It is easily accessible from the M27, junction 11. We have 21 ensuite bedrooms all with comfy duvets, flat screen televisions, tea and coffee making facilities and free wifi. Our lounge and bar area is the perfect place to relax with friends or colleagues. Light snacks, refreshing drinks or tea and coffee are available. When the weather is warm you can also enjoy the tranquil surroundings of our garden terrace. Our Richmond Restaurant is open for breakfast daily, lunch (Sunday to Friday) and dinner (Monday to Saturday. We grow our own herbs and use fresh produce from as many local suppliers as possible. Although we do not have leisure facilties on site, all our hotel residents can visit the local LA Fitness centre, just 5 minutes walk from the hotel. We offer high standards, fine food and excellent facilities, but most of all, friendly personal service delivered by a team of great people.

Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Food great, staff very good, hotel rooms very tired. Rooms look like not changed since 1970s. Very small bed for a double. Can't fault food or staff though. Some money spent on refurbishment is needed. Evening meal and breakfast good. Just everything else very dated.

We went to the Lysses House Hotel for a dinnerlast weekend. We had special menu with choices. The bar for drinks before the meal is very comfortable and the bar itself carries a good selection of wines, beers on tap and spirits. Staff had placed name cards on the table for us so we sat and ate. The food was well flavoured and delicious. Service was judicious and not too intrusive. The whole evening was very well managed and, I think, modestly priced for what was served. James who looks after front of house so professionally and Clive, the head chef should be commended.

My fellow book club members and myself enjoyed our New Years get together today for Afternoon Tea . Not seeing any savoury options on the menu I rang beforehand to ask if cheese scones would be available instead of the usual sweet scones. 3 cheese scones were found - warm and fluffy. We asked for pickle or cream cheese to complete the savoury ' cream ' tea. 2 bowls of differing chutneys arrived. No cream cheese, but this was quite an ask ,as cheese scones weren't on the menu anyway. Plenty of refills of tea and coffee kept flowing. Many thanks to the kitchen and wait staff. We had a lovely couple of hours Perhaps savoury items could be added to the afternoon tea menu.

Only an overnight stay but disappointed in the maintenance and general standard of the hotel. In need to updating overall. Beds were comfortable, breakfast was reasonably good and service was acceptable. Nothing special and would not visit again.

This hotel is very disappointing. The hotel itself looks beautiful and downstairs still has all the lovely period features. Rooms are like something from the 80’s in desperate need of updating and renovation. The quilt was clearly old with stuffing missing in places!! The double beds were tiny also! The shower head was filthy, shame as the bathroom was to a nice standard. Bedroom carpets are old, worn and grubby. Hair dryer was very hot and slow. These rooms (no.23/no.5) were not pleasant to stay in and are old and musty. We were using vouchers kindly given as a gift but had we paid ourselves I would have felt very cheated!!! Very polite young lad and girl at breakfast on Sunday 17th Dec thanks for your excellent service.

I went to Lysses restaurant for lunch today with a group of friends and couldn't fault anything. The service was excellent and the food was outstanding. I hadn't planned to eat 3 courses but it was well worth it. The price included coffee and petits-fours. The service was slick and professional, the decor is sophisticated and elegant and I would thoroughly recommend this venue if you want more than 'pub grub'.

We had our wedding ceremony and reception at Lysses house hotel, the staff were incredible and made sure everything went smoothly. The food served for our “wedding lunch” was delicious and very well presented. The whole day was beautiful. We stayed the night before and the night of the wedding along with many of our guests. They catered well for members with disabilities. Rooms were spacious - big enough for myself (bride) x3 bridesmaids x2 mothers and photographer and extra 2 people to move around. I can not thank or praise the team any more they’re amazing and went above and beyond! Our only issue was the squeaky bed but that won’t put us off coming again.

Staff are so friendly and so kind to me with my special dietary needs1 (Gluten free and dairy intolerant). the restaurant serves consistently good food and the chef is so adaptable! Our room was so clean and the bed was very comfortable. Having a drink before dinner was a lovely experience with friendly bar staff! There are so many lovely places to walk nearby, for people such as us who love nature! We visited Titchfield Haven Nature Reserve followed by a drink and a snack at Osborne View Hotel just along the beach. We also drove up to 100 acre woods and had a lovely walk there. We walked up the Titchfield Canal and also visited Fareham Creek. Staff at the hotel on every level are always friendly and helpful! Thankyou for another lovely stay!

I took a party of 30 for lunch at Lysses hotel. Everybody enjoyed it. The food was excellent and the service was just right. Drinks were reasonable. The staff were very helpful in advance e.g. providing name and menu choice table labels. Thoroughly recommended for this type of event.
