no food served. But we were able to have drinks after having dinner at a near by pub. Rooms were good and comfortable and good location as Wedding was at the castle

Enjoyed the experience! The room was clean and welcoming - with a huge Super-King sized bed.
Very good breakfast in the morning and a pleasant area to relax in whilst we waited to get a call from the wedding venue.

Spotless rooms, comfy beds, friendly and helpful staff, great food - what more can you ask for.
Set in beautiful countryside, I would fully recommend a stay at the Wyndham especially if you are attending a wedding at Clearwell castle as the location is perfect
