On arrival the combination of damp, distasteful decor and rude staff set my expectations for the rest of the trip. Paintings on the walls are used not to give the rooms character and vigor but to disguise damp. My already low expectations were dashed to dire threads of hope when I discovered the walls were paper thin and that the staff enjoy to perform pantomimes in the corridor at very late house(beyond 12). Reverberating from this, the beds are about are simply a junkies joke, only somebody who’s veins are seeping full of smack has the luxury chance to get themselves to sleep.

By far the worst “hotel” i have ever stayed in. When we arrived we were greeted by a rude member of staff on reception. The place looks run down from the outside and the inside is even worse. The room is filthy and stinks, the walls are paper thin and you can hear EVERYTHING that goes on throughout the hotel. We all slept in our clothes and on top of the covers cos of how dirty the rooms were. Gangs hang around outside the front of the hotel and you don’t feel safe. Paintings on walls hide damp, we didnt even bother having showers due to the mould and dirt in the bathroom. This hotel has ruined our stay in Manchester, we felt unsafe the whole time and we would have been better off staying in the car. How this hotel is still advertised on Booking.com i dont know, definitely needs an inspection of some sort!!

Me and my friends booked this as a last minute stay overnight as we were travelling to Manchester. We became very worried as we hadn’t read the reviews before hand, however once we did we were growing concerned. We originally arrived to the hotel in two minds whether to stay. The receptionist tried to make us bank transfer the funds for the night which we found to be very odd, along with the fact they were charging us £180 for one night, we refused, we wanted to see the room first.

As we stepped upstairs the overwhelming smell of cigarette smoke and must began to make itself apparent, All the windows were covered with a dark curtain along which could only be described as Dracula’s cave with the old fashioned interior. We got into the room and instantly we felt like we were wading through the air as it felt so unclean, the showers were mouldy and the “tea and coffee station” was 3 dirty mugs with food smothered on the table cover, I then looked into the mug, stained with something questionable, the room smelt utterly of urine, me and my friends ran out of the room, but as we did my friend dropped something and we noticed the floor was covered in hair and looked like it had never seen a vacuum.

We then proceeded back downstairs to the front desk, we told them we had to cancel. The receptionist was unsure about the cancellation fee but we wasn’t getting charged for this. We then rang the company we booked with and asked to cancel, hopefully we was able to come out of this fee free.
We then went outside where another few guests were telling us they couldn’t bare to be in the room and was spending all of their time in the car, the mattresses were apparently wet and all of them were using sliders in the shower due to the vile conditions.

A friendly local then spoke to us and told us to get out whilst we could as it is known for being a really horrible place to stay, we instantly grabbed our bags and got into the quickest taxi we could find.

Avoid this place as best as you can, as you may lose money or just spend a little more to get a lot better for the night.

Wish I had read the other reviews before booking. From the outside the building looks tired and shabby - and sadly the ‘hotel’ has succeeded in making the inside match

On entering my room I turned the electric fan heater off and the electrics promptly blew. Fortunately though the lights were on a separate circuit.

The cold water tap in the bathroom was not working and there was no soap/ toiletries provided

The power cord to the tv had a section covered in electrical tape and one wall light was partially hanging off (just as well the electrics weren’t functioning)

I only needed the room for an overnight stopover and in fairness, the bed linen seemed clean and freshly laundered- but I was glad to leave the next morning

As per other reviewers, I’m not sure this place is safe to operate as a hotel

Honestly i don’t even know where to start. Worst hotel i’ve ever ever stayed in, i ain’t fussy we knew it wasn’t going to premium but basic cleanliness should be a given, we were going to a festival and this was the only thing available in the area. We arrived to a rude attendant on the desk who told us they can’t leave the door unlocked as the area is so rough and constantly has gangs outside. Instantly the smell of cigarettes and filth hit us in the hallway, we went to the room to be greeted with no working light switch, we then noticed previous guests rubbish everywhere and holes in the wall. We then navigated the broken bathroom door to finally get into the bathroom to be greeted with black mould on the mirror and above the shower, a leaking toilet, blood on the walls and previous guests shower gel left in the bathroom. If you even remotely said anything negative about the room the guy on the desk was so rude and told other guests to leave if they weren’t happy and refused to let them speak with a manager. Worst hotel experience ever, a genuinely unsafe location and health hazard. Never again.

