Nestled in a charming setting, Corse Lawn House Hotel captivates guests with its old-world allure and quintessentially English ambiance, albeit a few find the decor somewhat dated. The spacious rooms come equipped with comfortable beds and delightful extras, such as homemade biscuits, though a handful of visitors have pointed out a need for enhanced cleanliness and refurbishment. While the service at the hotel is often lauded for its professionalism and friendliness, rare instances of delays are noted. The culinary offerings and special deals are recognized for providing excellent value, making dining experiences a highlight for many patrons.

My wife and I visted this fantastic establishment to celebrate my wife's birthday and was not disappointed.
The location is very well sign posted from some distance away though the post code on the satnav worked perfectywell.
There was more than adequate off road car parking alogside the house.
On entering there was a very well laid out rception area and we were warmly welcomed and shown to our room.
The room was largw and light with a great onsuite bathroom.
The bed was very large and comfortable. There was not the usual sachts of tea and coffe but leaf tea and ground coffee. We had a more than adequate supply of decaff ground coffee which I had ordered. Also there was a small but adequate fridge containing mi, still water and fizzy water.
We enjoyed a superb meal in the on site reataurant.
Breakfast was very good though we both found the sausage not to our taste as it was too coarse and herby.
A very nice touch was to see the owner at the reception desk when we left to wish us a safe journey home.

So glad to hear that you were glad to be back!! Actually we do have a vegetarian menu (there is a note about it on the main menu) but you have to ask. We try not to hand out too many different menus and wine lists at the moment - its called obeying the rules!! Anyway, thanks for a great review, and very much hope to see you soon.

This was the 1st treat away after the easing of lockdown & what a treat.
The hotels organisation with regard to Covid 19 was exemplary.
Organised by our dear friend, we had specific requirements for our stay regarding accommodation & dietary needs.
Nothing was too much trouble for Vicki who organised everything for us without question.
We had ground floor bedrooms, both overlooking the swimming pool & quiet garden area.- very peaceful.
Delightful touches with fresh biscuits, loose tea & cafetière & ground coffee- hotels with more stars & costing much more take note.
Fantastic food beautifully presented with plenty of choice for every palate.
As a coeliac I was very impressed by the attention paid to my needs- I have never had a meal where I felt so secure in what I was eating. Amazing customer service, thank you.
On our 1st evening a lovely couple were dining adjacent to our table & asked us if we had visited Corse Lawn House Hotel before. When we answered that it was our 1st stay & we were finding it delightful they replied you will be back!!
2 nights spent at this truly unique hotel left us feeling as if we had a lovely break at a favourite Aunts house surrounded by friends.
Now to sort out a date for our next visit.

Stayed here before in the summer, when we really appreciated the delightful grounds, wanted to try it again for winter warmth and we were not disappointed. Once again friendly and professional staff, I do wonder about the occasional negative comment given about the staff, how do the guests speak to them? Could that be the reason they don't get a good response? As for the comments about the dirty drive and the reception member who didn't stand up to greet them, it made me laugh out loud. Food was as excellent as I remembered, and I tried a couple of dishes that were totally new to me i.e Rabbit fritters and Montjac venison with a venison faggot, absolutely delicious. Roaring log fire lit first thing in the morning and kept going until bedtime was so welcome on wet and windy days
The hotel was very quiet as I imagine most are in mid January, but service and standards never slipped, full availability at breakfast (very good by the way) and dinner too. Homely touches in rooms, including hot water bottles, fruit, clothes brush etc as well as turn down service are all part of what makes Corse Lawn feel like home,as well as the products made in house like jams and marmalades, canapes, petit fours. We have paid a lot more for mini breaks and not enjoyed half as much, well done Mrs Hine and team, we will be returning.

A Rotary group from Chichester tool over the whole hotel 32 of us in total. With 6 more joining us for dinner.
We arrived at different times but all of us had a lovely welcome. We were all really happy with our rooms and appreciated the ground coffee, lose leaf tea, home made biscuits and fresh fruit in our bedrooms.
On our arrival we were served delicious warm home made scones, with jam and cream with an endless supply of tea and coffee.
It was a real treat to relax by a roaring fire, reading a good book or sipping our pre dinner drinks Dinner on all three nights could not have been better - wonderful food and great service.
The staff could not have been more helpful. Will we return ? YES we will.

We have had quite a few cancellations because of the terrible flooding around the area, so we are the ones that should be saying thank you!!! I am more than grateful to you for saying that you will return, and indeed, we should absolutely love to see you.

The hotel is delightful. Our room was comfortable and we appreciated having filter coffee and loose leaf tea in the bedroom with fresh milk in the fridge. The staff (and the owner) were friendly and helpful. Dinner was delicious, beautifully cooked and well presented. Breakfast was absolutely top of the range; The wine list was comprehensive, well presented, and, most importantly, fairly priced We are returning in January

We have just returned from a lovely two night stay. We were in a lovely room with a four poster bed which was so comfortable I found it hard to get up lol.

