I will start by saying that my young son and I can’t wait to return!!

It was by far one of the best hotels we’ve stayed at with reasonable room rates. We had a family room which was a nice size for us two, I managed to get a good deal early check in and late check out and check in was fast and simple. The staff were all really friendly and made us feel very welcome.

A huge thanks to Ash on reception, Lukas and Paula who were amazing in the sports bar. Really lovely people and brilliant at their jobs. I hope the management recognise the great service they give. The food was fantastic!

We booked in times to use the pool and all areas were cleaned regularly so we felt very safe.

Really well done to the everyone working to make the guests comfortable. See you all soon!

Best wishes

I stopped staying at village hotels as the prices went too high for what they provided. However the prices have come down so when I needed a hotel in Farnborough I decided to go back. It is covid friendly, contactless check in, hand sanitisers, stickers across the door opening saying the room was cleaned, if the sticker was unbroken you knew you knew no-one had been in after house keeping. House keeping did not go in during my stay, towels are provided in a plastic bag with another spare bag inside for the rubbish bin which you were asked to leave outside the door when it was full. I had to ask for another set of towels as they only provided one bath towel and one hand towel for two people. There was also a bulb not working but they got maintenance to replace it. I was told I could çontact reception using the Google phone in the room but this didn't work. I was able to order room service via the village app but it was a bit confusing, the room service and collect button linked to a burger menu, the grill option linked to the on site restaurant, I ordered my food, paid online and put my room number in for delivery, and was given the message I was to collect, I checked with reception and was advised that if I put my room number it would be delivered. It was, but without my drink, I had to call after him and it was brought up around 10 mins later. Parking used to be free but you now have to pay £5 if you are parked for more than 4 hours Mon-Fri BUT you will pay for every night you are booked in even if you go out for the day, I ended up paying £5 extra, I checked in at 6.30pm on the Thursday, was out from 9.30am to 7pm on the Friday but I was still charged. My view is, if you pay to stay in a hotel you should be able to park free. I do feel that the experience of staying at the village hotel Farnborough was, this time, disappointing and I don't know if I would pay the extra to stay again. Saying that, the room was clean, the bed comfortable, the blackout blind worked, the shower had good pressure and the air con was welcome! The staff were friendly and helpful and location was good.

I used to live in the Farnborough area and was looking to visit to see family and friends still around here.
Fortunately I received an email from the Village Group offering a special deal staying at any of their hotels for just £25.00 per night.
Emails that seem to good to be true I normally swerve but this one I looked at the detail and am pleased I did.
My wife and I booked for three nights from Monday 13 July. A total of £75.00!
The online booking was easy, this included signing up for the Village ‘club’ and downloading the App. Check-in online was easy and information regarding COVID considerations was available and clear.
We arrived earlier than planned and were met at the reception area by a mask wearing host. Booking in was easy and our key issued.
The hotel seemed quiet, the room was very clean and had a seal across the door and frame which gave confidence that a thorough cleaning process was in place.
We did not use the restaurant or bar facility but observed that social distancing was being followed.
The particular room we were given 111 had an air conditioning unit on the roof outside the window which was noisy when it started working. This was a frustration, and the only reason I haven’t given five stars.
I would like to say that all of the staff we met were very friendly and courteous and did their best to make our stay pleasant.
Happy to recommend this hotel and have booked myself in again for next week as I have some work in the area.

I used this hotel for one night while on business. The check in was lengthy as they are using a new electronic check in, luckily there were a couple of employees to assist.
You have to pay an extra £5 for using the gym and an extra £5 to park your car, which is not clear when booking online.
Rooms are very dark and gloomy, even with all the lights on! I had to close the blinds as the room is over looked by a multi storey car park!
Rooms come with an iron and ironing board, tea and coffee making facilities.
Bathroom was ok, but could do with a refurb, there were cracked tiles on the floor and the shower screen fails to retain the water in the bath.
I will not be returning to this hotel, my initial impression was soon knocked back by the lengthy check in. Gloomy rooms and then the extortionate bar prices (£5) a pint.
Never again!

Clearly this hotel relies most on functions, the gym and starbucks because it doesn't seem they care at all for standard guests, very much style over substance (though some substance was found in the gents toilet, again not a great impression)

We arrived around 1930 to find they had moved their food service to the bar only now and the former Grill seems to be their VWorks space. The offer we had booked had not been applied fully and so not a great start but it was ok.

The room was small and clearly in need to a refurb as all the wood was chipped and tired looking. The mattress was uncomfortable and really travellers expect a king size as a minimum these days. There certainly would be the room if they got rid of the unnecessary bulky dark wood. The view was exceptionally uninspiring of a car park and the roof of the function area. There was a lot of noise of large trolleys being moved around outside.

I moved my car to a nearby charging point and went to dinner to find it very difficult to get a table and a long queue for the bar. When I was eventually served it was difficult to hear the person but they certainly didn't apologise for the wait nor advise dinner would take well over an hour.

Whilst waiting I went to collect the car and came back to find most of the spaces meant for those with blue disability badges taken up by cars without them. That isn't acceptable and whilst not the hotel's fault the fact people can get away with this without enforcement shows how little the hotel cares. Claims "it's private land and we have no say" don't wash when it's clearly patrons at your establishment.

After more than an hour of enduring deafening noise I asked where our food was as others had received their food that ordered after us. An apology was given but no real information as to why the excessive delay. The food was poor quality for the price point but at this point I just needed out of that environment, it's clearly not suitable for those who want to dine but great if you're expecting served whilst clearly heavily intoxicated already.

The next day, despite hanging the fresh towels please notice on the door, only one set of towels were left and I had to go to request this be corrected. This was done but again no apology. You can't phone down because the rooms have no phone and staff ignored the calls from the out of date in room technology.

