Lovely stay at the Aviator hotel. The rooms were big, modern, clean and had everything that we needed. The beds were comfortable and the bedroom was nice and quiet. There was good service throughout the hotel. Well done, we will definitely come back!

Hotel's Favourite
My husband and I visited the Aviator on 23 September 2023, to celebrate our wedding anniversary, having booked a Weekend Romance - Envy package. The whole experience was undoubtedly one of the best short breaks we have ever had. The package included an airside room, champagne in room on arrival, 5 course tasting menu, candlelit turndown, breakfast and late checkout. As it was a special occasion, a 'Happy Anniversary' cup cake was also waiting for us when we arrived. The service from the hotel was outstanding, from the booking being made to after we had left the hotel. Nothing could have been too much trouble. We were contacted prior to arriving, to see if we would like to make a reservation for dinner on the Saturday evening. We were looked after very well during our stay and staff even returned some property I had left behind, in error, keeping me updated with regards to postal and tracking information. The 5 course tasting menu was delicious and I would recommend paying the extra to have the paired wines with each course. The room was very comfortable, with amazing views of the airfield, everything you could ask for, and more. The communal areas of the hotel are stunning, although aviation themed, it actually reminded me of a cruise ship with the grand staircase and over sized furnishing. We had lunch in the Sky Bar when we arrived, this was very tasty and reasonably priced. The afternoon tea, which was being served at the time, looked equally delicious too. The buffet breakfast was plentiful, with food of exceptional quality, along with the choice to order from the a la carte menu too. Everything about our stay was stress free and relaxing, we cannot wait to visit again!

Stayed here recently for a night. The exterior of the building was architecturally eye-catching. There is ample parking in the grounds. And once you locate the front doors, you are faced with a flight of stairs. Unusually, Reception and check in is at the top of these stairs, which you can also reach using an array of three lifts, to your left. Once you get there, Reception is welcoming and check in was pain free. There is a Brasserie on the ground floor, as also an American themed restaurant which I did not get a chance to try. Had a lovely meal at the Brasserie that evening. And breakfast too is served there the following morning. The bedroom was large, a comfortable bed with a profusion of pillow and plenty of sockets as also USB connections all around the room met one’s needs. The bathroom was well appointed and the rain shower was excellent. Altogether, a great experience!

Excellent experience. I was lucky to get a complimentary upgrade to a fabulous huge room with a view airside. Food at dinner (one eleven) and breakfast was great. I can highly recommend the southern fried chicken burger and as ever the Eggs Benedict for breakfast.

Outside the Aviator is intriguing, inside it's akin to ascending into the belly of the mothership. It really is a stunning piece of interior design. Oddly, the reception is on the first floor, but a quartet of Trumpian gold elevators are ready to whisk you away. That said, the rest of the interior cues are slightly subtler: a curious mix of power boardroom (black glass and chrome) and strong-minded soft furnishings (purples, sages and grey shot through with silver). Our room was on the first floor and as we specified, overlooking the runway of Fairoaks Airport. Nowadays this in THE airport for the private jet. Judging by the size of the Gulfstream Hanger where you can buy, maintain and store your jet. The room was worthy of a spread in Homes and Gardens but featured air conditioning with a mind of its own and a very stiff hot water tap in the bathroom. Dinner in The Brasserie was a disappointment. The starter, claiming to be a 'raviolio' containing prawns and smoked salmon, was tasteless. Worse in fact, than a Tescos Finest filled pasta. It was sent back and taken off the bill. To follow we had steaks. My partner had a sirloin, which at £35 was large and good. I had the Ribeye at £39 which proved to be smaller and sadly very fatty. This was accompanied by a watery Merlot (£12 for a 150ml glass) The waitress, like all the Aviator staff, was friendly and professional (i.e. not calling us "you guys...") and manger himself gave us the bill and apologised for the starter. We repaired to the Skybar and had a marvellous after dinner cocktail called a Gateaux. We also spotted the Skybar produced some great looking burgers. Overall, the best recommendation would be to get a runway room, bypass the Brasserie and enjoy the bar food in the Skybar.