The staff are wonderful nothing was too much trouble they were all in full masks & the room & hotel was spotless. We arrived early and had lunch in the bistro which was delicious we knew we couldn’t check in until 3pm however the waiter recognised my name he checked if our room was ready early. He returned five minutes later to say that they had charged lunch to our room & that it was ready and did we need help with our bags.

That evening we ate in the restaurant the food & service was amazing. The second evening we ate in the bistro again we couldn’t fault a thing.

Corse Lawn is a gem of a find. From the real tea , home made biscuits & cafeteria coffee in your room along with a fruit bowl is a delight & a fridge that actually keeps your milk & water cold. In these uncertain times it was the tonic my husband & I needed as he had been shielding for five months as he had a kidney transplant a few years ago & has to be careful. We will definitely be back

Sad to have to write such a negative review for this lovely Hotel,as I have enjoyed many good times here in the past.
A table was booked for myself and three friends in the bistro. We arrived at 7.15pm and were quickly shown to our table.... where we sat and waited and waited... until perhaps 30 minutes later Mrs Hine the owner came to take our dinner orders.
I mentioned we hadn't even been offered drinks by then, to which she sent the waiter over.
Once drinks arrived we waited yet again until I asked for some water for our table as our glasses were now empty. Finally at 9pm, two of us got our starters, and at 9.20pm ,two hours after arriving, our mains came out at the same time as bread rolls..
One of our meals ordered was wild boar sausages, but what came was I presume to be wild boar slices. It was tough as old boots, and when mentioned to the waiter, he just listened and walked away.
We noticed the staff were run off their feet as it was very busy, but preference seemed to be looking after residents, and we felt like uninvited guests who didn't matter.
Having to constantly ask for everything was a real chore and disappointment. I felt embarrassed,as I had said how lovely it had been in the past.
Originally we were offered a free drink each, but eventually after speaking to the manager who was quite arrogant, and not really apologetic and willing to take responsibility, we got discounted meals. It did feel very begrudging, and made us feel rather uncomfortable, when settling the bill.
Sad to say I doubt we will be back unless things drastically improve.

This seems very bad, and I do apologize. Yes, we were extremely busy, and two staff members called in sick on the evening, which is not an excuse but an explanation. I am aware that no one took your drinks order, which was both inefficient of us, and horrid for you, and although I apologized and immediately took your order, it was certainly poor show. I also took the wrong order for your wild boar, we had it on different ways on the two menus, and I was completely at fault, and I am so sorry that you were unhappy with it. I agree it was all pretty disappointing, and I am sorry you were unhappy with my new restaurant managers handling of your complaint. I have quite a new team, although its not an excuse, and they are unused to complaints, and indeed, I should have handled it myself, and apologise that I did not. Just a couple of points. We did not have a single resident in the Bistro, they were, as it happened, all booked in the Restaurant, and your timings do not tally with the times on our orders. But this does not make any difference to the fact that we did badly, and I am very sorry to hear that you will not be coming again. Although I understand your feelings.

We stayed overnight - Dinner + B&B.
The room although large was not used to fresh air we tried to open the windows which was somewhat unsuccessful apart from one which after effort opened marginally. The room was 100% clean but the decor was tired old bath and floor tiles whilst the walls had been painted the doors and skirting board had not. All furniture had been in situ for a very long time. The bed had blankets noo duvets!
The evening meal and service was par excellence our compliments to the brilliant chef whose cooking is the saving grace here.
If they spent some money on updating and modernising this would be an a la carte place to stay. The location itself is wonderful and the staff friendly and polite. alot of positives.

Thank you for all your positives, and they are important ones. I would love to give the hotel a refit, but finding the money is not easy! We hope by doing our own painting and decorating and french polishing we can brighten it up, but I agree it is not one of these amazing modern hotels where money has been poured in - I wish it was!!

The Corselawn Hotel is very consistent.
Nothing super chic.
Good honest well prepared food, properly sauced when appropriate and excellent produce.
Friendly efficient service.
The rooms are spacious with generous furnishings, home made biscuits unlimited coffee and tea with fresh milk from the fridge.
If you have kids there’s a swimming pool and tennis court located in the extensive gardens.
Prices have always been realistic here and the location is convenient and very much Gloucestershire.
The owner ‘Babs’ Hine is still out front leading the team and looks forward to welcoming you.
PS The only place I know with a carriage wheel wash, though I think it’s know only used by the resident ducks

The ground floor rooms definitely have huge beds but some are dog friendly. We did have a walk in shower. I would suggest that you ring the hotel to check exactly what you need - they are extremely helpful and will sort out the most suitable room for your needs.