The one area Village are good at is the gym and pool but that simply isn't enough to get me back to this hotel ever.

Zero customer service and dirty! You have to register on an app to message for requests- no phone or Kleenex in the room. They wouldn’t bring a message to my room when a pharmacy had tried to reach me with an urgent issue.
They put a seal on the door that says “cleaned and sanitized”. Yet my colleague’s trash hadn’t been emptied, there was a dirty spoon in my sink and someone’s razor cap my shower which along with the sink were visibly dirty, and there was some trash on my floor.
There is no place to put anything and only a 2.5x2ft desk space. Not for business travel!!
They seem to focus on their public gym, workspace rental and their bar/restaurant which was subpar food- and you had to register on an app to order. I will never stay at one of their properties again. I was stuck there for a week & they didn’t even ask how my stay was.. guess they don’t really want to know…

Had a 3 night stay on business, the hotel knew there was an exhibition on locally so hiked the room price to over £250 a night. Check in was via a touchscreen terminal, room was very dark, inadequate lighting not helped by the fact the window had no means of letting light in without having the whole room on view from the outside. Bed was comfortable, bathroom floor needs a deep clean. The hotel has a health club in the same building so all the public areas are very noisy throughout the evening. Sports bar is modern and the bar staff are good. Breakfast self service buffet budget quality. I didn’t have dinner in the hotel so can’t comment but there is a theme menu each night. Overpriced and underwhelming.

Went back to the gym here for the first time yesterday and I couldn’t have been more impressed with how helpful the staff are, the new layout and safety procedures. Felt totally safe and at ease. There’s plenty of sanitizer, screens between the machines and more than enough antibacterial wipes / spray to clean the machines down as well as a cleaner on hand too. Everyone can easily adhere to social distancing with the layout. Temperature checks on arrival also made me feel better before entering. I have really missed the gym so it was amazing to be back and feel safe whilst doing so. Well done for adapting so quickly to the “new normal”.

Booked for one night while presenting in one of their conference rooms.

They started me off on the wrong foot by forcing me to use a kiosk system to check in, even though it was problematic, and I told them I just wanted to check in with a person. There were two people staffing it trying to get people checked in. Two clerks would have gotten way more done way faster with a far better customer experience.

The room we were presenting in had WiFi issues. When it worked, it was nice and fast, but multiple users on Windows and Mac were having troubles. The events guy was aware and said he had maintenance look at it, but nothing got better for either day we were in the space.

The room mostly okay, except the bathroom. The toilet was so close to the wall, then they installed a toilet paper holder next to it so you couldn't sit straight on the toilet to do your business. There were also gross stains on the desk chair. The bed was comfortable and nice. The shower was great, except the sort of shower door didn't keep the shower in the shower, so one towel ended up being used to dry the puddle in the floor.

The bed was comfortable, but the fan on the heater was out of balance or something, so constantly rattling whenever the heat was on.

The whole hotel has an annoying amount of trying to look like a gym, with motivational advertisements everywhere, but you have to pay more to use the gym when you stay there. My room was almost 400, and they wanted me to pay to use the gym..or even the WiFi. Hello...Free WiFi in the rooms is standard now. Making us create accounts in a loyalty program we have no intention of using is ridiculous.

Lastly, my biggest pet peeve which is absolutely disgusting, is that there is nothing in the bathroom to turn off the faucet. No tissue or anything, so after you've washed you hands, you must touch the same handle you just touched to turn on. Likewise, there is a door that open in, requiring you to touch the handle with your bare hands. Hope everyone washed their hands before you that touched it? While I was in there I did see the restaurant manager using the bathroom, so the people who touch your food are using this.

Thank you for taking the time to review your stay, I'm really disappointed to hear that we let you down during your time with us. We have already made steps to address the cleanliness and maintenance issues you raised including the fan and Wifi. We are proudly moving forward with technology and ipad/self service check in, however the host experience should still be interactive and welcoming for our guests so we will review this to ensure this remains at the heart of our guests arrival. As for access to the gym and wifi, you need only to book directly through our Revolution portal to get this included in your stay, it is free to do so and our team are on hand to help with this if necessary. We hope we can welcome you back to the hotel again in the future.

The hotel is amazingly great and technology-focused with additional comforts such as the Starbucks in the lobby. Cannot fault the Covid safety measures. Great self check in using a tablet and staff on hand to help. Love the sensor antibacterial hand sanitisers throughout the hotel and are conveniently located on every floor and thoroughfare. The hallways are wide and have an air of a boutique hotel. The doors have a lovely sticker on them when you arrive so you know your room has been cleaned and sanitised. It feels like opening a sealed room which is good.

The room is decent sized and reflective of the hotel imagines online. I like the floor to ceiling window. Decent sized desk, lighting and comfy chairs.

The downsides were: The toilet seat was quite stained. There is a lot of brown 'gunk' around the seals and grouting in the bathroom. We were only given one towel (room booked for 2). The blinds were a bit dirty and I am not convinced under the bread had been cleaned as thoroughly as the rest of the visible parts of the room.

And the room doors could be heavier/sound insulated, as we were woken up a few times bypassing guess who were talking to one another but not shouting. This indicates to me the doors and walls in the room are of poor quality.

Overall the hotel is a good stay.. It shows potential to be a great modern, sleek hotel either as a boutique or to rival the DoubleTree Hiltons. Just needs a few enhancements and refinement.

I don't know, but I can tell you the added 'treats' in the Upper Deck rooms really don't make a difference. If you like to spend a ton of time in your hotel room, I would choose a different hotel. The rooms (even the upper deck) are small and comfortable only to sleep and read on the bed. Just stayed there two weeks ago.