It is horrible, we arrived for 2 nights for the manchester marathon. And we could tell straight away we had made a mistake but were optimistic people and generally not much bothers us.

But OMG, possibly the worst hotel I've ever stayed in. And I've travelled eastern Europe a lot too. But yep this is now taken the top spot. It's absolute minging!

Our room I think used to be a men's pub toilet, they had just splashed some paint on the tiles and it was all peeling off. There was dampness and mould, the room smelt like a wrestler's jockstrap and the sheets and bed felt damp too.

There were holes in the ceiling and walls. Cracked light sockets and switches. Only 1 light bulb between 4 lights worked. The furniture looked like it was from a charity shop. The tv littrilly only had channel 19 or 25. Good job I like homes under the hammer!

The toilet was leaking onto the floor, the windows didn't open. The old boy that answers the door was very short with me, and yet they don't give out the entry code.

We stood at reception waiting for anyone to even notice we were there for 15 minutes. We phoned them! in the end. They insisted on cash or a bank transfer only, we know why now.

I could go on, but what an absolute hell hole. You get the idea. Never go here. You have been warned.

We only survived as went to Tescos and bought bleach, wipes, new mugs, spoons and a blanket. I should send them the bill!

Please, please, please someone shut this place down.

I stayed in this hotel on Saturday night, I knew it had bad reviews prior so I knew it wasn’t going to be great but I left it last minute and needed something in that area and cheap for one night.
I wasn’t prepared for how bad it actually was, area/ estate around it seems like a very run down and if I’m honest sketchy place.
When I walked in I was hit with a terrible smell of cigarettes and damp, young man at reception seemed really out of it and had no customer service skills what so ever, he said cash only and sent me out to get cash which was fine.
Then gave me a key and told me where my room was, hotels dirty and you can clearly see it’s not been cleaned for a very long time, my room was really gross. Shower didn’t work at all! Dirty sides, I dropped something under the bed and when I looked it was disgusting under there. I actually couldn’t stay in this hotel as I didn’t trust the bed sheets were clean so I ended up staying at my friends locally. And also to mention it was freezing cold maybe because the building was old.

On a more positive note, the older gentleman on the night shift and the Sunday shift was actually really lovely and friendly so I have nothing but good things to say about him. It’s a shame he works somewhere like this rather then a way better hotel.
Overall please do not stay here for £80 I think it’s an absolute con, you couldn’t actually pay me £80 to stay there for one night.

Booked this as a last minute due to visiting family within the area and wasn't able to stay with them and didn't read the reviews first

Where to start......gobsmacked is the politest word possible. First of all the building should be condemned and knocked down. Whilst looking from the outside if there was a fire within then I'd much rather ran the risk of getting burnt than attempting the fire escape. The old man on reception was beyond nosey and wanted to know the whereabouts of were we'd been as if we were meant to be staying within our rooms from the moment we checked in. If you wanting a confirmation receipt for the room don't bother asking as they don't send it

The first room we got given, the bathroom was covered in mould..maybe it was a welcome gift who knows? When asked for a different room the old man said they didn't have any to suddenly having 2 available which was mildly better. Neither of our rooms had heating. The rooms had oil filled radiators which were on their last legs. When questioned about this got told that they were waiting for an engineer to come but having now read the previous reviews this was also same answer in April 2019. The room looked like it had been cleaned in over a week with the amount of dust and dirt that was found which is being generous.

After having checked the room and found this we then decided not to sleep in the bed and slept with one eye open along with wearing the same clothes that we arrived in. When it came to the morning we left as soon as we possibly could

Please for the love almighty DO NOT make any bookings for this 'hotel'. I would have much have stayed in the muddy puddle at a local park that we had my nephew's birthday party in without a tent

I've never walked out of a hotel...this one we had to! Firstly id like to point out I'm not fussy by any stretch, but this hotel was so bad!

Upon arrival we were told we were the only ones staying that night and they couldn't give us a key to either the front door of the hotel or our actual room, due so the key cards on the room doors were not working.... The guy behind the so called 'reception desk' was nice enough and I doubt It was his fault but whoever owns the hotel seriously needs to stop trading until the room is in a safe enough state.

The room itself was pretty grim, stains on the floor and walls, stagnant water in the kettle, electrical fittings hanging out the wall, the shower head actually fell off and clarted me in the head! Safe to say we left within approx 20mins and booked another hotel. Unfortunately that was £65 down the drain...
