Froyle Park is a superb wedding venue, one of the best. The staff are so helpful and friendly, they make you feel like you are at home. It is a country house with great versatility, if you book Froyle Park for your wedding, you have exclusive use. It has so many beautiful rooms, from the intimate Drawing Room and Bar for smaller weddings, to the grand and spacious Ball Room for a more elaborate affair. You have exclusive use of the stunning garden too, including an amazing sunny terrace area. I love Froyle Park not just for it's fabulous location in the middle of the gorgeous Hampshire country side, but for it's ability to be magical, no matter what time of year and for all types of weddings.

We have just held our daughters wedding here and the best thing about this venue is the stunning views. Unfortunately if you have any issues you will not find it very hard to locate staff . Minor things as no toilet paper, air conditioning was not as cool , and the amount of money paid you really should have it perfect. The other major factor is they mention the noise levels however we paid for a piano player to perform at 1pm outside for the ceremony & we could barely hear him as he was told to lower the volume which was not high. I know everyone mentions the decibels but be aware they are more concerned for the complaints of the residents nearby than the customers paying. Unfortunately I would not recommend this venue for certain large weddings but smaller intimate ones it’s perfect .

Hi there, thank you for your review. I would like to sincerely apologise that you feel the day did not run as smoothly as it should have done. We do have a duty manager on the day, who's number is in every guests room should you need anything from us - this is useful if we are not in the office immediately due to helping around on the venue on the day. Regarding the toilet paper, should this have been required the duty manager will have brought this up right away, our cleaning team fully stock this beforehand. The aircon is regularly serviced and runs smoothly, but I will of course take forward your comments to the team so that they can keep an eye on the temperature and adjust accordingly to guests needs. In relation to outside music, this is a licensing restriction that unfortunately we cannot compromise. Of course, we do care about our nearby residents, being in a residential area, but we do feel we have a happy medium. With the outside areas being so quiet - the acoustic music feel is usually the perfect volume - I am sorry to hear you feel it was not loud enough. I do hope the rest of your celebration was an enjoyable experience and these did not tarnish your day too much. Thanks, The Froyle Team

We had our wedding at Froyle Park in April 2023. We both had the best day of our lives. The venue is private, beautiful in look and location and provides plenty of space to be utilised for all the elements of a wedding day. I would recommend Froyle Park to anyone. The rooms were also very nice and there are plenty of them to help sleep guests.

I attended a wedding at this venue and was lucky enough to have overnight accommodation in one of the rooms on the second floor, which was actually a two bedroom apartment. It was clean, comfortable, characterful and had everything I needed. It was so convenient to leave the wedding party and just go upstairs to bed! Parking was ample, and I thought the signage telling guests where to park and which areas would be locked overnight was very clear. May I also add that the wedding I attended was absolutely stunning and this is a magical venue.

We got married at the beginning of September and chose Froyle Park as our wedding venue as it’s a beautiful location and it can comfortably hold larger sized weddings. From the initial enquiries right up to the day itself we found the team to be helpful, patient and responsive to our (many!) emails, with clear explanations about what was required from us at each stage. The venue itself was perfect for an outdoor ceremony (though it could just as easily have been held indoors). We also appreciated its exclusive nature, and the different rooms that allowed for our guests to spread out (there was even a children’s playroom). Also as a dry hire venue it allowed us to create a wedding that was unique to us, but they also provided some great vendor suggestions which helped us with our planning. The day itself ran smoothly and the on-site overnight accommodation was really comfortable. All our guests loved the venue and enjoyed the grounds. The only hiccup was the sound limiter tripping out the music once at the start of the evening party, but this was not an issue throughout the rest of the night as our DJ was able to make things work. We still therefore had an amazing party without feeling the musical quality was compromised. Having read through other reviews, I can see that it hasn’t been smooth sailing for everyone and it is true that there are a number of restrictions in place in terms of what you can and can’t do, but we felt that this was all made very clear from the outset when reading the contract through (e.g. we were aware of the sound limiter and were able to discuss this with the DJ from the start, so while it wasn’t a surprise that it kicked in at the start of the music it was helpful having a DJ who was aware and comfortable with using this type of setup and could still deliver a great night). Overall, we had a wonderful day holding our wedding at Froyle Park and from our experience as long as you read through the contract thoroughly to understand the way things run you hopefully shouldn’t have any unpleasant surprises on the day. We would fully recommend it as a venue! Final tip: despite there being a kitchen for the catering, do not make the same mistake we did in assuming drinking water was easily accessible - make sure you have it arranged separately!

