Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Great BnB. Martin is a great host and his signature "breakfast " will keep you going the whole day. Situated near the North Camp village, which has most places that you would need. The local pub is a real gem, and a 5 minute walk. The lodge doesn't really cater for holiday makers, more for reps etc. 2 Train stations nearby.

For business and pleasure, I've stayed in many guest houses and B & B's over the years and this is the best one to date. The friendliness, professionalism, attention to detail and efficiency shown by the owner, Martin, was second to none. Really decent sized room with everything you'd need, comfortable bed, great breakfast, excellent shower, quiet, great nearby pub (The Squirrel) within 3-4 mins walk away...and more! Martin also went over and above my expectations by going out of his way very early in the morning, before I headed off to work, to mend my reading glasses after they fell apart. Without my glasses, the day would have been very challenging indeed...thank you Martin!!!

I planned to stay here for a week at the beginning of a project, and I ended up staying for seven. There was no need to change. Parklodge is a simple, straight-forward business that allows Martin the owner to live and raise his family next-door while running a full-house during the week. The rooms are clean, the clientele friendly, the beds comfy and the breakfast excellent. It biases male and slightly older, but that's fine. Martin will look after you, and you will get your business done.

My partner, young'n and I stayed at park lodge to visit family and see the area - and our stay at Park Lodge was a high-point of the trip. Martin is a gregarious and welcoming host and we felt as though invited to stay with a good friend. It must be mentioned that Martin treated us to - what is probably - the best english fry-up we have every enjoyed, and dippy eggs now have become a weekend staple at home, thanks to him. It is a pleasent area to explore and plenty of good eating to be found. Do yourself a favor and visit! We can't recommend it enough.

I am not one for leaving reviews just reading them normally but today I joined TA just to comment on my experience of staying at the Park Lodge Guest House. I was looked after the moment I arrived to the time I left. They couldn't do enough for me hence the effort from me. I'm classed as vulnerable due to health issues and Covid-19 so I am always careful; they looked after me throughout my stay so I felt completely safe and at ease. Clean, comfortable and extremely helpful.

On my arrival I was upgraded from a single room to a double free of charge. The room was lovely, had everything you could want, extremely comfy bed, powerful shower and a brilliant breakfast. The private parking was a bonus too, I loved the hand made pottery which was subtly up for sale, such a nice touch. Despite it having quite a few guests during my 3 night stay I always had a parking space and never once heard any of the other guests making any noise. The squirrel pub 2 minutes down the road does amazing food for a evening meal too. It was the cheapest in the area that I could find and easily found (and I'm useless at finding things). Overall it was faultless, I really enjoyed my stay and will certainly be back if I'm down that way again, thankyou so much!
