We stayed as a family for one night and for the rate we found it fine, clean room, heating was excellent, staff were very friendly and it was perfect for our stay as we were catching up with friends who live in Badmington. The facilities were large catering for corporate groups and weddings and the menu looked fantastic. We didn't...

I was booked in here for a work event. The hotel itself is a rabbit warren and has clearly been added to over the years, so on arrival it's hard to find your way about. There are at least 4 different staircases going off various corridors. My room was truly depressing. It reminded me of my grandparents' spare room in...

Another fantastic meal at the Compass. Popped in for a Sunday roast, and unusually I opted for the Roast beef (I tend to go for lamb or pork normally) and my friend had the lamb, and we both agreed the food was superb. The beef was lovely, and the roast potatoes were the best I've ever had. A good selection...

Great value hotel. Has been in the same family for around 40 years and the staff are friendly, helpful and clearly very loyal to the owner - nice to see. Rooms are comfortable and warm although some are a little tired. Walk through corridor from the reception to the hotel is freezing though! Orangery restaurant always look interesting and the...

We booked a 1 night stay in a family room in January. The room was spacious, nicely decorated and the beds were comfortable but it was directly underneath a cold water tank which filled throughout the night whenever a tap or loo was used anywhere in the hotel. To make matters worse there was no loft hatch above the linen...

A large group of us had Sunday lunch here today .Lovely soup, roast beef cooked to perfection, and sat on some unusual vegetables. We would definitely go here again and would recommend. The staff were very attentive and nothing was to much trouble.Easy to park, with easy access to the motorway.

We had not visited the restaurant for many years and had fond memories. It was very busy for Sunday lunch, however there was substantial capacity in many seating settings, including the orangery. We selected the roast chicken and lamb plus chicken nuggets for the children. The roast dishes were delicious and substantial enough for a large appetite. Service was perfect...

Friendly welcome from the bar manager Kevin.Guinness is spot on and served as a Guinness should be poured. Food is plentifully and taste delishus. Orangery is a nice place to sit and eat, also have the vittles bar and bar area to eat and sit.The lounge area is a nice place to relax and chat with a pint or coffee.

We went here not to stay but to meet a group of friends for food. The pub is very warm and welcoming with a lovely orangery which was a great space. There was a also a private dining area at the end which we also had but was a little too small for the numbers of us there were (more...

The hotel was handy for all routes north and south, though in a quiet location. The room was large, clean and comfortable. The staff were welcoming and friendly. The food was amazing and obviously fresh produce cooked to order; it was not overpriced either, especially for the quality. I wouldn't bother looking for something nearer to Bristol if you can...