I attended this hotel as an unfortunate wedding guest. My family and I decided to leave around 22.45 from the evening reception. The place was pitch black and we have never visited the area before. The management decided to close the gates without any notification or support to guests of how they were supposed to get out. Being with young children my child and I were stuck behind a locked gate and there was not lights or signposts to direct us to come out. What we got in return were two guys from management treating us like we were dirt, and we were supposed be guests. The taxi was also not able to get in so clearly some miscommunication had happened. What has compelled me to write this unfortunately negative review is that instead of helping us they shouted at us and then had the audacity to say ‘well we will never see you here again’. We could have been a potential customer! If you want your guests insulted and treated in a patronising manner the go ahead book the venue. I would most definitely give it a miss. I or my family will not be coming back, but it was made clear that my type is not welcome anyway!!! Sometimes it is not what you say but the way you are made to feel.

Thank you for taking time to write to us and sorry you did not see the signs up to leave via the one way system down the lane. I will make sure we look at our signage and improve this where we can, especially on the front gate advising taxis to call us. I have looked into the evening and the security company we use, we will not be using again. Sorry for not meeting your expectations on this evening. I hope the rest of the day and evening were better, as we had lots of great compliments from other party guests that evening and this did not effect your day too much.

Venue is beautiful and the wedding went well but lots of issues such as air con was not working and management could not be found to help sort out issues. Also watch out as many people who were not staying could not get taxis and those that did charged extortionate rates. Uber needs to start working here to put these private hire companies out of business by breaking the monopoly.

Thank you for taking the time to contact us. Unfortunately on the hottest part of the heat wave the air conditioning unit did go down and an engineer was called as soon as we could get one. We are so sorry, somethings are out of our control. I do hope it did effect your evening too much and you had chance to enjoy the wedding with your fellow guest despite the heat wave. In regards to Taxis, sorry we do let our couples know early on that we are in a rural area and taxi are best if you pre-booked. we have taken on a few new preferred taxi companies also following your feedback, so thank you again.

Bad signal wifi was not working my whole stay. Rooms had no air conditioning so I was boiling and the fans were old and hardly worked. Managers were rude and ignorant. I asked the manager to sort out my locks for my room because they were deciding not to work and he whispered to himself swearing and being rude Kitchen taps were only coming out with hot water. TV’s were placed weirdly and were a massive problem getting around the room. The locks on the rooms were hard work and I had to get help multiple times for them to work, and the lock combinations were to easy to guess so I had people unlocking my doors every two seconds. Lack of pillows in the beds and when I pulled the duvet back it was filled with crumbs.

Hello, sorry for your experience with the Wifi, it is a shared platform with all our guest and sometime with hundreds of users it does slow down - depending if they are downloading or live streaming. We have upgraded our wifi recently. We are a grade 2 listed manor house and unfortunately we are not allowed to install air con in to our bedrooms without damage to the fabrication of the listing. Being a stone building the rooms do stay cool and we do provide fans in all the bedrooms. Sorry about the locks they can be tricky - we have put up notices / signs to help people out, as others have suggested this previously. Extra pillows, towels etc can be brought to your room if you contact the duty manager. we will make this more readily available for future guests. thanks for your review

