Stayed for a spa weekend. The room was modern and clean, with everything you could need. Our package included 1 treatment, evening meal and breakfast. The treatment was very relaxing and the spa area is clean, modern and very professional. The pool wasn't busy but there were not enough loungers to relax on, it didn't really bother us as we...

Stayed at Old Thorns for 3 nights for business meetings. Hotel is located in the woods and has a very isolated vibe. Hotel has an 18 hole golf course and tennis courts. The hotel has the aboslutely best hotel gym I've ever experienced. Large, well equipped with every possible machine a serious gym rat could want. Hotel includea a spa...

This place should be great. But the service in places is poor. The heating is way to high; do you always want to get outside. But the decor is bonkers! It's so cheesy it's untrue. It makes the 'only way is ' Essex' look like a documentary on the royal family. It's as if a child had just crayoned a...

We were booked in for a 2 night stay for our daughters wedding and our 40th anniversary and had an excellent time. We had organized a dinner for the Friday night and became concerned when we wandered across to the main building for a cocktail and saw two fire engines. The result was that one of the kitchens had to...

Just returned from a fantastic weekend having seen my nephew married. Old Thorns is in a magnificent location that was completely new to me. A fantastic range of facilities of which there was only time to explore just a small fraction. After a small fire on the Friday night the hotel offered a 50% discount to guests on a future...

We recently stayed overnight to attend a wedding. On the plus side the room was an excellent size and the bathroom was spotless. Overall the hotel is furnished very well. The food at the reception was lovely, well presented and served professionally. Staff at check in were welcoming and our room was ready early. Comfortable bed and crisp white sheets....

Quality building and hotel, but a ver slow check-in service. Pool and sauna etc is great, a lovely place to wind down and relax. Food in sports bar is good although food and drink is a tad expensive but you have to remember its location. Breakfast choice is great and the food is quality. Staff very helpful Room was very...

We recently visited this hotel again for another of their Tribute nights, but this time we stayed over night. I asked for a room in the main building, and they gladly helped out. The room was a very nice size, the bed was a very big bed although I think it was two beds together as it was rather unusually...

My wife and I stayed here in October. I have to say that the Spa was lovely, really good equipment and friendly staff. However the staff else where in the Hotel were not so friendly. The room was a little dated and the bathroom had plastic cups in the room instead of glass. The shower in the room didnt work...

I visited the hotel for a wedding and stayed overnight. Througout the two days, the staff were often very rude. They seemed to view the guests as an occupational hazard. While dealing with a member of staff at the reception, she interrupted our conversation by picking up the telephone and dealing with that person preferentially. The room was adequate although...