We have just come home from two nights at Froyle Park, where we were attending a family wedding. We arrived on Bank Holiday Monday afternoon, and left on Wednesday morning. It’s a nice looking place from the outside. The fountains are impressive, the box hedges neatly clipped, the lawns trimmed and lush. Inside, things take a turn for the worse. The vestibule is dark, panelled in wood that needs polishing, random bits of mismatched furniture. The other communal rooms are all a bit tired and don’t look crisp or clean. The curtains are cheap and lightweight, and the furniture is tired. The wood panelled reception room is beautiful, but doesn’t gleam as it should, or smell of beeswax. The windows aren’t clean. Our suite had four bedrooms. There were three couples and one teen. The couple with the teen had to go through the teen’s bedroom to get to their en suite bathroom. No privacy for all three of them. Our bedroom had a four poster bed placed across the narrowest point. To get round the bed you had to turn sideways and shuffle. Because there was a wonky television hung on the wall (with a random bit of black Velcro) at the end of the bed, you also had to lean forward from the hips so you didn’t either a) brain yourself or b) knock it off the wall. There was a table, with no chairs, and a suitcase stand under the table. No space to have that out so you could use it to unpack. The dressing table blocked the left hand door of the wardrobe, so you could open it a bit, but not a useful amount. The top rim of the wardrobe, a sort of coving, was not attached to the wardrobe itself. There were no hangers. We could not open the bottom drawer. The stool with the dressing table was stained. There was no bin in the bedroom, and a tiny one in the bathroom. The bathroom was… interesting. It was very dark (I couldn’t do my make up in there), and stank of faeces, and the smell was obvious in our bedroom. The water ran brown for quite some time before clearing up. When we decided to go to bed, the curtains were missing curtain rings, and took a bit of tweaking to block the view from the car park into our room. We had to leave the window open all night because of the smell, so it was quite cold. There were no spare blankets or duvets (unless they were in the wardrobe drawer that we had no room to open). In the main room of the suite, my parents-in-law had no wardrobe at all, so they had to hang their wedding outfits in the coat cupboard in the hallway. Their bed was next to a kitchen arrangement, facing a two person sofa, with a kitchen table and chairs next to the bed. Ostensibly a studio apartment, but not very well done. There was a cooker, but no knives or other cooking utensils apart from a pair of tongs and a fish slice. There were saucepans, but we didn’t think they were the right kind for an induction hob, so we couldn’t cook. There was a dishwasher, but no dishwasher tablets. We had one cereal bowl between seven of us, so we took it in turns (my father-in-law gave up in the end and used a mug). Three side plates. Maybe four dessert spoons, three teaspoons, a lot of knives. (No cutlery tray in the drawer, just all thrown in the drawer.) A few dinner plates, but certainly not eight. So even if we had been able to cook, we would not have had enough plates, bowls and cutlery to serve a meal that first night. One of my parents-in-law’s bedside lights didn’t work, so we ended up moving a lightbulb across from the other side. The description of the accommodation at Froyle park is that the suites are “luxury five star accommodation”. Ours certainly wasn’t, and other relatives reported similar and worse issues: lots of knives in one kitchen but no other cutlery; a post broken off the four poster bed, the post tucked neatly behind the headboard - leaving all the nails sticking up out of the bedframe; another found what looked like semen on their bed; the bridal suite bathroom had blood on the wall. Not just any blood either: menstrual blood. This is clearly a definition of “luxury five star accommodation” that I haven’t come across before. Out of the seven of us in that suite, five have worked for years in hospitality. Running a restaurant and b&b; managing pubs; cleaning jobs; estate maintenance. I can assure you that what we experienced was in no way five star. I would have been ashamed to let customers stay in rooms as badly stocked and maintained as these. If you want to run a five star wedding venue, you have to have a dedicated team of maintenance workers, and you have to make sure that each suite, each bedroom, is as immaculate, comfortable, neat, and well maintained as it possibly can be. Currently I’d say that Froyle Park is really beautiful on the website, but is a huge let down when you actually get to stay there. I also don’t appreciate overhearing management staff slagging off the cleaners by making racist comments. A good manager would be doing his job so well that his team knew what to do. Actually MANAGE the staff so that they knew exactly what was expected of them and how to achieve it. And don’t bitch about it to customers, in communal areas, where other guests might hear. Thankfully the wedding went off very well thanks to the family member planning it, and the reception was a huge success. Thankfully we were all excited enough to be seeing each other that we were able to laugh off the bizarre and sloppy accommodation, odd/dated decor choices . Harbour Hotels need to invest a lot more in this venue, or be clear that it isn’t five star. It’s ok to say that’s a bit grunge; I’m sure a lot of people would love that. Oh - if you’re thinking of getting married here, and getting married outside, bear in mind that the paths are made of tiny pieces of spikey grit, which will catch on every stitch of your wedding dress hem, or your train, or your lace. Our brides hem was catching multiple times with each step. Such a shame, ruining the train on the way IN to the ceremony.

Thank you for your review, we are a grade 2 listed manor house and we think the accommodation adds to the charm of Froyle Park. We are not like every other hotel chain with the same bedroom, we have managed to fit as many bedrooms as we can in t this Jacobean manor house. This is why couple love our venue, as the bedroom are situated in the main house and in apartment style shared accommodation - ideal for family or friendship groups attending an event at Froyle. We take all guest experiences on board, so thank you for taking the time to tell us of your experience. We have actioned this by taken on a new maintenance team to look after this beautiful venue.
